We stayed in Coho House for 3 days. It really made us home away from home. It is clean and very convenient. The view is beautiful and the location is perfect! Ruby and Tim are great hosts who recommended very nice restaurants to us and showed us a very beautiful trail where you enjoy the stunning beauty of the beach and view of mountains. Excellent experience! Definitely recommend to all my friends who plan to visit Homer.
Owner response:Thanks for the kind words and please come back. Ruby

Very cute and clean two bedroom apartment, with peaceful atmosphere. It's a stand alone, so it's private. A well equipped kitchen, large screen cable television and roomy living area, had our family feeling at home right away. The living area windows face west, for a view of the water. We are glad to have found this Homer rental- with easy access to downtown activities and shopping (this was a huge plus for a winter getaway). The only things to consider is if you had a problem with stairs or you are looking for over the top luxury like a jacuzzi. Great price and great hosts. As an Anchorage person who visits Homer often, Coho House is top on my list for the perfect place to stay.

We absolutely loved staying at the Coho House when visiting Homer this summer. We have stayed many other places in the past and if the Coho House is available we will never stay anywhere else in Homer again. We loved the spectacular view from our deck, the arrangement of the unit and our hosts were warm, welcoming and enthusiastic about our stay. Thank you so much! You will definately be hearing from us again. We also hope that you can visit us in Anchorage sometime!

The Coho House apartment was a lovely home base--- a thoughtfully furnished kitchen included some clay pottery bowls and pieces from the artist who oversees this place. Everything was perfectly clean and well-appointed and the view of the mountains from the window was a daily delight. Most importantly, the owner, Ruby and her husband Tim, are wonderfully engaging on local history, places to hike, and suggestions for dinner. We loved staying here and would definitely return.
Owner response:We love helping our guest have a wonderful experience while they are visiting Homer! Ruby

The Perfect Place for A Homer Getaway

Coho House is the perfect place for anyone wishing to discover the whimsical nuances of Homer. Nestled in the heart of the town, it is just a few minutes' walk from a host of delectable restaurants and lovely art galleries. You can take your morning coffee and brunch breakfast across the street, stop into the tea shop or music store (which are cattycornered), walk through the woods on a dandelion-dappled trail to the Pratt Museum (a must-see), or drop by the town's quaint movie theater (directly across) on a rainy day. Despite this accessible location, Coho House is still exceptionally private. It is set back from the main road (perfect for kids playing out front), and a forest rolls out behind the house--keep your eyes peeled for the family of moose that roam there. The house itself is well cared for, with high ceilings and curtain-clad windows in the living area/kitchen and both bedrooms. The windows in front reveal expansive views of the bay and snow-capped mountains beyond. Built by the owners, who are both accomplished craftspeople, Coho House exudes the "personal touch”—for example, the wood floor of the living is an inlaid with planks of contrasting shades, culminating in a subtle geometric design. The owners, whose studios and workshops are on the premises, are fonts of information and incredibly helpful. For example: during my stay, a family—with three children between the ages of 3 and 6, who often played in the garden below—rented the home next door. The proprietress—of her own accord—constructed two large hand-painted signs out of cereal boxes to place in the driveway reading: “STOP. KIDS AT PLAY.” They are very kind people who will leave you to your own devices if you wish but also nonchalantly help when they can. Staying at Coho House was a truly wonderful experience. Don’t pass the opportunity up.
Owner response:It was a pleasure to have our guest enjoy both the town and bay views from the Coho, while tucked privately in the woods. It is a great combination of both worlds.

I highly recommend this apt in Homer. Listing was accurate re location, photos accurate, property very well-maintained, owner very helpful. Within walking distance of much of downtown Homer -- library, grocery store, restaurants, beaches. Book a flight on Bald Mountain Air (I did -- it was fastastic), take a bird-viewing cruise in Kachemak Bay, take the ferry across the bay or just relax and enjoy the views, clean air and friendly folk.
