We fell in love with this place the minute we arrived. Opening all of the blinds and sliding doors fills the house with beautiful light (we left the doors and windows open all weekend to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells). The house itself is bigger than we expected but is divided into cozy areas (with a wonderful view from each). Even the outdoor areas are varied - there are five distinct spaces to sit and relax with a glass of wine or a cup of tea (alone or with others) - six, if you count the hot tub. The water in front is calm - perfect for canoeing (even for the novice or tentative around water – we even managed to persuade our reluctant dog to join us for a few twilight canoe trips) - and taking the short walk to the beach at sunset is about as good as life gets. The kitchen is well designed and easy to find your way around - and has the winning trifecta of sharp knives, good cookware and a gas range top (all too rare in rentals, we've found). Above all, the house is warm and inviting - it is clearly a family home, decorated with mementoes from travels abroad as well as wonderful kid art that is lovingly framed and displayed. There is even a games table surrounded by shelves with every board game you can name We've rented many vacation homes over our 30 years in the Bay Area and this one is a favorite - we are certain that, like us, you will be planning a second visit before you've come to the end of your first stay in this wonderful getaway.

We had nothing but great dealings with the owner, Megan, while arranging our stay. Once arrived, we had the most magnificent time. The house is beautiful, open and spacious. The bedding was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with high-end appliances and staples. We kayaked around the lagoon, road bikes around the property, it was just truly great. I definitely recommend it!

We have stayed at this property twice now for a 3 generation get together. As a frequent VRBO user I would have to say this has been my favorite property by far. The location is ideal, kitchen unbelievably well stocked, wonderful reading materials, cozy and beautifully decorated. The views are amazing! We enjoyed riding bikes, walking to the beach, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and making wonderful meals. Highly recommended!

For the past five years my husband and i have rented this wonderful place for the first two weeks of August. Each year our four children, their spouses and children have rented other lagoon locations for all or part of the same time. We have had many great good times during these stays. Six of the eight cgrandchildren can now kayak, canoe and pole board up and down the lagoon (only the 3-yr old twins are not yet that accomplished. What we cal "our house" is bright and cheery, with becks on both sides. Its location is special because the front side faces Bolinas lagoon, a habitat for seals, egrets and other peaceful creatures, especially at sunset time, while the back deck faces the man-made lagoon where the water is warm and the boating and swimming are glorious. The house is easy walking or biking distance from the big ocean and the long flat walking beach. (Swimming there works only if you have wet suits.) The kitchen is well equipped (gas stove, which I love) and the sub-zero refrig is ample. Furniture is attractive and comfy, and the beach towel supply is endless. This house has two bedrooms. Much as we love the happy times with our children and grandchildren, we love them to have their own houses, so that we can keep the guest room available for our guests or just leave it empty and enjoy quiet moments. We may miss the TV during this coming campaign season, but our computers and the wireless connection and the NY Times can give us the important news. We've made good use of foggy morning walks, trips to the Bovine Bakery and the good Italian restaurant (??) in Point Reyes, and to Nick's Cove north of Pt. Reyes. I would recommend this property to anyone who I think will appreciate and care for it. It is one of the best in the colony. (Just don't plan on the firs two weeks of August!) We look forward to our 2012 time at 147 Dipsea.

An amazingly beautiful spot with breath-taking views from every window. Multiple decks for resting and relaxing to enjoy the view - regardless of the weather. Walking distance to one of California's best beach - Stinson Beach. Definitely a dog friendly getaway with plenty of gorgeous walks and hikes, and a "leash free" beach to enjoy together! A chef's dream kitchen with great light and plenty of work space on the center cooking island. The kitchen is equipped with a great array of cooking utensils and appliances. Gas cook top and a great oven make it an easy place to cook and entertain for family and friends. Private deck off the kitchen ideal for the upscale gas bbq out of the elements. The house is decorated as a comfy, warm and friendly beach house. Really nice hot tub perfect to warm up on a cold day, or to relax after a day of beach fun and hiking. I hope to return year after year!

I've rented many houses at Stinson Beach over the last 20 years, and this one is great. Warm and light, water on both sides, comfortable and lived in, spotlessly clean, friendly. The photos are nice but the house is nicer. The kitchen is well equipped with every cooking gizmo you'd want, and the house well stocked with towels and linens and extra pillows. There are so many different places to sit (4 different deck areas, two living rooms) so you can follow the sun or be quiet with other people in the house. Owners are kind and easy to deal with, and clearly want you to enjoy your stay. I will definitely rent this house again.

My wife and two daughters, along with an occasional mother-in-law or other assorted guests, have stayed a week here each summer for the past few years. The house is perfect: From its placement on the lagoon to the set up of the deck, outdoor cooking or campfire area and the wonderful interior layout...Can't say much more - Love it!

We spent a perfect week at this bright, beautiful, well-stocked home. Its location between the lagoon and the estuary fills the house with light all day long. We loved all the little nooks and corners throughout the house for reading, resting, napping. The native plants all around the house are lovely--the scent of sage greets you every time you step out the front door. We loved the firepit and the comfortable deck outside and made healthy use of the canoes. Thank you so much for a great week!

