Our stay at this Villa was perfect! Very cozy, the bed was super comfy, great views and close to everything! Loved that there was a washer/dryer in the unit! The owners were very helpful with suppling us with great info about restaurant and attractions. We stayed here for 4 nights and we look forward to staying here again! We really enjoyed this rental. My husband's boss told him at the last minute he wasn't approved for his vacation. Bill offered to let us stay at another time in the same price range. With a baby on the way, we didn't want to be down there with with a newborn later in the year. We were really touched he offered to work with us on that. The place was clean and the view was gorgeous. If your an early morning person, you have to watch the sunrise from the balcony. My child loved the lazy river. Usually we bring our own pillows but we didn't need them.

This is a great place for a couple wanting to get away...there isn't a door to the bedroom so if you are wanting to share with another couple, just be aware of that. The facilities are great, amenities wonderful. The only thing I would have wanted different was more gulf front view, bigger tvs and a closet. There are only 2 chests and no closet. Very small things but our overall experience was wonderful and the owners are very nice to work with :)

We were planning a Spring Break trip to Myrtle Beach, but when weather turned bad there we made a VERY last minute decision to go to the panhandle instead. We found a GREAT deal w/VRBO and LOVED it! We had never been to Ft.Walton/Okaloosa Island. The weather was great! Kids loved the lazy rivers and pools. Ocean and non-heated pools, just alittle cool, but not too much to handle (and of course kids don't FEEL the cold :) The unit had everything we needed...full size frige, 2 burner stove top, microwave/convection oven, small dishwasher and a combo washer/dryer, coffee maker, toaster. Fully stocked linens for the 4 of us, plenty of dishware, etc. Furnishings were beautiful and had LOTS of storage spaces. Everything was SUPER-CLEAN! Having a shower stall AND a large garden tub was great when coming in so we could all quickly get cleaned. Plenty of hot water for the 4 of us. The lazy river at night is a MUST! It's beautiful! EXACTLY like the pics. Everyone was very nice and it seemed like a pretty classy place. (no kids running around unattended, no loud annoying spring-breakers) Beach set up w/chairs and umbrella was a nice added bonus. Bill is great to work with and we look forward to renting from him again. Thanks so much!

Great place to stay

I had a wonderful month of rest and relaxation at the Condo. The views of the Gulf, Bay and Destin were breathtaking. Enjoyed quite a few cooked meals on the balcony and most mornings spent using the Fitness room, heated pool and walking on the beach. It was nice to be so close to the beach, library and downtown Ft. Walton Beach.

This was our second stay at Destin West. We had a great time in the quaint and very clean condo. The views off the deck are wonderful, you have the ocean to one side and the bay on the other. Bill the owner even put in a brand new washer/dryer combo while we were there, very nice addition.

Perfect Getaway for Two!!!

The condo was great. It is an efficiency, but perfect for the two of us. It was decorated so beautifully and everything we needed was right there. It is also in a perfect location to the pier and boardwalk. The harbor is just a short drive away. We enjoyed our stay so much, we're already talking about next year. We've decided October may be the perfect time to come and this a perfect place to stay for the two of us. Thank you Bill for being so great to work with and for being available when we forgot our code and had it locked in the room!!! P.S, Take a dolphin cruise early on in your trip because you'll get a lot of tips on things to do!

2nd Honeymoon

My husband and I had a horrible first honeymoon, so we decided to try it a 2nd time. We had a WONDERFUL stay! The condo was nice and very comfortable, the lazy river was amazing, and there was no beating the weather. Anything you could want or need was within a 5 mile radius, with plenty to do within walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay at this resort and would recommend this room. Thanks!!

My husband & two girls stayed in Villa 506 for our first family trip to the beach. Resort amenities were great, decor in the condo was cute, furnishings were great! Beach & bay access were great, loved being able to go to either place! Condo was perfect size for our small family, but families with teens will want a larger area. Just wish we'd had more time to stay!

We enjoyed the pools and the beach service. This is NOT a one bedroom as stated in the ad. It is an efficiency/studio, meaning one giant room with a bed and a pull out couch and a partial kitchen (in the same room). There is a divider between the bed and couch, but not a separate room. No closets for clothes, but there is a coat hanger and some drawers that one can use. Definitely not suitable for 4 people. But I think it would have been okay for 2.

I'm glad that you loved the variety of pools offered at Destin West B&B Resort as well as the free beach service accompanying our 5th floor efficiency condo. Traveling all the way from Wisconsin and being disappointed with the layout of our condo was, I'm sure, somewhat frustrating. It's sometimes difficult to get the whole layout of a condo when searching online which is why we put the maximum number of pictures (16) on our sites in order to provide our prospective guests with as many views as possible. I always point out to those inquiring about this condo that it is an "open" floor plan. I didn't get that opportunity with you because your first and only inquiry was to ask to book the condo. Also, I wish to respectfully disagree with your comment that our condo is not suitable for 4 people as evidenced by our many positive guest reviews from families with children or 4 adults staying with us. Again, I am glad that you enjoyed your vacation at our wonderful resort and thank you for booking with us.

