Casa Carlita was everything we could have hoped for and more. It was very clean, in a very convenient location, and I cannot wait to stay there again. We were met at the airport and show directly to the property, which is just down the street from a grocery store and approximately two blocks from both the beach and the main road. Whether we were enjoying the accommodations at the home (the pool, wifi, TV, and a great DVD collection) or coming back to rest after a long day out, Casa Carlita treated us very well. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in Cozumel!

I just returned from my second stay at Casa Carlita, and I will be back again and again. My first stay was with a girlfriend in October 2009 and the last was with my son and daughter-in-law. They all love the property as much as I do. The house is very comfortable and is well stocked with everything you need in the kitchen, plenty of beach towels and blankets, floaties for the pool, bottled water, and an extensive dvd & video collection, among other amenities. The Vonnage telephone is great for keeping in touch with family in the U.S. and there’s another telephone for local use. The wifi signal is excellent & we were able to use my laptop as well as cell phones & Ipad set for wifi reception. The housekeeper, Guadalupe, keeps the place spotless. On several days of our vacation, we slept in and Guadalupe rearranged her schedule so could clean later in the day so she wouldn’t disturb us. Also, after we were quoted an outrageous taxi fare, she helped us find an affordable taxi to one of the beaches on the southern end of the island. Her help was greatly appreciated. The house is conveniently located. It’s only a block to Chedraui and about 3-4 blocks to Mega for groceries. We walked to and from downtown many times, roughly a 10-15 minute trek. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and the wall around the courtyard makes the pool and patio area very private. The pool is immaculate and welcoming after a hot day exploring the island. I highly recommend Casa Carlita. It’s perfect for 2 people, 2 couples, a family with children. I’d give the property 6 stars if I could.

Carla, The visit to your home was once again AWESOME. I feel so at home in your house. I love what you have done to the place. I especially love the outdoor shower. I actually used it most of the trip. My sister was with me this time and she is hooked, just as I am. Thank you sooooooo much for letting us stay at your home. Guadalupe is the sweetest person and Victor was most helpful. I wanted to bring them both back home with me. I am seriously considering retiring to Cozumel. I love it down there. Dear Carla, I want to thank you so much for the lovely stay that my son and I enjoyed in Cozumel. We had continued on to a timeshare resort for the next couple of nights in Playa, and although it was incredibly expensive it in no way compared to the elegant, comfortable, safe and quiet that I found so appealing at Casa Carlita. Victor was truly ever so helpful, and I think Guadalupe is a beautiful lady, and very gracious. They add to the atmosphere of a well balanced and content living. A little late in posting, but wanted to post my impressions of my stay at Casa Carlita. I first stayed at Carlita about 6 years ago. I quite liked it because of the location and it was very peaceful. I had tried several more times to return, but it was always booked and I can see why, I lucked out and had a 2 week stay the first two weeks of April. I loved and appreciated the improvements - outdoor shower was great for rinsing after using the pool, the vonage and internet, lots of dvds and books. I have stayed in all types of properties on the island in town - some fairly "high end", but I must say Casa Carlita by far is probably the best stocked. Lots of towels, good beach/outdoor furniture, a well stocked kitchen with lots of dishes, cooking utensils, pots and pans, etc., (even spices), first aid kit, I could go on and on. Property is spotless, great area, extremely safe, fantastic location. The owners have ensured that any guests have all the comforts of home and then some and have thought of everything. The weather was hotter than usual, but the a/c and ceiling fans are great and the house is kept spotless - very important, especially in hot and humid conditions. I wouldn't call this a complaint, but would not be adverse to a larger screen tv in the living area, not that a great deal of time was spent in front of the tv. Owner was very flexible and accommodating and all questions and requests were actioned immediately. I was so pleased with the property, that I am returning for another stay later in the summer.

We just got back from a week stay in Casa Carlita, and we could not have been happier. This is a beautiful, well-maintained, fully stocked house that has everything you could ask for. The location was perfect for us, only a couple minutes walk away from our dive shop and main plaza. In addition, the island representative that the management company assigned to us went well above and beyond to make sure we had an outstanding experience. He was there for us whenever we had any questions, and he set up any activities we were interested in doing.

