Good Location

Date of Stay: 04/23/12 Review Submitted: 05/10/12

I recently spent 2 weeks in the apartment and it was a great place to stay. It was right next to a metro station and on a good street, with lots of places to eat and fun stores to shop in. There is a farmers market right next door several days a week. The apartment is spacious and very comfortable. We used the free phone quite a bit because our cell phones did not work in Europe. And at the end of a long day the huge bathtub was great to soak in. Only one negative, below is a very popular bar that was quite noisy at times, so bring earplugs if you like to get to bed early. I would definitely stay again. The owner responded quickly to any questions that I had, I also used the limo company she recommended and they were fabulous.

Great Value and Location

We stayed at the apartment for 11 nights over Christmas in 2011. The apartment is in a great location close to markets and the Metro and it was easy to get around. We found the apartment very comfortable with a good kitchen and terrace and was adequately appointed and spacious. We would recommend it to anyone planning a visit.

Good value in Paris

Guest: Australian family abroad (Macleod, Australia)
Date of Stay: 12/05/11 Review Submitted: 01/08/12

We stayed in this apartment for a week in December 2011. The location was fantastic, right near a Metro station and close to shops. The support from the owner was terrific; any questions or requests, the owner responded to quickly and effectively. The apartment is large for Paris - we were a family of five and there was plenty of room for everyone. The property was clean, but basic. Paris is expensive, particularly if you are travelling with five people, and this was good value.

We stayed at this apartment in October 2011 and found it comfortable, clean and well located. Between the Marais and the Bastille and in walking distance of many famous Paris icons. It is very quiet (for Paris Standards) and the owner was very helpful on arrival. Good place for a family or 4 adults.

Excellent Family Apartment

Guest: Cate A. (Queensland, Australia)
Date of Stay: 03/31/11 Review Submitted: 04/25/11

We stayed here in April with our two sons, aged 10 and 7. Yes, the furniture's a bit shabby - but it was very comfortable. The bedrooms are at opposite ends of the apartment so there's plenty of privacy. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals - even a trolley to take to the markets. The free phone calls were definitely a bonus and Even include Australia on the free list. The location is outstanding. From the apartment, you can see the markets at Place Monge (3 times per week) as well as the metro station. The Rue Mouffetard is just a couple of blocks away and has an amazing range of restaurants, creperies, etc. The Jardin des Plantes is also a very short walk away and our boys enjoyed visiting the menagerie there. We certainly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for comfortable, family accommodation. Just one word of warning.....if arriving by metro and carrying a suitcase, there are a LOT of steps up to street level at Place Monge. We caught a taxi but did see a number of people struggling with the stairs.

Convenient home base for family of four

Guest: pam (detroit mi)
Date of Stay: 02/19/11 Review Submitted: 03/17/11

This apartment was our spacious home for a week. Room to spread out, a washer/dryer and a dishwasher top the list of features. Each of our two teenagers had a bed--no sleeper couches required. The decor was a bit shabby--paint and furniture would really help. The metro is very very close. There are convenient restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries and more. I have recommended this apartment to my friends and family.

adequate accommodations

We enjoyed the location and spaciousness of this apartment. We thought that it could have been a little cleaner. The beds were a little uncomfortable and the pillows were totally flat squares. With a little more care in choice of linens, pillows etc. and a cleaner apartment, this place could have potential. The pub downstairs did get noisy. We were happy with the responsiveness of the owner and her contacts in Paris. We found the computer to be a great bonus including the free phone calls back home to family. The bakery on Place Monge and the cafes across the street were terrific.

2 weeks at 54 de la Clef

Guest: Jack (portland oregon usa)
Date of Stay: 05/29/10 Review Submitted: 07/01/10

As advertised. Spacious, light, quiet, well equipped. Within 100 yards of a Metro station and a 3-times-a-week farmers' market. The immediate neighborhood is lackluster, but rue Mouffetard is a 5-minute walk away and the Metro line can get you almost anywhere in Paris with no more than one transfer. Julie is very responsive to requests. It is sparsely furnished and in need of refurbishing, but Julie says it will be refurbished in November 2010. Yes we would return and recommend it to our friends.

