This is a fabulous high end condo, with our total remodel just completed mid-June 2009. This is an exclusive unit and only rents monthly. It is beautifully furnished, stainless steel Kitchen Aid appliances (and a Bosch dishwasher), fully tiled bathrooms with framless glass doors, well equipped kitchen, and we have even left our favorite serving dishes and decor out for you to enjoy. We spared no expense!
This lovely spacious condominium is in the coveted corner location. It is gorgeous! It has the most beautiful view of the bay. The whole west wall is glass and you see water from floor to horizon, blue skies from horizon to ceiling. Look south viewing shoreline, migrating birds, an island, Causeway view, or look due west for the daily main event-the sunset, watch windsurfers colorful sails race over the water. Located bay front 2.9 miles north of the bridge, on Cora Lee Street.
Want to bring your boat with you to the island? This is the place, and world class fishing too. A windsurfer? There is an on site sail loft for storing your sails. Need new gear, want to take lessons, or learn to kite sail? Windsurf Inc. is next door, you can even run an account! You can walk to the beach! Schlitterbahn amusement park is close by. Watch birds as they stop to rest on their migratory journey, over 300 species possible.
You will feel right at home with this spacious relaxed floor plan. It is a very friendly complex, not your typical resort packed with partiers. There are many regulars that return year after year. Many Homeowners live inland and escape to the island on the weekends. There is a lot of comradry and always someone willing to lend you a hand or share information.

- Oceanfront: Our condo is on the bulk head directly overlooking the Laguna Madre. This is part of the Gulf Of Mexico. You can watch everything from here! The boat docks have a Lanai over the water for reading or having a Sundowner (Cocktail at Sunset). There is a fish cleaning station. For windsurfers there is a beachy launch site. No launching from a dock as you would at most of the condo complexes.

- This is a favorite spot for Winter Texans. The Hot Spot for windsurfers both spring & fall, with average wind speeds over 25 knots. And a boaters paradise with world class fishing. And a Summer Escape for those that live inland.
- Suitability
- No Pets Allowed: Sorry. This is a Condominium Association rule. Only homeowners are allowed to have pets within condos. This is a small complex so if you think you can sneak fido in you need to think again. There will be a $250 cleaning fee and immediate eviction without a refund for bringing along your four legged friend.

- Minimum Age Limit for Renters: Absolutely no Spring Breakers!!!!!!!!!!
- Smoking Not Allowed: THANK YOU FOR NOT SMOKING. :) Hubby has PFD and is severly allergic to smoke. People have tried but are always discovered. BEWARE!! $150/night up-charge if we discover that you have smoked within our condo.

Why the Owner Chose Tierra Encantada
We first discovered South Padre Island in 1989 when we visited there to do some windsurfing as we were told it's some of the best. We fell in love! We love Colorado but missed the water. Wanting water that was warm we found South Padre Island to be our perfect compliment to our mountain living. We can watch sunsets and the causeway lights at night, migrating birds, or windsurf or go boating right from our condo complex.
After 3 more trips, with the thought of a winter residence for retirement, we decided to buy a second home there. Though we had always stayed on the Gulf side with it's beautiful beaches, we kept hearing that the locals prefer the bayside. We looked at everything. When we walked onto the grounds and viewed the setting of Tierra Encantada we knew we had found our second home. It was magical for us!
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
Tierra Encantad is a very peaceful residential condo complex. When the beach becomes shadowed, you we glory in the sunset over the bay right from your own balcony. During migration season, especially on windy days, you will see species of birds that you didn't know existed. You can fish from the dock, or bring your boat along. There is a sail loft for windsurfers to use. There is a beach access directly accross the island from our location, just 4 blocks away. Windsurf Inc. is right next door for those who want to take lessons or rent gear. There is a great dance club on the island, Pelican West. Or you might like Palm Street Pier which has 'The Barefoot Cowboy' singing and player for your entertainment, a very local's place.
We love sitting with our morning coffee overlooking the water. In early mornings you will see birds on the shoreline fishing, as well as evenings.
Our condo remodel was started after Hurricane Dolly blew all the windows out in 2008, and is completing April 30th, 2009. We stripped it to the studs and have rebuilt it with high end finishes and all new furnishing. Because this is a home we use also, we have made it everything that we want in a vacation spot. Our names are Tom and Colleen. We are natives of Michigan, haved lived in Wisconson and Arizona, and have lived in Colorado for 18 years now. We are avid skiers, hikers, equestrians and windsurfers. We like to fish and walk the beach.
