THE TREE HOUSE Overlooking Provincetown harbor and near the center of town at 359 Commercial Street, THE TREE HOUSE offers amazing unobstructed views of the town pier, harbor and Cape Cod Bay from five picture windows, and from its private deck. It's called “The Tree House” not just because of its bird’s-eye views, but because of its walnut floors, its pine walls and ceilings, its Mission oak panels. You'll find country antiques, French doors, stained glass, a rocking chair, skylights and plants. There’s a queen-sized sleigh bed in the bedroom. The Tree House is only suitable for one or two people - the living room sofa is not a convertible. There's also a wonderful tiled tub in the bathroom, and a compact but well-equipped kitchen. It’s equipped with linens and towels, a washer/dryer, microwave oven, coffeemaker, toaster, blender, stereo system, cable television, video tape and DVD player, clock radio, fan, iron, telephone & answering machine, air conditioning in the bedroom, and Wi-Fi. You'll even find a few books, games, DVD’s and CD's. The private deck is about 10x16’ and offers the best view in town! There is a reserved parking space at The Monument parking lot, about a quarter of a mile away. Sorry, but condo rules don’t allow pets. The Tree House is available Year-round. The London Times has called The Tree House an “idyllic spot for solitary creativity”!

Why the Owner Chose Provincetown
Provincetown has long been a little Paradise. It's located way out at the very end of Cape Cod. The water and the light are spectacular - and the people are wonderful. "Diversity" is the word that comes to mind. Our little town began as a quaint fishing village, and has for the past hundred years been a haven for artists, writers, and musicians. It's also a popular vacation spot for gay and lesbian travelers. There are wonderful restaurants, nightclubs, and art galleries, and amazing views in every direction - not to mention sand dunes, beaches, whale watching boats, drag shows, street performers and friendly people.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
The Tree House is a great spot because it's in the center of town, but it still has a very private feeling. It's deck is amazing. You can see the lighthouse at the end of the Cape right across the bay, and you can watch fishing boats, sailboats and yachts coming into the harbor. I'll let the photos of The Tree House speak for themselves. It's a very special place!
Owner's Map of Provincetown
I escaped from NYC to Provincetown in 1993 and have loved living here. I'm a singer and a choral conductor, leading the 140-voice Outer Cape Chorale here in town. My husband (yes, we live in Massachusetts and are legally married!) like to sing together - you can see us on YouTube. We've rented out two condos in town for over a decade. James also runs a guest house called Snug Cottage. We have two dogs and an overweight cat. We love to travel - especially to Hawaii and Italy!

Excellent! close to everything and still great view. Cozy and romantic and rustic. Only drawback- on days when it is above 80 the place warms up and the one a/c unit in the bedroom shut off frequently when the water drainage was full. But a/c is not common in homes there, and sleeping on the deck a couple nights was neat too, with the stars...

The chairs at the table now have cushions and the cushions on the sofa have been upgraded to high-density foam. I thank the author of the above review and have done what I can to address the "issues" - after all, I want to make The Tree House the BEST place in Provincetown to stay!

Had a nice week at the Treehouse in August 2009. Great harbor views from the deck and excellent location, near galleries, shopping and nightlife. The apartment is very rustic cute; having washer/dryer in unit was wonderful. The bedroom is right above busy commercial street so noise was noticeable, but turning on fan or ac made it easy enough to sleep and things seemed to quiet by midnight especially on week nights. Complaints: 1) Decent-sized deck with beautiful view would have been so much more useful with a chaise lounge or two and an umbrella so you could sit out of the sun. (If we'd had a car, we would have gone to Walmart and bought some folding ones ourselves.) Picnic table and two uncushioned adirondack chairs and direct sun through mid-afternoon made it only comfortable to sit for a short while especially on nice days. 2) In fact, there wasn't a comfortable cushioned place to sit in the entire unit. Love seat in living room appeared to be deck furniture, hard wood covered by thin foam. Every other seat in the place was bare wood. We ended up reading on the bed more than we would have liked, and that put us far away from the great view we were paying for. Overall, a good stay. But with a few improvements, this could a great spot. The deck and view are the highlights of the Treehouse and yet they aren't fully taken advantage of.
