Air Conditioned, One BR 17th Century Jewel - New Renovation.
- Minimum stay:3 nights

- Wheel chair accessible:No
This apartment has just had a complete renovation, all done as of 3-2012!
Located on a street filled with chic shops and historic mansions, in the heart of the Marais, and only a few steps from the Places Des Vosges, this exceptionally comfortable, one bedroom apartment offers antique architectural charm and luxurious furnishings.
Two flights up, in a small building from the 17th century, the apartment is located on a busy street with the bedroom on the courtyard offering a quiet retreat after a day of exploring Paris. The living room is unique and exceptional with a cathedral ceiling of more the five meters in height and crowned with the original oak beams, and the decorating is elegant and refined.
Ideally located in the historic Marais district, this apartment is perfectly situated and central to everything with convenient access to Metro. We include a top of the line, professional and English speaking PERSONAL CONCIERGE to assist you during your entire stay, and if we can also arrange for our CHAUFFEUR to personally greet you at either the airport or train station upon arrival (supplemental fee for chauffeur, but not for concierge who is at your service for the duration of your stay.)
This neighborhood is filled with wonderful cafes, restaurants and charming shops, and is an easy walk to most major attractions including the Place Des Vosges, Picasso, Carnavalet and Jewish Museums and numerous historic sites. The metro line 1 is also within an easy walking distance (St Paul metro stop).
The ideal client for this apartment is someone seeking both comfort, space and convenience and appreciating the charm of an authentic 17th century vintage building. It is also someone who would want the full support of our private concierge service.
The apartment is ideal 2-4 guests: for a couple sharing the bedroom, and then one or two other guests to share the very comfortable sofa bed in the living room. Ideal for a family - the large bed can be split into twins if requested as well.
Why do I love this apartment?
--The space: if feels even larger than the 56 square meters of space, given the huge vaulted ceiling and exposed 17th century beams. This apartment was entirely renovated in 2012. The combination of the light and the height of the ceiling are extraordinary.
--The location: It's exceptional: Francs Bourgeois is a fabulous street, lined with cafes and elegant shops for clothing, jewelry, and perfumes.
--The comfort: Every effort has been made to make it beautiful but not fussy; it's a typical elegant French apartment in the middle of the best neighborhood of Paris.

My husband and I were delighted with this apartment and would highly recommend it to a couple seeking a nice apartment in the Marais neighborhood in Paris. It would be okay for a family with 1 or 2 children, but would be a little cramped by my standards. First, the transaction/business part -- with Jim in the US and Marc in Paris -- was easy and flawless. Jim and Marc were helpful, prompt and trustworthy. I couldn't have asked for better service. The apartment itself was clean, pleasant, and very livable. The apartment's living room is comfortable, with a flatscreen TV, telephone for local calls, and free Wi-Fi; the desk had recent Paris travel books (in English). It rained one day when we were there, and the umbrellas were much appreciated. The kitchen is new and has everything you need, including a corkscrew. The bathroom has a very nice shower, heated towel bar, and a washer/dryer combo. (Don't plan on quick wash and wear... you may need a little time to finish drying.) The bed is very comfortable. We lacked nothing! (Well, I had brought washcloths, since Europeans don't seem to use them.) The only quirk about the apartment is the spiral staircase, which could pose a challenge for anyone with limited mobility. The apartment is on the 3rd floor. Marc carried our suitcases up upon arrival, which was nice. The location was perfect. We had the choice of many, many restaurants and cafes nearby. It is less than 5 minutes from the Saint-Paul metro station. A great deal of shopping, eating, and many sites- including Notre Dame, is within walking distance for almost anyone. The apartment is on a cute, narrow, one way street with plenty of nice shops. There is a grocery shop right around the corner. Our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood was Les Bougresses at 6 Rue Jarente...it was exceptional. Try the ravioli!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We recently returned from 2 weeks in the apartment ‘Fontaine’ and we just can’t tell you how pleasant the stay and visit was. First of all. September is a great time in Paris for lots of reasons, but without the care and attention of the Our Home In Paris team, it would have just not been the same. The process of reservation, deposits, etc. was seamless. The concierge was helpful and driver(which we can’t recommend enough for your arrival and departure) was courteous and timely. The location is one we love. Compared to a hotel room, the apartment is spacious, but most of all, extremely well-appointed. Here are some of the things we liked immensely: an umbrella stand with umbrellas AND a shoehorn by the front door; a towel-warmer in the bath, which gave the feeling of a luxurious spa; no wire hangers- just sturdy plastic and wooden ones and trouser clips, which means no insipid wrinkles at the knees; a safe to store your passports/valuables in; TV and wireless cable with a good selection of english, chinese, french, spanish, etc. stations; fully equipped kitchen with all matching silverware, plates, glasses and cookware WITH matching lids for boiling pasta or throwing an omelette. We would give this apartment 5 stars at the least and are glad we have found ‘our home in Paris!’Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We loved this charming apartment and its location! It was the PERFECT place for us and what we wanted to do. We were able to walk almost everywhere. But the apartment itself is very comfortable and convenient and had everything we needed - including the free telephone to call home. The concierge service was fantastic as well. Many fun restaurants nearby and even two Starbucks for those who want a little bit of (US) home. All in all, we were thrilled with our choice and really appreciate the attention to detail paid in the furnishing of this wonderful place.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