This is a great place perfectly situated with a small man made lake on one side and a lagoon leading to the ocean on the other side. With floor to ceiling glass on both sides in the main living area it is bright and sunny with nice views no matter where you sit. If you like to kayak, you can go from your dock to the end of the lake and then across the road and put in at the lagoon and paddle out to the ocean or Bolinas. Perfect for two couples and two kids.

We have stayed twice in this beautiful Seadrift home, and plan to return again as soon as possible. This is the most comfortable, nicely furnished and well-situated of the many Seadrift homes we have tried over the years. It is mezmerizing to sit and enjoy the Bolinas Lagoon view from the front of the house, and the back deck over the Seadrift Lagoon is very large and comfortable. It is often protected from the wind so can be nice and warm even on a cool Bay Area day. Being avid cooks we also love the beautiful well-stocked kitchen. Such a comfortable and relaxing place to spend time. Highly recommended!

The house was so much more than I was expecting. There was so much to do that my sons didn't even want to spend time on their laptops. We played games every afternoon and watched movies every night. You could not get bored at this place. The lighting (and deck at night) were awesome. The scenery amazing and refreshing. The bikes were in great shape and we made use of them as well as the kayak. Megan, thanks for sharing your house with us.

My friends and I so much enjoyed our stay at the Seadrift Lagoon rental home that we plan to return in 2008! It is a fabulously designed water front home with ALL the needed amenities. The ambiance is romantically cozy as well as brightly functional and accommodating for a ladies gathering and families alike. We love it!

This was a wonderful retreat and just what we needed. The setting was beautiful (Stinson is one of my favorite getaways) and the house and amenities were great. The first night we got there was a full moon so Terry and I got a couple of blankets, a bottle of bubbly and late at night went down onto the dock, sat in the chairs and watched the moon come up over the lagoon. Since it was a working getaway, the wireless connection had to work well and it did with no problems with me working from the game table in the living room and Terry working from the dining table (we flipped a coin and she won). The natural lighting in the house and the views were perfect. Call me a fool but I didn't get much work done... Highly recommended.

We used this restful retreat as a base for a 3 generation getaway last July. It provided equal enticements for all ages. We told stories around the firepit by night; canoed and caught (and released) crabs by day. Serene views, great gourmet kitchen, and delightful accomodations! We definitely plan to return.

We were blown away to return to this lovely house and find it even better than the last time. The inside is just as cozy, spacious and well-appointed as ever but the addition of the fire pit and the new boat and sunning dock are perfect! My son took the dog for many canoe rides and practiced casting from the dock. The rest of us walked, cooked, ate, hot-tubbed, played games and had a wonderful visit. I can't get over how comfortable you've made this place. Thanks again for sharing it with the rest of us.

We loved our stay at this tranquil, lagoon-side home --- loads of sunlight, colorful and creative decor, cozy reading areas, board games galore, a well- appointed and airy kitchen, canoes for the lagoons, and an easy walk to the beach. Our only regret was leaving the place. We would gladly return in any season!

Last summer we rented Meghan's very special place and was ever so happy with the house as were my daughter, and two granddaughters. Even the dog enjoyed the fun. (There is a great outdoor shower with warm water for washing the dog off after walking on the beach.) Everything worked for us...the hot tub, the kayaking, the canoe, the docks, the fire pit, and all the wonderful wild life. Tough to say if the early morning walks were better than the evening walks. Both were just wonderful. The granddaughters spent most of their time at the swing located at the end of the lagoon, in the hot tub or playing in the surf on the beach. The house is kid friendly with lots of books, games and toys. Also, all the beachs were easily within walking distance. Meghan has done just a fabulous job with stocking the kitchen with everything you need. I felt at house immediately and plan to return. Thanks Meghan.

Wow.......even better than the pictures. This home is amazing. Well equipped, and family friendly. Lots to do. This was probobly the best vacation we have had. We loved catching crabs with the kids off of the dock, and we had a fire and roasted marshmallows each night. Just a walk to the beach, it was much more than we expected, and I was nervous not having been able to actually go and see it for myself. My sisters and I will be regular renters of this gem! Thanks Meghan.

This place is magic! My wife and I stayed there for our wedding anniversary and look forward to doing so again next year. We especially liked the hikes in the Point Reyes National Park. You can't go wrong with the weather - if it is raining or foggy, build a fire; if it is clear, go out on the porch, jump in the hot tup and watch the stars.

April 11, 2005. We just returned from 3 nights at the house. It was great. We have two little ones and the house is very kid friendly. We went kayaking and canoeing every day. The water is literally right off the back deck. There is a 15 minute walk to the beach and the open ocean. The kids enjoyed both very much. We are going back soon. Two thumbs up!!

March 2005 Thanks for making this wonderful retreat available for the rest of us! It rained about half the time we were here but we just cozy'd up and read, played games, cooked and ate and of course hung out in the hot tub. You've created the perfect mix of "feels like home" and a luxurious get away. The water on both sides, canoing in the lagoon, the beach around the corner and the special attention to art and color all contribute to a truly special place to stay. Thanks again for sharing. We'll be back. Meri
