Newly remodeled, single-story, one bedroom, one bathroom cottage features brand new furnishings and a charming beach cottage style décor. The cottage is nestled behind another home, yet is extremely private and secluded from the street and shares a majestic neighborhood Monterey Cypress. Just a short walk (200 yards) down Nautilus Street to La Jolla's scenic "Windansea" Beach. Fantastic surfing, sunsets, tide pools, and Windansea's beautiful sandy beach are just a block away.

An ideal getaway for a couple, the cottage has a spacious bedroom with vaulted ceilings and operable skylights. The comfy bedroom is beautifully furnished with a queen Sealy Posturepedic pillow-top bed, fine linens, flat screen TV, generous storage, and spacious walk-in closet. The bathroom is finished in tumbled travertine marble and has a Jen Air jetted tub.

The cottage features hardwood floors, forced air heat, two ceiling fans and two flat screen TVs. CD/DVD player has surround sound with volume controls in both living and bedroom areas. Open living area includes fully equipped kitchen with work island, stainless steel appliances, solid granite countertops, and gourmet cooking equipment.

Living area has 42 inch flat screen TV plus a sleeper sofa (full-size) and two club chairs. Dining table with service for eight. Gated enclosed front patio is beautifully landscaped with tropical plants and flowers and has outside dining for four to six. "Ducane" gas barbecue, two beach cruiser bikes, and beach chairs are also provided.

This location is absolutely perfect in everyway! It is walking distance not only to the most beautiful beach in San Diego but it is just a stroll (less than a minute walk) to restaurants and shops on La Jolla Blvd and Nautilus Street. Pearl Street is less than one mile to the north, where the heart of La Jolla Village awaits you with all it has to offer. Museums, parks, farmers markets, galleries, night life and some of the finest restaurants in San Diego. One mile south of the cottage is the little neighborhood of Bird Rock also filled with sidewalk cafes, coffee houses, bakeries and restaurants.

I grew up in San Diego but moved to the Rockies over 25 years ago. The beach has always moved my soul. One of my earliest childhood memories is going to Windansea Beach as a little girl with my family. This cottage is a welcome retreat where I rest, relax and rejuvenate from everyday life. Owning this charming home has been one of the best things I have ever done for living life to its fullest and staying connected with family, friends and everything that San Diego has to offer.

    • We are telling everyone about this Windansea cottage hideaway. Besides being well-appointed to PERFECTION, its neighborhood location is great: walkable, close to the beach, and a short hop to our favorite places in LaJolla. (Gingerbread pancakes at LaValencia, and dinner at George's on the Cove) The bikes are great! Be sure to ask for directions to the nearby bike path. We will stay here again whenever we come back to LaJolla. Absolutely precious.