A Perfect Location

Date of Stay: 05/10/10 Review Submitted: 05/18/10

We were two friends and our teenage daughters travelling to Paris from Minnesota, USA. The apartment is situated in a quiet neighborhood with quick access to the markets, dining, pubs, bakeries and the metro just across the street. Just a two minute walk from the excitement of the Latin Quarter. The apartment is spacious with two bedrooms. One bedroom has two beds and the other opens up to the terrace. The toilet is separate from the bathroom which was very helpful with four women getting ready each morning. THe bathtub and seperate shower, two vanities, and cleanliness were appreciated. The kitchen was fully equipped with pretty white dishes and all the utensils you might need. Having a computer and phone was a nice touch as our cell phones from America did not work. Nice to be able to keep in touch with our families home in Minnesota. In the evening we were fortunate to have enough space to entertain my sister and her three boys who live nearby. Lots of room to seat 10 people in the spacious living/dining room for eating and conversing. When we ran out of food or wine it was a two minute trip to the nearby Italian market or grocer - whatever you desire is a stones throw away. The owner/contact person was extremely easy to work with, returned messages quickly and assisted with the coordination. The building is secure and the caretaker made it easy to gain access. I didn't need to contact them during our short stay but would have felt very comfortable calling if any needs did arise. We stumbled upon many exciting attractions in the neighborhood. One was an ancient Roman arena built in the 1st century. It is now a park and place for children to play soccer. I will certainly hope to stay at this perfect location again.

April in Paris

We were a group of 5, my husband, our 3 granddaughters (1 adult and 2 teenagers) and me. We found the apartment to be perfect for our needs. The bedroom down the hall was quiet and away from the living area so we could sleep while our granddaughters skyped their friends in the spacious living/dining area. Free wifi was definitely a plus. The second bedroom has a double bed and a single bed which accommodated the girls quite nicely. We prepared several meals in and found the kitchen to be well equipped. The location is terrific. Rue Mouffetard is just a short walk, and it has many small shops, including pastry shops and delicatessens that sell rotisserie chickens and other prepared foods. There are also two "supermarkets" along the Rue Mouffetard and a wonderful sandwich shop at the bottom of the hill, around the corner. Place Monge is less than a block away and has open markets several times a week as well as a Metro station and a bus stop. The apartment owner was very responsive to our questions and our needs. All-in-all a wonderful stay! We would rent this apartment again in a heartbeat!

This was a delightful flat in a very pleasant part of Paris. It was bigger than we expected, with a spacious lounge/dining area, a well equipped kitchen and large bathroom in addition to two bedrooms, one of which opened onto a deck. The flat was less than 100m from the Place Monge, with a metro station and bus stops, and where there was a market two or three times a week. The Jardin de Plantes was a short walk away and the Left Bank district around the Sorbonne was a 15 minute walk or a couple of metro stops away. Lots of shops nearby and a good supermarket a few hundred metres down the road. Everything worked, it was comfortable and the owner was pleasant and easy to deal with. Recommended

Three travel companions stayed at Rue de la Clef from September 15-20, 2009. The apartment and its location were ideal for our needs. The one problem was not having enough keys for three independent travelers coming and going at different times. We were provided one set and managed to concoct a second from among assorted, unmarked keys in a box. This would have been a small issue, but I had broken three ribs at Charles De Gaulle immediately before arrival. That meant treatment at the convenient Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire clinic nearby and, while recuperating, my being unable to do nearly as much vigorous touring as the others. However, lack of keys was our only inconvenience. Mme. Lebrand and Sr. Raul Ramirez were extremely helpful. We would recommend the apartment, and we hope to return.

