Now on our third year spending a week at the Boat House, we are more in love than ever with this absolutely unique home on the Bay. There is of course the sweeping view of Provincetown Harbor and across the water Truro and Wellfleet, but there is also the way in which the interior is furnished not only with a baby grand piano but with old prints; quirky, fun antiques and charming sculpture; china ; a collection of old fashioned egg beaters and even the owner's collection of cow memorabilia. It feels like this is not one of these no-frills- vacation-standard-design but a real home with a vivid life and a history generously and hospitably opened to guests. The quaint galley kitchen with gas stove is perfect for someone like myself who loves to cook on vacation. Between discovering the wonders of the Saturday Summer Farmer's Market by City Hall, and the out of the way warehouse where sea food can be bought for a fraction of the market value, it was a delight to produce meals at the Boat House and then sit out on the deck overlooking the bay for a long leisurely evening!Did you find this review helpful? We have stayed at the Boat House since 2009. I've been coming to Ptown since 1968, and once I found this place, my only regret is it's not available year 'round! The summer of 2011 we were fortunate enough to spend a total of 3 weeks here. The location is convenient; it's less than a mile walk to the center of town with restaurants and shops on the way - easy walk to Angel Foods, Ciro & Sals, and The Wired Puppy. My elderly mom was able to spend some time one summer and couldn't get over the view. My children, in their early 20's, rave about our find as well. The owners are very kind and helpful, and since they're local they know what's going on for recommendations, including the Music on Sundays at the Unitarian Meetinghouse. It can be difficult to find a place that Grandmom, Mom, daughter, and son all agree on, and the Boat House is that place!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4
