My husband and I stayed at the Amador condo the first week of April 2013, Our experience was nothing but positive, from the moment I inquired on booking the condo, to arranging tours with Patty and Rudy, to being picked up from the airport, the checking in and being acquainted with the condo and area, as well as every detail during our stay being looked after and attended to. The Amador condo is in a wonderful location for those who like to be close to the hustle and bustle of a big city but prefer to have a quieter setting. The Amador condo is located beside the entrance to the Pacific Ocean side of the canal where you can view ships entering and exiting the canal from the roof terrace of the condo. The views from the roof terrace are wonderful and we enjoyed many afternoons relaxing there with a few cold beverages. 2 restaurants are within a 5 minute walk away from the condo as well as a small convenience store. A large grocery store and more restaurants are a $3 cab ride away.. cabs are easily attainable. We enjoyed 3 tours which we booked with Rudy,, the Embera Indian Tribe, The Panama Canal partial transit and The Real Panama.. Both Patty and Rudy are very knowledgeable and can answer any question that you have about Panama, they also speak perfect English, as well as other languages. Patty has covered every detail in the condo and you will find every luxury that you could possibly need during your stay. The condo was very clean and it is also very secure. There is 24 hour security at the building. I highly recommend booking one of Patty's properties if you are looking to stay in Panama. You truly will not be disappointed.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The Amador condo has everything anyone would ever need and more. Location is excellent as it is close to causeway, easy access to taxis, and overlooks the downtown area. What a view! 24 hour Securiity was excellent and the security staff were very friendly and always available for help and to let you in and out. Rudy and Patty were very friendly and helpful in every way. We did two tours with Rudy and enjoyed both immensly. Rudy is very informative, friendly and demonstrates a great deal of knowledge regaraing the city and country, both past and present. We went on the Embera tour and the City and Canal tour. The condo itself has it all. No need to bring anything with you in terms of utensils, etc. Patty even had a lunch ready for us when we arrived as we arived late in the evening. A driver greeted us at the airport and Rudy awaited us at the condo and provided us with the necessary information to get us started for our stay in Panama City. The Yacht Club nearby has a good restaurant and very good prices. We also caught the ferry to Contador Island at the Yacht Club. A very worthwhile trip but would recommend staying overnight rather than doing it all in one day. They aranged for a ride to the aiport upon departure for home. An excellent experience! We would certainly recommend this condo for two people, young or old who appreciate the finer things in life!!!!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Our recent trip to Panama was a “once in a lifetime” excursion, thanks to Patty’s Casitas and Rudy’s Tours . Patty and Rudy cover all the bases with their perfect choices of living accommodations and places to go and see. They were available to help with daily itinerary choices and any problems we had. The villa and condo were well placed geographically and allowed easy access to see lots of what Panama had to offer. The Amador condo had every appliance we could think of, and was within an easy walk of some very nice restaurants, and the Canal. A short cab ride took us to grocery stores, shopping, more restaurants and scenery. The phone they supplied us with added a sense of security and a connection to Patty and Rudy for help if needed. The Mountain Villa near Capira was spacious and well appointed, with an infinity pool and covered patio. Rudy’s tours took us in every direction, on the isthmus railroad to Colon , past Coronado to El Valle, on a dugout canoe ride to the Embera Village , thru Old ruins of the old City and Spanish Forts. What a grand and beautiful trip thru a thriving and industrious country. The people are all very friendly and we felt very safe anywhere we went at any time of day or night. We are recommending Patty’s Casitas and Rudy’s Tours for this Panama Adventure to all our friends and relatives. And we are already planning our next trip to Panama . Nancy and jack. . . From the first initial contact with owner, Patty, I knew that staying in this Amador condo would end as a very good choice. Within moments of my original inquiry, a warm and secure dialogue began with Patty to facilitate our weeklong visit. Both she and her husband Rudy are the most kind and welcoming hosts you can imagine. They are honest, efficient and detail oriented beyond compare. In a very safe and upscale area, the condo is immaculately clean, with stunning views and every amenity you can imagine. Beautiful furnishings and art make you feel like a pampered guest yet with the comfots of your own home. You will enjoy fine linens and towels, lovely dinnerware, flatware, glassware and a complete array cooking utensils. The gated indoor parking is a welcome bonus, as is the workout area on the top floor, just before the inviting terraces. We enjoyed many visits to the terraces to view the canal activity and beautiful city skyline. Being able to dine on virtually about every cuisine you can imagine without ever leaving your own neighborhood is another positive piece. You can avoid the hecticism of Panama traffic while enjoying casual or fine dining, simple shopping, walking, jogging, bicycling or even fishing. Rudy is a certified tour guide that can provide many opportunities to see numerous areas of Panama and works tirelessly, as does Patty to insure happy guest experiences. Amador is a very nice area of Panama. Patty and Rudy along with their beautiful condo make a visit to Amador a memory to treasure. I can't speak highly enough of every single moment of our time with Patty and Rudy, from inquiry to check out. If you're headed to this area, treat yourself by choosing this property. You will be so glad you did. Personally, we can't wait to return!