Plenty of space for 2 young children; safe, close to stores/restuarants

We are a family of husband, wife, and two 9 year old children. It rained the 4 days we were in Paris in April...so to have an apt as an option rather than a small hotel room---it was heaven. Even with the rain, we all had enough space to avoid grumpiness. The children could play with Legos, cards, small cars, while stretched out on the living room floor, I could read sitting on a couch, my husband could use his laptop (wireless provided) at the dining table. A bedroom for adults (privacy), and 1 for children---children not on a fold out couch but on real beds. Not luxurious, but homey, lots of floor to ceiling windows, very bright even on rainy days. The kitchen was very updated, stocked with cookware, plates, etc. We could cook a dinner of pasta rather than spending $18/per plate! Each morning my husband walked a few blocks and we had fresh, hot croissants (this is what my children remember most). The metro is 2 blocks away, Notre Dame is easy 10 min walk, safe, pleasant area, find out where the local grocery store is, 4-5 blocks at the most, and buy some basics. Washer in the apt was great...we found a laundromat 2 blocks away and used the dryers there (due to the constant rain). Restaurant area just across the green is wonderful, we didn't find it until our last day, many small restaurants, and shops, pedestrian style. Very clean, photos completely accurate. Reliable contact with landlord if needed. Note: there was a bar/restaurant below us, which you can see on Google Maps. We never ONCE heard a peep from it---no noise problem, totally safe. It was actually a plus for us as I didn't have to worry about my children's footsteps disturbing someone below. Completely Wonderful experience ! Due to the location of the building on a side street, 2 blocks from the main street, it was so much quieter than when we have stayed on a main boulevard or large side street---windows are open and traffic & trash pick up had been a problem but here it was QUIET. Ideal location in every respect; neighborhood, metro, shops/safety.

Springtime in Paris. It was as good as it sounds. Our party of 4 adults had our first visit to Paris in April 2008. The area is beautiful & so convenient. The metro, street market, cafes, patisseries, etc were within walking distance. We found the apartment clean, spacious & loved congregating in the huge living room each evening after our adventures in Paris to reminisce & plan our next day. The living room looks out over the street & you can see the metro stop, street market and neighborhood Parisians living their daily lives. The apartment had basically everything we needed including a full kitchen, spacious bathroom, certainly manageable for the 3 women on our trip. We would definitely recommend this apartment on Rue de la Clef. Ms. LeBrand was well organized & communicated promptly. She is so easy to work with. We had no problems while we were there. We look forward to going back.

We had four in our party when we stayed at 54 Rue de la Clef last October. I had searched around for accommodations and felt that this was the best deal. It was large enough to comfortably house us and was a super location in Paris. I loved how close the metro station was. And it was an easy connection to any station in the city. Although the apartment was very spartan in decor, it served our needs well. We would definitely look at staying here again. The only downside was that we had to provide our own soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and dish soap. But there turned out to be a great little grocery store just down the street that had everything we needed.

We stayed in the apartment over Christmas and had a wonderful time in Paris. We have a family of 5 and it was great being able to spread out when returning from a day of playing tourist. The Metro is close and the neighborhood was a neat place in which to wander and shop. One of the features we liked the most was the complete kitchen - I was able to cook dinner every night. We even made a traditional turkey dinner on Christmas Day. My son (living in Versailles for the year) was so happy to eat “regular meals” cooked by someone other than him!

We stayed on rue de la clef in May 2008. The apartment is very spacious and the accommodation are adequate. The terrace off the master bedroom is a nice touch. The neighborhood is very nice, with all the convenience nearby (grocery stores, patisserie, bank). The location of the apartment is great, the metro is very close by, the apartment is close enough to the attractions that even a taxi is not exorbitant.

We had a wonderful week in this apartment on rue de la Clef. My husband and our 2 sons and I had everything we needed: a very spacious 2 bedrooms, huge living room, full kitchen, spacious bathroom with 2 sinks, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV. The location was unbelievably perfect. From our window you could see the open air market at Place Monge, which had me in heaven. Just walk out our door and steps away, just past the cute cafe on the corner, was the market with fabulous fruits, veggies, fresh fish and meats, cheeses, breads. We should have eaten in more! Also steps away was the Place Monge metro stop. Just around the corner was a wonderful boulangerie, and 2 blocks up you meet rue Mouffetard and Place de la Contrescarpe, one of my favorite streets in Paris.Ms. LeBrand was very gracious over emails and very easy to work with, and we had absolutely no problems when we were there. This apartment became part of our memories of a wonderful trip to Paris, and the first for our kids. hopefully the first of many.

