Experience San Antonio as a local! We have one of the more unique vacation rentals you’ll find, and in a great location. Our vacation rental occupies the entire first floor of our large 1925 duplex. Your friends and family can spread out in over 1900 interior square feet plus an expansive 10 x 42 covered veranda with outdoor dining. This comfortable space invokes a feeling of being in a quaint cottage. Sit back, relax and kick your feet up on the coffee table.

The entire space overlooks the lush yard with pool and spa. Feel free to treat yourself and family to backyard Texas BBQ and beat the heat in the pool. The pool is seasonal; however the hot tub is available year around.

Our unique duplex is large in scale and was designed by George Rodney Willis, a lead draftsman for Frank Lloyd Wright at the turn of 20th Century. Later in his career Mr. Willis designed many fine homes and significant buildings here in San Antonio. Comprising of two suites, we live in Suite 2, which is the upstairs residence.

We are located just off of Broadway in the Museum district of Midtown. We're in wonderful small neighborhood rich in history and interesting architecture of the early 20th century. Surrounded by the historic Fort Sam Houston you can enjoy views of the Victorian era officer’s homes and a walk around the block you’ll see horses grazing in pasture. It really is an amazing view, to be only 1 mile from downtown.

3 blocks away you’ll find Brackenridge Park and Golf Course. Walking paths lead you to North through Brackenridge Park, The San Antonio Zoo and more. A few blocks South and you’ll find The Pearl, a culinary hub and select shops. Saturday mornings at the Pearl offers a fun and trendy Farmer’s Market as well. You’ll find the North end of the Riverwalk Museum Reach extension at the rear of this complex. Bicycles can be rented from several private businesses or our city’s new B-Cycle program.

We were in San Antonio for my son's graduation from AIT at Fort Sam Houston. The location was perfect; not only close to the base, but close to everything else (Downtown, Riverwalk, museums etc). The accomodations were perfect! Comfy beds, lots of fluffy towels and a well appointed kitchen. The backyard pool/hot tub was very refreshing and the backyard space was very peaceful. We went to the McNay art museum, the Witte museum, the Riverwalk, the Alamo, shopping at the Lone Star Mall and we ate at La Gloria, Josephine St cafe, The Quarry Golf course (great burgers), We took a day trip to Fredricksburg , cute little German town with lots of shops and German restaurants. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting San Antonio!

We were very pleased with our stay and we definitely will go back. Brent and Daryl (the owners) were very pleasant and accomadating. The really make you feel at home. The location is very convienent to downtown, many resteraunts, museums and other attractions. You can also just relax on the porch or in the gorgeous backyard by the pool. We have rented many places and this is definitely one of our very favorites.

Hey there you person looking for a place to stay in San A NTONIO This was the first time I decided to stay at a house instead of a motel and it was great! It certainly is the way to go. I live in Minnesota and myself and my sister and 3 of her grandchildren stayed at this house for 10 nights. It was very comfotable with modern conviences like air conditionng, washer and dryer, fully supplied kitchen. The rooms are large and with high ceilings with plenty of room for all of us. The beds very comfortable and 2 bathrooms makes it really nice too. The swiimming pool was great especially to cool off from the heat. The location is perfect being so close to down town and the zoo and lots of restuarants. Brent is very friendly and fun. He kept us supplied with clean towels. So if you are thinking of a place to stay while in San Antonio I highly recommend this place. Sincerely, Mary from MN.

Owner response: Thank you very much Mary! I'm happy you were able to get your family together and spend some quality time. Keep us in mind when it's freezing temps up North! We're a great spot to getting the family together and relaxing. Whether you're staying in or going to the great places nearby!

The listing description was very accurate in all aspects. This property is actually better in person than the listing. Brent was very easy to work with and extremely nice about everything. This house is loaded with unique antiques and you can tell that a lot of thought was put into the pieces that are here. The street that the house is on is very wide with little traffic so it was very quiet. The back deck and pool are really nice. This house is exactly what we were looking for. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Owner response: Thank you very much Brook! It's always nice to hear how much folks enjoy staying here!

