Our Penthouse was updated in 2009 with new furniture, washer/dryer/dishwasher and kitchen granite countertops. In 2011 we remodeled the kitchen cabinets. Look at the pics. No trick photography, just the best views in Destin. Includes a covered parking space 50' from the elevator. This is a smoke free condo and no pets are allowed.
Sterling Shores is considered one of the best family oriented resorts in Destin. Located on Route 98 about 2 miles West from the intersection of 98 and the Mid Bay Bridge with the Destin Commons shopping Mall on the corner. The resort features plush landscaping, two pools, gated entrance, separate exercise room, wireless high-speed internet in each condo, a 42-seat surround-sound theater and private beach.
You will be amazed as you step onto the balcony for a panoramic view of the ocean. This spacious, 1700-square-foot top floor unit is the largest 3BA/2Br unit in Sterling Shores. It is one of only four "Islamorada" floor plans and is 300 square feet larger than the "Key West" but has the same rental rates. Featuring vaulted 12-foot ceilings with transom windows which create a bright and airy environment. The balcony has superb views to the south, east, and west as this portion of the building sits forward of either end.
The living/dining room is almost 20 feet by 22 feet allowing you to relax or entertain after a day at the beach with plenty of room or watch TV on the 50-inch screen. Although you will likely eat out at the many nearby restaurants, the kitchen is large and fully equipped. The master bedroom looks directly out onto the gulf with a walk-in closet and spacious bathroom with separate shower and whirlpool tub.
From the pictures you will note the grounds at Sterling Shores are a tropical paradise. Lush palm trees and landscaping surround a 4300-square-foot heated lagoon pool with a second pool on the beach with snack bar. Beach umbrellas and chairs are available for a daily fee.
Other features of Sterling Shores includes wireless high-speed Internet service FREE, a private gulf-front beach club, a 42-seat surround-sound theater, NEW fitness center, and this unit comes with a covered parking space 50 feet from the elevator inside the building.
Nearby amenities include the popular Big Kahuna water park, "The Track" raceway, miniature golf, and many nearby restaurants within a five-minute walk including the Ruth Cris, Back Porch and Jim & Nicks Barbeque. WalMart is less than 1/2 mile and Fresh Market 1 mile away.

Better than the Pictures

I want to start by saying that Don was so personable and informative. He answered any questions that I had, seeing as this was our first time renting a condo directly from an owner. The pictures on this page do not do his condo any justice. The place was gorgeous and the views were breathtaking. Sometimes I worry about the pictures being better than what it actually is, but that wasn't the case. It was like waking up to a picture perfect day, every day. The condo was clean, it had everything we needed to cook, better washer and dryer than I have in my own house and comfortable furniture and beds. We had 3 adult couples and we always had our own space if we wanted it, or plenty of room to eat dinner together or watch a little bit a TV on a night in. The location was perfect. We drove around Destin a lot becasue it was our first time there, and everything that we wanted to do was right by Sterling Shores. Some people worry about the street to cross to the beach, but there is hardly any traffic and you don't lose any beach view at all. It was actually nice because we sat on the balcony many nights and were able to people watch and see other places, instead of the dark abiss. We were able to hear waves crashing at night which is really calming. I really can't say enough about Don's penthouse. When we return to Destin, we will definitely be booking this condo again. It's hard to downgrade after staying in PH4. Don set our standards high for Destin condos, or any condo for that matter. From booking to check out, the trip was magnificent and Don and his condo helped to make it that way. If I could leave my email for anyone to ask me questions I would because Don and his condo deserve rave reviews, but there is a little clause up here that says I can't. All I can say is that you get WAY more than you pay for with PH4. You will not regret staying here... you will regret missing an opportunity to enjoy such a perfect stay if you pass this place up.

We stay at Sterling Shores every summer and have stayed in several condos, but we haven't found one that we'd want to use a second year in a row...until now! This condo was absolutely perfect for our family. It was decorated nicely but still felt like home. All the beds were comfortable, and all the necessary supplies were included. Mr. Don even added nice touches like a binder with all kinds of information about Destin and beach toys for the kids. Our family plans to stay here every year for our vacation. Thanks!

Have been spending spring break in Destin for five years. The last two have been in this condo. Can't say enough good things about the condo, location, or owner. Our teenage children also love the accomodations. The Condo is very spacious and the view is fantastic. Having the owner (Don) nearby is very comforting. The location is great for both adults and teenagers. Thanks for everything Don. Looking forward to seeing you again next spring break...if not sooner!

Fabulous condo! and great owner assistance with answering our initial questions when making reservations. Our family had the most wonderful vacation last summer (2007) which was only enhanced by our stay in your wonderful accomodations. We liked it so much, we tried to book it again this year, but were too late! Maybe in 2009?! Thank you!
