Cozy and comfortable
Cozy and comfortable
My girlfriend and I stayed for three days. The condo features a great view of the ocean from the back deck and easy beach access. Many nice restaurants are close by although we did cook a couple of meals in the condo. The location was perfect. Charleston and downtown shopping was just a few minutes away. Much better than staying in a hotel. Would love a return trip when the weather is a little warmer.

My retired parents & I enjoyed our 4 day stay at this condo. It was our first time to visit Isle of Palms/Mount Pleasant and we loved it. The balcony view was so lovely and relaxing. The neighbors were all very quiet as well. We did not hear any street noises or anything. Everything is exactly as pictured. The pool, beach and pier all have private access and are very easy to get to and close to the condo. My mom has a serious knee issue and she did not have any trouble getting around. The owner, Susan, was quick to respond to all our emails and questions. The cleaning lady was very sweet to try and get us in as soon as possible. We ate at some incredibly delicious restaurants like Acme Low Country Cantina, The Boathouse, Carraba's and breakfast at the Sea Biscuit Cafe. There are several more places to eat and all within walking distance. They also have a shopping center within 5 or 10 miles with a Starbucks, Target, Piggly Wiggly, Barnes & Noble and more. We will definitely plan another visit. Hopefully, soon.

This is a great spot! I checked with local hotels with the thought of finding something better but they were expensive considering location. The Charleston area has few beach front hotels so you'd have to drive to the beach. This isn't a modern luxury hotel- it's a cozy family beach villa, It is small but you can't beat the convenience of having a kitchen and den separate from the bedroom. The children's bunks are small and best suited for little ones. They were just fine for my 5th grade daughter and her friend. But when I'm going to the coast I like to be on the beach! This place has beautiful panoramic views of the ocean, pool and Palmettos! You're in walking distance to groceries and restaurants. I hope to return here again and again!

LOVED IT ! We stayed in this condo early June this summer and had a great experience. Clean, well decorated, amazing view, and set up perfectly for a small family. We had easy access to ocean, pool, pier and all the Charleston area sights. We really loved walking to shops and out for dinner, and to Ben & Jerry's. Thanks Susan, we will be back.

IOP Our 1st time
IOP Our 1st time
We just got back from our vacation and I thought I'd share a few things( a response to a negitive review). I brought flat sheets to cover the couch and the chair, mainly to help keep things clean because we have 2 young boys, but in no way were they as dirty as made to sound. Our bedsheets were ripped in a few spots, but the bed was clean. Over all the place was very clean and that is hard to do with all the sand and the walls were not that beat up. The kitchen could stand to have a cookie sheet and a few more cooking untensils..found ourselves having to wash the one spatula to keep on cooking. The lawn chairs are new and the fans were cleaned,as Susan said. So you know she is good on her word. The location was wonderful!! The pool (no fault of Susan's!) was gross!! It was green and very cloudy and as a former pool maint. gal, well I knew what it meant, not to mention my hubby over heard the maint, workers talking about how bad it was and how much they had to dump in the way of chemicals in it. So just be aware of that if you see the pool in the same conditon. I'm not sure if we would rent this again just for the fact that we felt very closed in with our 5 and 7 yr old, we are used to renting much bigger places, but over all we had a great time and didn't "dread" going back in. We did find ourselves enjoying the good size balcony in the evenings. Over all our stay was really good. I was concerned about my 5 yr old hurting his finger on the broken off piece of the toliet tank. I don't think you can beat the price for the week either!!

Owner response: Thank you for your valuable input! I went out today and purchased a cookie cheet, spatula, plus more cooking utensils, and have a call in to Management about the pool. I do know we were trying out a salt water pool system this year. Better on the enviornment and our skin, but it is harder to keep clean. Also ordered a new toilet tank top and new matresses.