I was very very impressed by the way you have maintained your villa: very well organized. Victor and Maria( housekeeper whom I named Maria) were very helpful and especially Maria who would sometimes help me with chopping vegetables, such a delight. I have come with alot of good memories and longings( yes, I wish I can come back again). I miss sitting and sipping tea near the pool in the veranda. Myself, my husband and his adult son stayed at this property 8-23 - 8/27, 2010. We thought this home was furnished more than adequately. It had a great kitchen, master bedroom and plenty of closet space. There was so much entertainment available in the home. DVD, TV, CD,wireless internet, books, cards, games, IPOD dock. Anything you could think of to do was there. The vonage phone was a nice plus. Being able to call the states was very nice. We made use of it several times. The management company representative was excellent. Met us at the airport as planned. Helped us with excursions and transportation.He was always a phone call away. He was prompt, polite and friendly. The housekeeper was great. The pool was also cleaned while we were there. There are plenty of towels and blankets. The air conditioning is excellent. The pool even has floats. This home is complete. I had packed facial tissues and bar soap, but I didn't need to, they were in the house. We were so pleased with our experience and plan another stay at this property.

Hi Carla, We had a great time and the house was wonderful. The amenities were super and the house was so clean. The layout was perfect for our family of four. We enjoyed the movies when we came in at night, the pool was great and much enjoyed too. I have told my friends it was the best vacation we have had. My husband, son, daughter in law & I just returned from Coz, whole week of diving for us with Pancho of Pancho Diving Adventures (Our family has been diving here since 1983) & Pancho is the best on the island for both experienced and novice divers, been diving with him for many past vacations. Oops, back to Casa Carlita, lovely and comfortable villa....photos do not do justice to actual home & location. Great shower next to big dive gear rinse tank across from just the right sized pool. Beds are very comfortable & amenities very accommodating. I definitely would recommend Casa Carlita. Carla was very informative and gracious. We've rented villas in Coz for previous dive vacations and these were good rentals, however.... Casa Carlita is our favorite & we will be back! Lupita & Victor are just as precious and caring as always; they both worked at another villa we rented 3 years ago in Coz. Our last night in Coz, we cooked for Pancho & his family. Casa Carlita was equipped for cooking and visiting for all 16 people, (very kid friendly for their children) lots of good cookware, stove, oven.....all that & room to cook & visit. Internet phone & internet availability was big +......Location is great: tiny walk to Chedrau Market where next door we rented scooters (gotta go to East side) and so near the water.At the front door, Xavier, had chocolate, creme and apple turos....all hot & yummy every morning! All the info & photos available on the listing are as good as it gets via pics but so much better when you get there! The only bad part of this trip was leaving. My husband, son & daughter in law so loved the villa, perfect for divers, near EVERYTHING...The villa photos do not do justice to Casa Carlita....Dive rinse & shower next to it was so easy to use. We rented scooters 2 blocks away, same spot as Chedrau Groc. Lupita was so sweet & Victor always on call & ready to help; lovely home truly enhanced our vac. Swimming pool is great, just right size for all of us. Sonny's been diving since 1983, me since 1995, our son since 2003 & daughter in law just certified in June '10. We were able to locate Pancho who we dived with last Coz trip in 2007; Pancho now owns PANCHO'S DIVING ADVENTURES so we located him on his website PanchosDivingAdventures.com & got his e mail Pancho@PanchosDivingAdventures.com....was awesome dives for experienced divers and new divers alike. We had a complete great vac....If you want to vacation Coz (we always return), suggest you dive with Pancho; rent Carla's Casa Carlita (best of any villa we've rented in Coz & we always rent a villa); & dine at least once at El Moro's where my daughter in law and I were invited in the kitchen to observe the cooks work their magic. Our last night in Coz, we had Pancho & his family over to Casa Carlita; my daughter in law & I cooked for everyone. The villa was equipped with more than adequate cookware, dinnerware and space to cook for & intertain 10 adults and 4 children.The only bad time we had was saying "goodbye"; Gracias, nuestro amiga bueno, Carla, deseele solo & marido podria haber estado con nosotros. Gracias otra vez.