I would recommend this property to anyone! I took my 3 kids, ages 13, 15 and 17 down to Florida and they had a ball at the resort. The lazy river was our favorite (especially mine), and the pools were great. Everything at the resort was very clean and well-maintained. A couple of our favorite places to eat while visiting was The Red Bar, Donut Hole and Fud-Puckers. We would also recommend going and watching the windsurfers in the afternoon on the beach, it was awesome!! I don't have one negative thing to say about this Villa and booking our stay was a breeze, Thanks to Bill. :)

This was our first stay at Destin West and we had a great time. The whole complex was great. Everything was very well maintained and very clean, not just our unit but everywhere in and around the resort. My kids loved the lazy river and the pool, of course. The free beach service was wonderful. We also liked going over on the bay side to look for hermit crabs. As far as eating out goes; Staffs and A.J.'s was very good. The grilled shrimp at Staffs was wonderful and the Pasta Orleans and the Steak at A.J.'s was awesome. We will definitely be visiting those again on future vacations. Bill was wonderful to work with and was very helpful with everything. Thanks for a great vacation.

Wonderful Summer Vacation 5/28/11-6/4/11

We stayed at this condo for a full week and had an amazing experience. As our first vacation with our son (13 months at the time), Destin West was the perfect place. The splash pad and kiddie pool on the Gulf side PLUS the zero entry pool and lazy river at Bayside were very family oriented and great for kids. With those and the beach, there were so many options to keep us entertained. Access to everything was so quick and easy, even parking. We also took a few afternoon trips into Destin to shop. The Silver Sands outlet mall is HUGE and a shoppers dream. It does take around 30 mins. to get there with traffic, but well worth it. Destin Commons is closer (15 mins.) and great for more retail shopping. Bass Pro shop was hit for the boys! As for dinner recommendations, we ate at Staff's in FWB twice. It was that great. The restaurant has been opened since 1913, so I believe that says a lot. Also, the Back Porch in Destin was such a fun beachy environment and had great seafood!

Our long weekend at Destin West

My husband and I had a 3-night, 4-day, extended weekend at Destin West. I was very happy with the room and location! The room was adorable, the bed was super comfy, and we had a nice view of the beach! The pools were immaculate - unfortunately, the weather wasn't great, but we were able to enjoy the small heated pool right below our unit, as well as the large hot tub. The beach was just a few steps away, and it's only a short walk to the Okaloosa Island Boardwalk shops. Tons of shopping and restaurants were within a 5 minute drive. The condo had a great little book with activity and restaurant recommendations. The property was very well maintained, and the owner/manager was extremely helpful and communicative. I would absolutely recommend this unit to anyone! We had a great stay. Restaurant recommendations: Another Broken Egg (bfast), Harbor Docks (dinner - YUM!), McGuires (FUN Irish pub), Donut Hole (bfast). Another recommendation, drive a minute down the road to watch the parachute surfers! Amazing!

The Condo was awesome.. Great view.. easy access to the beach. The unit was very clean and "homey". We had the best time. The beaches were so nice and very kept up in front of the Destin West complex. I can't wait to go back. Some wonderful things we did: I was at a conference in Sandestin but I did have the last day free. My husband got to relax in the beach chairs and swim. We walked on the pier at night, listened to a great guy playing guitar at the Ramada next door, ate out every night, and took long beach walks! P.S. Dolphins swam about 25 yds. away from us in the Gulf! Neat!!! And your place is so homey! Thank you so much!

The weather was gorgeous! Beautiful and sunny during the day. Loved the lazy river, laid on the beach everyday. Ate at crab trap capt. Daves on the gulf. Loved having the free beach service-umbrella kept us nice and cool. Watched movies in our room at night. Loved all the pools and lazy river the resort offers. The villa was great for our small family. Also, loved the covered parking deck and being able to park on our floor. It was a perfect vacation!

The weather was beautiful! This was wonderful after not seeing sun at home in LA in days cause of hurricane Gustav. We loved the lazy river the best! At night we went to the Track and rode go-karts and bumper boats. We love it here and can't wait to come back!

The weather was awesome!! High 80's sunny. Partly cloudy. Lots of body boarding-great waves-awesome shells-found 3 huge nautilus shells the size of small apples-went to Panama City Beach. We saw dolphins and lots of jellyfish. Found a great shell at Crab Island-later the next day it was crawling across the counter. Had a great time at night at Baytowne Wharf.

We swam in the ocean, built sandcastles, rode the Sea Blaster and ate at different places Had lots of fun with all the different pools and Lazy River. We were here last year and loved it. We will be back again. We love Destin and love the resort. Everything is so nice and there is so much to do. We'll see you next year!

WOW!!!...what a GREAT place to stay!!! The condo was clean and cheerful. Lots of amenities. Our favorite was the Lazy River!!! The free beach chair/umbrella rental is a nice and convenient bonus. We also liked the walkway over Hwy 98, covered parking and general location - close to restaurants, shopping and fun attractions. We can't wait to go back!!!!!!!