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This was my second stay at Patty and Rudy's beautiful Amador apartment. They are gracious hosts who attend to every detail, the apartment is completely furnished, spotlessly clean, and well-located for easy travel around Panama City and outlying areas. The apartment has all the personal amenities needed to feel at home. Some of thses include the small kitchen appliances one is used to having at home, a washer and dryer, two TVs, DVD player, fixed and cellular telephones, computer, and internet. The Causeway along the canal is literally just out the front door. Patty and Rudy coordinate sighteeing trips and can provide airport pickup and dropoff. There is so much to see and do in Panama City, and their Amador apartment is the perfect starting place. Thanks.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We have used VRBO thruout Europe, Mexico, Carribean, Bora Bora etc. Read the other rave reviews as they are accurate. The condo is in a great location, is beautifully furnished, has every kitchen appliance you could think of -- at a ridiculously low price. The hosts, Rudy and Patty, made every aspect of the trip easy. They find you at the airport, orient you to the apartment and surrounding areas including restaurants, give you a cell phone, provide use of 2 bikes for the causeway etc. We used Rudy for the combined city/canal tour, and for a visit to indigenous Indian location. Both were great. Our ownly regret was that we didn't use him more. There are 2 roof top balcony areas -- one with view of entry to the canal, one with view of the city. We spent every cocktail hour on the balconies. Best VRBO we have rented, especially given the price and service. This is my second time staying at a Patty's Casitas property and I was as pleased this time as the last. The apartment is clean, stylish, full of all of the amenities necessary to make you feel comfortable yet allow you to feel as if you're on vacation, in a special place. The location is right at the beginning of the Amador Causeway, allowing you to have ready access to the Causeway's attractions. Taxis come by all the time so getting to other parts of the city are just an easy step outside your door. My boyfriend and I loved the view. You could see the glorious Panama City skyline, Casco Viejo, and the giant Panamanian flag atop Ancon Hill. We'd start our day with coffee and time admiring the view. On top of the apartment is a cozy terrace where you can see the Bridge of the Americas and the ships lining up to enter the Panama Canal. Just like last year, Patty and Rudy took good care of us. Transfers were arranged to and from the airport so we didn't have to worry about securing them. They met us at the apartment and showed us everything. Rudy even set up my iPad for me so I could access the wifi without any problems! If either of us had a question, they're just a call/phone call away. The apartment is very safe and secure with a full time security guard. We took a number of tours with Rudy's Tours. His knowledge and love of his country is evident and you can tell he really enjoys sharing Panama with visitors. We did a half day boat ride through the Canal, we took a train ride, went to Fort Lorenzo, to the Gatun Locks, did a zip line at this wonderful adventure company where we were served dinner with food farmed on site and a fruit juice that none of us could get enough of, and we also visited the Embera were my boyfriend got a temporary tattoo and I bought hand crafted earrings that I'm wearing right now. We loved all of our excursions and keep debating over which one we liked best. I'm already talking to Patty about a girlfriend's trip in their loft in Casco Viejo and honestly can't imagine staying anywhere besides one of the Patty's Casitas properties.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

After lots of reading and looking for suitable accommodations, my husband and I decided to stay at one of Patty & Rudy's condos located on the Amador Causeway for one week in June 2012. Patty and Rudy personally greeted us at the airport. Our flight arrived late in the evening but they were there eager to help and share information. Patty even had a packed breakfast ready for us in the fridge for the morning. Both are very gracious and thoughtful people. The condo is absolutely marvelous, clean, tastefully decorated, air conditioned, elevator access and internet connected. A mini grocery store is only a 10 minute walk away. We booked four different tours with Rudy and thoroughly enjoyed each trip. Rudy is a wealth of information and efficiently organized the time very well. We can tell he is well respected by the Embera tribe at our delightful village visit. We communicated mainly in English, but my husband was completely thrilled that he could practice his Spanish with everyone we met. Our trip to Panama was made very memorable.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