We recently stayed for 4 nights. The neighborhood is very cool with great craftsman and art deco homes. Nice and quiet. Loved the decor and art throughout the home. Plenty of room with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The owners live right upstairs and were very helpful with recommendations and directions. This place beats staying in a cramped hotel room any day. We plan on returning in the future!

We visit San Antonio almost every year during the summer to visit friends and family. Usually, we stay at hotels, but this was the first time we stayed at a vacation rental, and we couldn't have been any happier with our choice. The apartment which is located in a very quiet area, is clean, very spacious, and tastefully furnished. Frankly, the place is even lovelier in reality. The beds are super comfortable, pillows, bedding as well as towels are ample, and the kitchen is well equipped. Also, having a washer and dryer in the bathroom was very convenient. We loved the welcome basket, and the flowers on the dining room table were a really nice touch. The central a/c worked like a charm beating the Texas heat, and additionally all rooms are equipped with fans. The garden with the pool is a little oasis which provided very needed rest and relaxation. We used the bbq pit a few times, and were able to have friends and family over for quiet a few dinners including a 4th of July BBQ. For those who love board games, not to worry, there are plenty of them in the living room, and our family made good use of the crocket set. The location is fantastic! The apartment is very close to downtown, Pearl Brewery which hosts a Farmers Market on Saturdays, HEB Central Market, as well as really nice restaurants. La Gloria (located next to Pearl Brewery) which serves Mexican street food and fantastic margaritas quickly became our favorite. It's located directly on the San Antonio River, and one can take a nice stroll along the Museum Reach of the river, or hop onto one of the river taxis. Another must see is the bat colony that has its home under the I35 underpass (corner of Camden and Newell), and comes out at sunset. The owners, Brent and Daryl were fantastic, and they clearly take very good care of their property. Our friends and family were also smitten with the place, and we will certainly be back.

My husband and I and our two children (ages 10 and 13) recently stayed at the Commanders Quarters on Braham. What a GREAT place! I don’t even know where to begin…let’s start with how incredibly CLEAN everything was….the kitchen was fully stocked with any type of gadget you could ever want or need. There were PLENTY of clean bath and pool towels…all nice, soft, and thick. The beds were SUPER comfortable and again…all blanket, pillows, and bed spreads were super clean and soft. There was always plenty of hot water for showers and the small washer/dryer combo was the perfect size for us for the week. The welcoming basket was so thoughtful and full of YUMMY things (authentic Texas salsa and chips, fresh fruit, coffee, cookies, etc). Brent even had the fridge stocked with cold waters and creamer for our morning coffee. The location of the house was simply perfect too…only a few minutes to the Pearl Brewery which is the beginning of the Riverwalk, and a 5 minute drive into downtown. The pool and yard were a wonderful place to come home to after touring the city (especially because it was in the 90’s all days that we were there)...both were always well-kept with relaxing chairs poolside with plenty of either shade or sun. The art work inside the home was wonderful as were all of the eclectic antiques and furnishings. Brent and Daryl certainly made us feel at home and welcomed and we loved meeting their (furry) children. They were terrific hosts and we would certainly recommend the property to those who are looking for a relaxing time away. You won’t be sorry! Thanks again Brent and Daryl! Sincerely, The Nygren’s

We loved your home very clean & plenty of space. The square footage for 4 of us was great!! We had a cookout in the backyard one night with my brother & family from Kansas City who just happened to be in SA the same time as us & they also thought it was a great place. The location to just about everything is a major plus. It was nice sitting out back in the evenings to just do nothing but listen to the waterfall from the pool. Our week consisted of the River Walk, Mercado, LBJ's ranch, Luchenbach, winery stops along highway 290, Fredericksburg, Sea World, the San Antonio Zoo....we were worn out & the bed was so comfortable, I crashed the minute my head hit the pillow. Thanks for being a great host and answering all our questions. The history of your home was great to listen to. Hope to get back to rent again.
