Our family and some our kids' friends stayed here Columbus Day weekend. We have been to Lake Placid many times over the years and this is the nicest place we've stayed. The house is newly renovated, the furniture and beds are comfortable. Everything was top notch and the owners were most pleasant and very accommodating. I will definitely stay here again and I heartily recommend it.

We rented this home for Ironman 2011. It's proximity to town and to all the race venues cannot be beat. Everything you could possibly want for this event. The house is clean, spacious, and well designed for a large group. The owners are communicative and attentive to any needs that arise. Everything you could want is within walking distance. The beach, the town, restaurants, the Olympic center all a few blocks away.

This is a very clean, well-kept (and updated), well-stocked nice house located very close to most restaurants and attractions in downtown Lake Placid. Very easy walking distance. The layout of the house was perfect for us--two families, one with young children and one without. It offered nice separation of the two families as one bedroom is on the main floor (right near a bathroom) and there are a couple of bedrooms upstairs (also with a bathroom). We didn't use the kitchen much, but it appeared well stocked. Bathroom on the main floor is updated and very nice. Deck is also very nice for relaxing on a nice day. The house had no "odor" and had leather-type furniture. Really like the hiking/skiing motif. For two familes the cost ended up being slightly less per family than we would have paid for two hotel rooms. Will consider returning!
Owner response:Thank you for your comments. We strive to provide a rental home that meets the needs of families - comfortable, convenient, and affordable.

It's great to be able to come home away from home and feel relaxed and at ease after a day on the hill. Weather was making it hard for us to stay dry during the ski races and we were very appreciative of the spacious pad and the awesome kitchen that enabled us to fill are growling stomaches back up. The stove, oven and grill were all put to good use and there was never a utinsel lacking. Everybody got up in the morning well rested and our training clothes were kept clean thanks to the washer/dryer downstairs. All in all a great stay and we will definetely know were to look if the the competition schedule brings us back here. Best finish turned out to be a 7th place in the Giant Slalom which was very satisfactory considering the fog and rain on the final day of events. Thank you very much for sharing your home with us! Happy Trails! Kristen

The home was only a five to ten minute walk to the Olympic Arena. It is very convenient to the Main Street and shopping. There were six of us: four adults and two children. The house has lots of room. It allowed us enough space so some of us could go to the basement and watch TV while others were on the main floor. It was very clean and well maintained. There was lots of dishes and cooking supplies. The house was only a fifteen minute drive to Whiteface and ten minutes to Cascade Cross Country Centre. I would highly recommend it.

The lake Placid House is a great place to stay. Very clean and comfortable and close to town. My family describes it as homey. The living room is big enough to relax and hang out together, the bedrooms and baths are clean and comfortable.

Our experience in Lake Placid was marvelous and we thoroughly enjoyed the house! It was so warm and cozy and had EVERYTHING that we needed. We played some of the games, watched the DVDs, used everything in the kitchen, which was such a great money saver, and slept soundly in the very comfortable beds. Thank you so much for your hospitality! We definitely plan to return!

We stayed in the house for the Lake Placid Marathon. It was a perfect location to walk to town. Not far from Whiteface Mt. and Mirror Lake. Beautiful, well kept house, with a great mountain feel to it. Spacious living room. Towels, bed linens and cookware included is a great bonus. Less to pack. Look forward to returning!!

The house was extremely well stocked with thoughtful and useful items, well decorated and very convenient. We enjoyed some fabulous April skiing at Whiteface and would definitely return to this gem.

What a hidden gem! We had the most wonderful weekend in Lake Placid. The Lake Placid House was clean, cozy, and just about perfect for our group. It was within walking distance to the downtown strip, where we spent a fair amount of our time as there's so much to do! We did 3 days of skiing at Whiteface and had phenomenal conditions. That mountain is certainly a well-kept secret! We would go back to the village of Lake Placid, Whiteface and stay at the Lake Placid House in a heartbeat. It was difficult to leave! I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to travel and stay very comfortably in Lake Placid.

Hi all-just a quick note to say thanks. Everything was wonderful, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect location or accommodation. We managed a sunny half day of skiing, many of us rode bobsleds despite the steep charge (to the complete delight of the 6 year olds), the kids got hooked on Goosebumps books, etc. The conference wasn't the high point, but that was expected!

This is a lovely, cosy and well kept house with all the amenities and atmosphere of an alpine home. My girlfriends and I were thrilled to find such comfortable, affordable and conveniently located accommdations to stay at during a shopping weekend in Lake Placid. I look forward to bringing my family to stay here on my next visit.

We had a great time skiing and really enjoyed the house. It is very comfortable and cozy. It is close to town which is great to go out for dinner and shopping without worring about parking or extra driving. Next time I am in town I will definetly stay at the house again.