My wife and I been to Cozumel several times in the past but our recent stay topped them all. We arrived to Casa Carlita after renting a Jeep and drove straight to the house to be welcomed by Victor and Guadalupe, the home's attendants. They accommodated anything we needed i.e. best places to visit, eat or shop. In fact Victor told us a local place that sold Tacos late for $1 USD. The home was well appointed and had plenty of the little extras you would not think to have such as food storage containers, and a collections of DVDs which we enjoyed. We swam everyday even late at night with all the privacy we wanted. Besides the house being 110% recommendable, I really enjoyed the company and hospitality that Gradalupe and Addie gave us while they came to clean the home every morning. Graudalupe spoke very highly of the owner Carla and mentioned how well she treated her. I find this very commendable, now my wife and kids said, “from this point on, every time we come to Cozumel, Mexico we want to stay at Casa Carlita.” We highly recommend any family who wants to visit Cozumel should stay at Casa Carlita and discover this little island secret. Carla, we thank you for allowing my family to stay at your home and giving us a memorable family vacation experience.

My husband and I and our good friends took a diving vacation to Cozumel May 1-8. We stayed at Casa Carlita. This is a beautiful, two bedroom home that was close to our dive shop, a grocery, and downtown. We rented a convertible Volkswagen bug so we could tour the "wild side" of the island. Casa Carlita was a gem from the moment we started making plans to go to Cozumel from our home in Kansas to the moment Pedro drove us back to the airport. We booked our reservation online and communicated back and forth with the owners several times. The owners answered all our questions via phone and email and mailed us a detailed packet of information about the house and the island. We were met at the airport by Pedro, who had to wait for over an hour for us to go through immigration! Pedro let us into the house and stayed to show us the amenities, explain the phones,and recommend area restaurants and attractions. Pedro checked in on us several times during the week. The house is perfect for two couples! It has a large master suite with its own bath and a good sized second bedroom with a bathroom right outside bedroom door. It even had a small office with a daybed. There are extra touches throughout the house-tons of towels, ironing board, hair dryers, a great movie and book selection, and both long distance and local phones. The living area, dining room and kitchen are together so you can relax and visit with ease. The kitchen was fully stocked, including bottled water. We choose to buy groceries and make our own breakfast and snacks and ate one big meal in town. The maid took care of cleaning the kitchen so by the time we returned from our morning dive the house was spotless. The outside patio area included a small soaking pool with lounge chairs and a table, an outside shower, and soak tank. The patio is fully enclosed and very private. We will definitely return to Casa Carlita. We are thinking of returning in June 2011.

We have traveled to Cozumel 25 times over the past 18 years and have stayed at a few hotels repeatedly, primarily the Intercontinental Presidente. In the past 6 years we have stayed at the Casa Carlita exclusively for a total of 16 weeks and enjoyed every day of. It is an absolutely wonderful small villa, within easy and safe walking distance of the supermarkets, the downtown area of San Miguel as well as the sites to be picked up by dive operations. There is so much to like about the Casa Carlita. It is relatively quiet(for Mexico). With the doors and windows closed and a little AC going, it is very quiet( even during Carnival). The furnishings are very nice, the beds are very comfortable and the floor plan is great. (Seperate bedrooms and baths). The kitchen is extremely well stocked with everything one would need to cook, if so desired. ( I think Londa has used every pot, pan,dish bowl and utensil during our stays). The small patio and pool are quite nice and private. We have found a quiet dip in the pool after a days diving and being in the sun just exquisite. Carla Hanson, the owner, is very attentive to details and has made her "CozumelHome" your's while you stay there. Lupita, the maid is wonderful and keeps the house spotless along with the grounds. We have a long standing "love affair" with Cozumel and would not think of staying anywhere else. The Casa Carlita has become "our home away from home" when we travel to Cozumel.