My 7 year old daughter and I could not have loved this gem of an apartment more. It is super comfortable, and couldn't be better located - on a fabulous street in the Marais, 2 minutes from the Place des Voges, 10 minutes from a fantastic market street, and about 20 minutes walk to many of the places any visitor to Paris would want to be: Ile St. Louis, Notre Dame, the Pompidou Center, the Seine. After a busy day of wandering around the city, it was a joy to come home and dig into the wonderful provisions we found close by. Marc was super helpful - met us at the apartment when we arrived, gave great advice about where to buy clothes for my daughter, and was responsive to all questions before our arrival and while we were there. We can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My wife and I have been to Paris many times and always stay in apartments. It’s really the only way to go if you want to have the opportunity to pretend you’re Parisian. This little beauty on rue des Francs Bourgeois was terrific! We were there for three weeks and could easily have stayed three months. The location is great, just on the edge of the Marais. So you’re close to all the things you’ve read about … restaurants, shops, etc. … but go a block or two in the opposite direction and there’s not a tourist in sight. The apartment itself is a typical Parisian one-bedroom. The furniture’s comfortable. The bedroom’s on a quiet inner courtyard for a good night’s sleep. The place is stocked with everything you’ll need to enjoy your visit, from cool CDs to books to kitchen utensils. It’s very clean and well cared for, with weekly cleaning service provided. Jim Braude is always a real pleasure to work with as are the concierges, Mathias and Marc. If you’re not familiar with Paris they’ll help you navigate, whether it be restaurant reservations or the language barrier. Any negatives? Be prepared to climb two flights of twisty, uneven wooden stairs. (But your legs will be so much stronger when you leave.) Also, the kitchen may seem a bit small for serious cooking. (But you’ll manage and it’s so much fun.) And finally, you may not want to go back home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/8

We stayed in this wonderful apartment for 3 nights in late March 2010. The location is unbeatable for exploring Paris either by foot or metro. One block to the beautiful Place de Vosges, 10 minutes walk to Notre Dame, 5 minutes walk to St Paul metro. Lots of restuarants nearby if you choose to eat out, and plenty of wonderful food shops near St Paul metro if you choose to eat in the apartment. The entrance is very secure, but the very steep spiral stairs may not suit someone with a mobility problem. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The bedroom - with a very comfortable bed - is at the back of the apartment and very quiet. Matthias, our concierge was very helpful and was there to meet us on arrival - just what we wanted after a very long flight from Australia. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to feel they are truly in Paris and living like a Parisian... just take care on the steep stairs!! My husband & I have just returned to our Normandy home after a long weekend in the big city! The apartment was a home away from home and perfect for our needs. Ideally situated in the heart of the Marais within walking distance of museums, galleries, shops & restaurants. We were met at the apartment by the concierge who was extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and other information. There is more than enough to see & do in the Marais, but the St Paul Metro station is close by and it is very easy to make your way to the centre of Paris for more touristy sightseeing and nightlife should you want to.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Two of us stayed four nights in August. We found our way to the hotel on our own using a map, at night, on the Metro, from the train station after traveling from London. We barely needed help from the hotel staff but it was nice to know they were there if necessary. They recommended a tour company which we used for one evening. Another trip we arranged in advance before we got to Paris. Both tours were willing to pick up and drop off at the hotel or the apartment. Everything else we did on our own and it was easy. There were numerous shops, grocers, restaurants, historic buildings, and a Metro station all within walking distance of the apartment. We found a restaurant listed in a guide in the apartment and had one of the best meals of our lives at le Dome du Marais, right down the street. Although it was quite hot while we were there, we were comfortable with a few windows open and fans blowing at night. It wasn't noisy at all, except a few mornings when some younger children were playing in their apartment across the courtyard...not a big deal. Some of the streets were closed off on the weekend so people were walking around, there was live music down the street, and it was very festive. We came and went from the apartment at all hours on the day and night and always felt very safe.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/7

This is our fifth trip to Paris and we have stayed in apartments the last three times. This is our second time staying in one of Jim's places and again, it was a superb vacation. Living in an apartment is THE only way to experience Paris. You just can't beat shopping at the local fromagerie, wine shop, and boulangerie and coming back to enjoy it all in your own private hideaway. We've stayed in the Marais before and couldn't wait to return to the neighborhood. It can be a bit touristy, but there is definitely also a homey quality about the side streets. The apartment on rue de Francs Bourgeois was a lovely place...the perfect size for a couple and anyone who is nervous about the whole apartment experience, will be comforted to have the help of the staff at the Hotel Saint Louis Marais. You'll be amazed how the place opens up once you climb the small and winding staircase. The kitchen, bathroom, WC and bedroom were quite adequate and the cathedral ceiling in the living room made this third floor home feel very spacious. The bedroom closet was large and easily accessible. The living room furniture was very comfortable and we just loved relaxing here in the early evenings before dinner with wine and cheese while listening to the crowds still bustling on the street. The temperatures outside were fairly hot when we were there in late June/early July (mid-eighties), but the fan, combined with the cross breeze from all the windows, really helped and we were able to sleep just fine. The street is definitely busy and noisy until the shops close, but that's part of the fun of the city...looking out and seeing what everyone is doing and sitting in the living room listening to the hustle bustle. We quite enjoyed that part of it. The bedroom is in the back of the apartment on the courtyard and with the windows and the bedroom door closed, the street shouldn't bother you during sleeping hours. You can't ask for a better location. Only a few minutes by foot to the grocery store, butcher and cheese shops and the Saint Paul or Bastille Metro stops. A ten minute walk brings you to Notre Dame, Ile Saint Louis and the Latin Quarter. And the Marais is just filled with small restaurants that the somewhat colorful locals flock to. You will want to bring your own alarm clock, wine and/or champagne bottle toppers and face cloths if these items are ones you would use. Also, throw in a coDid you find this review helpful?