Patty and Rudys' condo at Amador Hieghts is in the perfect location to get you anywhere you want to go! A two minute walk takes you to the causeway and a beautiful view of the bridges of America. The causeway offers an abundance of restaurants, hustle and bustle on the water as you watch the ships coming and going through the canal and tours are offered and executed here as well...eliminating any worry of transportation to and from your days plans! Our stay at this condo was the most relaxing and comfortable time we could have imagined. Everything you would need is provided...beautiful new appliances, washer, dryer, coffee maker/grinder,blender,microwave,pots,pans,spices...etc. Very spacious and inviting with huge windows for a view, tiled floors, double sinks and glass enclosed shower, king size bed so comfortable you will find it hard to want to get up!!! Two air condition units provide a comfort of your choice as well as a huge flat screen tv in the bedroom and smaller one mounted in the living room.. The roof top terrace is an excellent place to be to relax and have a beautiful view of the surrounding area while you enjoy a cool drink. We didn't use the exercise equipment but it was available and in perfect shape inside the doors off the terrace. The condo is attended 24/7 by guards and a video system is state of the art offering the utmost security available. We never had any worrys about our safety in the least. Rudy manages the tours that are available in and around Panama. He is extremely knowledgeable and proud of his country and will not hesitate to offer you all you want to know and is able to offer answers to all that you inquire about. Patty was available as well and returned numerous e mails in regards to questions about tours or places we wanted to see...as far as which places would offer the best for our interest. Patty was right on the money in all the advice we were fortunate to get from her. Angelica, the maid for Patty and Rudy's condos, has magical powers when it comes to 'sparkling" up every surface in the place as well as leaving us with crisp, clean bed sheets and laundry every week. As you can tell...we can't say enough about our hosts and our accommodations. When we return we WILL stay here...again and agin ...if possible!! We stayed here for 6 weeks and have not one complaint! Not often one can state that.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We were met at the airport and taken directly to the Condo, with a running dialog along the way which piqued our interest. Upon arrival we were ever so pleasantly surprised at the amentities presented and the comfort provided by our hosts. Not only was there internet access, but also a cell phone provided for our use during the stay. The accomodations were most comfortable, and a washer & dryer provided en suite! The fact that the Condo is within walking distance of some very nice restaurants, and the causeway, and the availabilty of taxis any time of the day was a bonus. We pre booked tours according to our desires, and the expertise of Rudy's knowledge of the areas history enabled us to learn quite a bit while enjoying the sites he was showing us. The fact that there were just 2 couples plus the guide on most tours (and just us 2 on others) made it a more hands on experience. It is hard to figure which adventure was the best (although the Zip Line had to be in the top 2) - so will have to rank them all in the top 10! We would highly recommend our adventures to our friends and family, and we too hope to return in the future and explore some more.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: Here are your hosts: Patty and Rudy...a very international couple! Patricia is half German and half Belgian, born in Peru but raised in Africa, did her International Baccalaureate in Lesotho and has a degree in Applied Languages obtained in Aix-en-Provence and with a Master’s degree in hotel management from Lyon. Rudy is half Italian and half Panamanian, born in Panama but raised in Rome, went to Notre Dame International School and accomplished a degree in Art History at the John Cabot International University as well as a degree in MCE and a certification as a Panamanian tour guide given by the National Tourist Authority. Both very much enjoy meeting people from all over the world…hence the choice of making hosting and touring their business...you couldn’t be in better hands:-) Let us show you our Panama by given you tips on our favorite restaurants or the places not to be missed…our priority is to make your Panama adventure an unforgettable one;-) Besides this porperty we also own 2 properties in Casco Viejo and a brand new mountain villa 50 Minutes from the city...a paradise for those of you who are seaking relaxation and recharging batteries!
Why the Owner Chose Panama City:
We chose to purchase this property due to its great location and amazing views. Another reason is that Rudy used to come here as a child when it used to be part of the Canal zone in the days when the Americans were operating the Canal. This particular area was where American generals once inhabited their majestic homes…some have been renovated & some were replaced with low rise condominiums – no more than 7 floors…making this area very exclusive with only a handful of them.
We are also lucky enough that Amador has been chosen by Frank Gehry to build the Museum of Biodiversity that should be opening its doors in 2013...be prepared this will be the hotspot for many years to come!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The views, the lush surroundings & riding the bikes provided with the rental on the Causeway!