Five of us (2 couples and a single friend) stayed at Casa Carlita for 1 week. Both bedrooms were equally nice and the "den" was very comfortable for our friend. We loved it so much, and hope that it will be available to us when we return. We love Cozumel and have vacationed here about 5 times. We've stayed at Fiesta Americana, Iberostar, homes on the beach and in town and Casa Carlita is above and beyond all others! The owners are a pleasure to work with. Carla loves her guests and wants to be sure everyone is happy and comfortable and has everything needed. She was such a help to me personally when I came down with a sinus infection. She also assisted us in retrieving an expensive sport coat that we unintentionally left behind. The kitchen is so well equipped, I thought I was home! Extra towels and blankets were more than plentiful and all available for our use. We enjoyed the use of the cooler, grill and tons of DVD's for those rainy days! The safe in the home was nice, but honestly we never worried about our laptops, camera and ipods when we weren't there. The home is in a great location, close to the grocery store and on a quiet street. We will definitely return to Casa Carlita!!

I have been to Cozumel 4 times and Casa Carlita is, by far, the best place I have stayed while I was there. My husband and I were lucky enough to stay there for our honeymoon and everything was perfect! The staff treated us like royalty and the accomodations were even better than we expected. The pictures really don't do it justice! We can't wait to go back!

My wife and I stayed for two weeks at Casa Carlita and loved it. The location was ideal for us: walking distance or a short drive to town, but far enough away from the cruise-shippers that we quickly felt like Cozumelenos. The casa is also very close to two large grocery/department stores, which was extremely convenient for 'emergency' food and drink trips. The staff on the island were very attentive and helpful when called upon, and nearly invisible otherwise. Carla was great about giving us advice on all sorts of things (via email), and having free phone calls was a real plus for calls back to Canada over the holidays. BTW, if you like churros, you'll have to be careful about your intake: Javiar, the local churro man delivers them fresh to your door daily - ridiculously tasty. Bottom line is that Casa Carlita's owners care about this property and their guests. Highly recommended.

Casa Carlita was perfect for my 1 week vacation with my husband and two teenage sons. The management company, maid, house representative and owner made us feel very welcomed. Beyond the house being expertly maintained and clean it was centrally located so you could walk to just about everything. The grocery store that is nearby was great and saved us quite a bit of money by only having to eat out once a day (dinner). If you do want to eat out there are several restaurants in walking distance. I've always stayed in hotels so staying at a "Casa" was definitely something different for my family and I. I did not miss one thing a hotel has to offer because Casa Carlita offered everything plus the personal touch of great customer service. My vacation was phenomenal and I believe a large part was feeling so at home! I highly recommend you stay there & take in everything Cozumel has to offer!

I did extensive research on where to say in Cozumel. I'm extremely picky and since I'm a mom I needed to make sure the area would be ideal for my husband & I and our 2 teenage sons. Let me tell you, it was! The 4 of us agreed the house was absolutely perfect!! We literally had not one complaint. These are the reasons why: 1) Location, location, location! --in very close walking distance to the grocery store, a larger grocery store is slightly further but still in walking distance. Taxi's are very affordable since the house was nearby most of the hot spots. Great restaurants very close by like Jimmy Buffet's, Rock & Java, Jeanie's. 2) Home felt very secure w/the gate & the safe in the bedroom. Nice to know I don't have to worry about my passport & pesos while being a tourist. 3) The casa has everything....no need to bring your beach towels, don't worry about bringing any entertainment because the DVD collection was quite impressive! The rooms were very comfortable & the home has great decor. Extremely clean! A/C in the bedrooms and living area worked great! 4) Knowing I could call the house representative at anytime, 24hrs gave me great peace of mind. When you are in a different country it's nice to know you have a contact close by to help. 5) Internet connection!!! Bring your laptop. We were there for 1 week and I will most definitely recommend staying at Casa Carlita.

Paradise Found!