We go every summer!
we have stayed in this condo for the past three July's and find it to be exactly what we need for a quick vacay to the beach with our daughter. It is a one bedroom with some bunks that are perfect for our 12 year old daughter and her friend. It is in a super location, has a great view, a nice patio, basic kitchen needs, and is clean. The AC works great and the pool and beach are very close. The owner is close by and very responsive to any needs. Summer of 2011 we were lucky enough to be there for the fourth of July and it had the best view of the fireworks!

great location but....
great location but....
We loved Isle of Palms. Working with the owner to secure the rental was easy. The location was great- beautiful beach and easy access to Charleston and surrounding areas. The condo was just the right size for a couple and maybe one additional person. The unit was decorated nicely but issue of concern was cleanliness. I did not mind that some things seemed used a bit and the walls a bit beat up, but the place needed better cleaning. Now am not an overly picky person , but I do want and need a CLEAN bed. No bugs here , but stains, hair, mildew and torn mattress pad on the bedding was not appreciated after a long day of traveling. The place also need more through dusting. Dust was caked on some things. We loved the balcony but the cushions on the chairs very dirty and one very torn. Be ready to bring your own soap for hands and toliet paper & tissue. There was some available, but not much due to the fact when extra is left, others are not considerate and take it when they leave. Come on people! Some of you ruin it for the rest! Remember someone is letting you use their place and the price was fair. The owner has said she has taken care of the cleaning issues with the cleaning business and talked to the managment about the palm tree that hits the side of the bedroom wall all night when it is windy. Also be aware if you are light sleepers , there is a stairway the others who use the complex use all the time - day and night- right by the bedroom wall. There is also a street behind the unit that is traveled a good amount- day and night. Whomever is renting next ,the new mattress pad was purchased by me and yes reimbursed. I do thank the owner for paying attention to the issues and she handled them fairly for the most part. The furniture could also use a good cleaning. It would probably also be nice if all visitors were respectful of the property and the owners checked the condo more often for wear and tear and cleanliness.

Owner response: Jun '13 update- brand new top of line sleeper sofa is in now, and new matresses of medium firmness. I apologize for the negatives you experienced and plan to further address this all. I had only positive email feedback from guests thru May and June, and It is obviously time for me to get in there myself, as I plan to this Sat, and will increase my personal visits to 2 per month. My cleaning supervisor of 7 years had to move to Oklahoma last Sept and this Season is now really showing that loss. I will be working with my cleaning team on many issues. I specifically referenced cleaning the fake ficus tree (I believe now I will just throw that plant out as a dust catcher.) and ceiling fans on June 10, and sent new balcony furniture. The sofa and carpets are 7 years old and get steam cleaning before Memorial and after Labor Day (and Dec), but are heavily used in between without time for proper drying if cleaned. PB&J and gatorade stains are the most constant problem, but people have fun on their vacation. Obviously the new mattress pad put on right before Memorial weekend had been ruined. We do wash those every 3rd use at least, but the material especially attracts sticking hairs even during wash. We use all white linens and purchase at least 5 new sets a year, so that we can bleach and wash in hot, but suntan oils, lotion, and these days tan accelorator, make stains that do not come out. Also, I put this "(We provide a lmited amount of start-up paper goods, soaps, etc.)" prominently on our description years ago when we found it impossible to provide reasonably or please all guests in that area. Sincerely, Susan Verbsky

We very much enjoyed our time in this beachfront condo. Condo was extremely clean and well stocked with all items we needed. Pool was clean and just outside the condo, beach only a few more steps :-) We visited late August and there were NO CROWDS! Awesome little trip.

Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: My name is Susan Player Verbsky; a wife and mother by God's Grace, a Psychotherapist by training, with a small practice here for 17 years, and a Real Estate investment and management specialist by design for the same time period. I enjoy the great intangible rewards of Therapy, and, equally, the tangible rewards of developing a property and working with people planning vacation time.
Why the Owner Chose Isle of Palms:
After many years managing my parent's large wonderful beachfront home that rents for $8000 a week, we invested in a Old Village rental that would be easily accessible to the beach and historic downtown, and a more affordable vacation here for smaller families/groups. Positive experiences with that rental as well motivated us to invest in a Sea Cabin. We had loved these places for years as a perfect 1 family beach/Charleston get-a-way.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
2nd floor Views are as great as 3rd floor w/out the climb. Better rates and 2 1/2 x the size of the beachfront hotels, and much bigger balcony. Renovated kitchen and bath w/ fully replaced sheetrock walls and ceilings throughout for best allergy relief. End unit shares no BR wall with neighbor, has more open panoramic balcony, plus ours has an office below empty at night. ****We have just purchased a 1BR (king bed)/1BA 1 mile from the beach and 6 miles to Historic Downtown, which will be available July 11th with wide open calendar for this Summer/Fall... Please ask about the great rates (1/2 the rate of this great deal on beachfront) and availability. We will have another VRBO site up for it soon : )
