This home is ideal for small spiritual retreats and family reunions at the Texas Gulf Coast. This 1/3 acre is graced with 38 Oak trees and over 20 species of flowering plants. Bird and squirrel feeders and 3 ponds make this a perfect place to find yourself in nature and community with others, family or a spiritual group.
Across the ferry from Port Aransas in Aransas Pass... Minutes from the water, and walking distance to "downtown" Aransas Pass... Groceries (normal, not resort priced), moderately priced restaurants, quaint shops, live theatre, and churches. Minutes from Wal-Mart. The climate here is as close to Southern California as you will find, averaging 83 degrees in the summer and around 60 in the winter. So if you want to get out of the cold, this is the place. We don't guarantee the weather, but it is commonly great. This is fishing and birding paradise, and great for just relaxing.
Your group or family can venture 10-12 minutes over to the fabulous family beach in Rockport for safer shallow swimming, restrooms, shaded thatch covers, picnic tables, volleyball nets, playground equipment, and a covered pavilion to have complete shade if you'd like. This beach has exotic birds all around, charming casual to fine seafood restaurants on the water, the Texas Maritime Museum and great fishing. Or go across the high bridge to Corpus Christi to the Texas State Aquarium and the U.S.S. Lexington Museum, about 30 minutes away. Cross the ferry to the surf in Port Aransas, and if you like to gamble, the Texas Treasure Cruise ship docks 5 minutes away.