We've been to Cozumel 6 times and have stayed in resorts, a hotel and houses. Casa Carlita is above and beyond our previous accommodations. It's private and sleeps 5 (our party) very comfortably. Kitchen has everything you need including every utensil known to man or chef! Phone calls to home (US) were free and greatly appreciated as I came down with a sinus infection from a coughing, sneezing woman on the airplane and needed to call my Dr. I emailed Carla for advice and she immediately called me at the house. Victor showed up a couple of hours later with great advice for me. I received antibiotics and was on the mend the same day! Each morning we spent making big breakfasts with dvd's playing! Can't think of a dvd not there! Great for our 1 rainy afternoon. Each day we grabbed beach towels & blankets (available in abundant supply) and headed for the beach! Could not believe the cabinet stocked full of all kinds of towels and blankets... it was great! We loved having the cooler available and took it to the beach too. The safe was nice to have and big enough for our laptop and other small valuables. Anyone who chooses this home will not regret it! I honestly have nothing negative to say at all. I think that the owners should have a "guest book" available at the house! I know there are lots of other people who loved Casa Carlita like we did and would love to read and write about it. We will return, most definitely. And... honestly, we did not know the owners prior to our rental. Carla is welcome to email me if she wants a reference or to just give a review to someone trying to decide on homes. I'm happy to tell others of our experience at Casa Carlita.

We are repeat guests to Casa Carlita and have loved every stay at this home, and home is it what it truly is for us. We feel so comfortable there! The home is well-maintained, extremely clean and the location suits us perfectly. We like being in the neighborhood with the locals. We walk to restaurants throughout the downtown area and rent a car from Isis for our trips out around the island throughout the day. Upon our return, we can rinse off our snorkel equipment in the outdoor shower and jump in the pool for a refresher. The privacy wall is another added benefit as we feel we are completely secluded. The maid is wonderful and Victor was available to us if we needed anything. The kitchen has all of the supplies you would need if you would choose to cook a meal (I don't cook much at home so I surely don't do it on vacation.) If you always stay in hotels when traveling, I would highly encourage you to try Casa Carlita. We had been to Cozumel on several cruise, then stayed at the Fiesta American several times before finding this Villa. We travel to Cozumel about once a year and I would return more often if I could talk my husband into it. With all of this said, I hope the home isn't so popular that it isn't available to us when we want to stay. ENJOY!

The photos and description do not do the home justice. The kitchen was fully stocked. Free phone service to the US and Mexico. A large movie and cd library. American tv. Tons of extra linens. Comfortable furniture inside and out. Beautifully decorated.The home and grounds spotless. Quiet location but close to everything. No washer and dryer but who wants to do laundry while on vacation, we just dropped ours off on our way out in the morning and picked it up on the way back home. The management company met us at the airport, made themselves available to us during our stay and even got us back to the airport! The diving is spectacular and inexpensive. Beaches are beautiful and water warm. Casper's tour at the Tequila Factory is alot of fun. Our favorite restaurant was Costa Bravo for breakfast and dinner. Cannot wait to get back, bringing my daughter and her family this year.

Hello Carla and Craig, We have been regular visitors to the island of Cozumel since 1984, and we have always enjoyed our experiences there. Our recent two week stay at Casa Carlita was quite wonderful. Of all the houses we have rented over the past six years (in Cozumel and Bucerias): we can say, without reservation, that we enjoyed our stay at the Casa Carlita most of all. The layout of both the house and the enclosed yard are very welll done. The bedrooms are both spacious and very attractive. The living area, dining area, and kitchen are certainly significantly more than adequate. The enclosed yard also provides areas for both sun and shade during the day. The pool is a wonderful treat, for a quick dip when it is just too hot outside. Of note, the sharp "vegetable peeler", and every required /cooking utensil was provided along with numerous quality frying pans. There was also an ample supply of plates,glasses,silverware,mugs,etc. It's great, for those of us who like to cook and eat in some days! The availability of the TV's,CD players, games,movies,CD's, sewing kits,etc,etc.,was also quite thoughtful. The maid, Guadalupe, was top notch: and A.J( from property management)was also attentive.