I stayed at the apartament the last week of May with my wife, my 2 kids (9 and 11) and my mom. What a great place. It was nice, roomy and in such a great location. We had the metro stop across the street although we were so close to the main attractions we walked mostly. There was also a great market next door every other day that we bought our daily fruit, vegetables and cheese. The shops around us were all very residential in feel yet incredibly nice to us. We actually made a point to visit one to say au revoir on our last day since we felt such a connection. I would recommend this apartment to anyone going to Paris and look forward to our next stay there.

Our party of four (adult women)enjoyed the flat during the second week of October. The location was perfect being a stone's throw from the metro and within walking distance to several attractions. The neighborhood was lovely with the specialty shops and open market. The flat was spacious, clean and accomodating. We recommend this flat for your visit - we will certainly try to secure this lodging for our next visit to Paris.

We had an extraordinary stay at Rue de la Clef during our vacation in June. It was our first visit to Paris, and we were very pleased to find the metro so close that we could see it from the window. We wanted a bit more space than most apartments offered, and we found the apartment to be VERY roomy and comfortable. Since the weather was lovely, we threw open the many windows and enjoyed the sunshine and mild temperatures. We also loved being so close to the open air market where we could ask the vendors to recommend wine and cheese, and we enjoyed pain au chocolat every morning at the nearby boulangerie where the owner was very pleasant. Mme. Lebrand and M. Ramirez were very flexible when our arrival arrangements kept changing. Altogether, it was an amazing vacation in a very spacious, comfortable, attractive and conveniently located apartment.

This is a great apartment. Its large, clean and in a great neighborhood. Four of us spent a week there and it was a memorable expierence. Both bedrooms were clean, quiet and conmfortable. The living room was a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing and a fun place to have diner and drink wine. Plus you save lots of money since you dont have to go to the restaurants. I highly recommend this place and the owner was really nice since she sent me back a sweater than I forgotten there. I definitely recommend this place. Feel free to ask me any questions.

We loved the apt on Rue de la Clef! It was our first time in Paris, and the location was perfect! Close to the river, street markets, restaurants, subway stations, grocery stores, gardens and parks, taxi stand, and the original "Road to Rome". There are 3 bakeries within 1/2 block! And all of this within walking distance to Notre Dame and Ille St. Louis, home of the most delicous ice cream anywhere. The terrace was wonderful for breakfast and the early evening glass of wine. Comfy beds and quiet neighborhood. Huge main living room and large kitchen made it easy for our party of 4 to live very comfortably. Mrs. Lebrand couldn't have been nicer. She was accomodating and very helpful and accessible before and during our stay. Check the location out online via satellite (ie google earth). You can pinpoint the exact building and know your way around before you even get there.

We could not have picked a better place to stay in when we were in paris in June. We took our three children aged 9, 13 and 15. It suited our needs especially with the separate toilet and the double basin in the bathroom. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was alot bigger than I had expected. My wife is a light sleeper but we never heard noise at night- I think everyone heard us though!!! The location was fantastic. We could sit at the dining table and look across to the metro and the market. Everything that we needed was at our doorstep. I highly recommend rue la clef, especially for families. Our children definitely want to go back again!

Dear Mrs Lebrand, What a pleasurable time the "four ladies" had in Paris! A good part of that experience was coming "home" at the end of each adventure, where we could relax and plan for our next outing. Your location also was a help, as we could easily find our way about on foot in your neighborhood. That was especially true for the out-door markets and cafes. One never quite knows what to expect in someone else's apartment, but we could highly recommend " Rue de la Clef" to anyone who is looking for a charming, well furnished, comfortable, and convenient apartment in the 5th arr.!!! My grandaughter, McKenzie Emily, became more at ease each day in a city environment and with her father's camera in hand, was our resident photograper for our stay. She was most impressed with I M Pei's Pyramid and the Louvre, and the gardens & musee de Rodin!!! Indeed she said, " this was the best 16th birthday celebration in the world"!!!!! Merci a vous un mille fois, Mary ellen
