  We thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd trip to St John to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary. SMS was incredible & we spent almost every afternoon on the patio enjoying the outdoor speakers & the beautiful view. One evening we were visited by the donkeys headed to the top of the mountain and that was pretty fun. Every time I see the word “DIP” I will think of : Stinky Donkey Dip, Dip Thong, Skinny Dip, Clam Dip, Big Dipper. Thank you Bonny, Carrie and Chris.

  Both St John & SMS exceeded all of our expectations. With the island, you can’t ask for more with the beaches (Maho, Hawksnest & Little Lameshur were our favorites), snorkeling (Waterlemon) and food (Sweet Plantains, Aqua Bistro)! The entire Coral Bay area was simply amazing. With SMS, the VIEW is breathtaking. Even the night time view was worth it watching lightning over the islands while listening to music on the deck. I honestly don’t know if I could ask for more out of a villa – the pool, grill, wifi, kitchen amenities – perfect! Thank you for sharing SMS with us.

  This was the perfect place for our St John vacation. We loved the awesome views and spent lots of relaxing time just relaxing on the deck and enjoying the pool. We liked the southern beaches of Great and Little Lameshur and Salt Pond. Our best snorkeling was on the East End – Hansen/Round Bay. The water was so calm lots to see and no jellyfish. We hiked Cinnamon Bay Trail and Lameshur Bay Trail – Francis beach was very nice. We appreciate all Bonny’s great suggestions and had wonderful meals at Sweet Plantains (excellent curry), Shipwreck Landing, Rhumblines and prime rib Wednesday at Aqua Bistro. Skinny Legs was a fun stop for lunch and T-shirts. We really enjoyed seeing all the animals on the island. My husband says the presence of Carib Indian spirits compels dancing on the deck with the outdoor music (after rum drinks of course). This was a much needed break in our busy lives. SMS was an amazing place to stay and we thank you for sharing your very comfy home with us.

  I stayed at SMS for a week over my birthday with my fiance. It was our first visit to St. John and the Caribbean. We loved the beaches and snorkeling - especially Waterlemon, Salt Pond Bay and Hawksnest. SMS was a wonderful retreat - relaxing with all of the creature comforts of home. We had breakfast every morning on the patio and a few dinners as well. There's a BBQ on the patio and a great outdoor sound system. The pool was usually cool but refreshing on hot days. The view was amazing!!! I read reviews and saw pictures of course before arriving but it still astounds you even more in person. It's definitely the highlight of the property and well worth the somewhat difficult drive up to the house (you get used to it fairly quickly). We'd love to visit again.

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

  This was our first visit to St John and SMS to celebrate our honeymoon. An amazing villa! It was immaculately clean when we arrived with local fresh flowers everywhere. Bonny was very friendly, informative and responsive throughout our stay. She provided us with several “local” tips that proved very useful. There are any wonderful things about the villa: the view (photographs really can’t do it justice), beautiful flowers and landscaping, very comfortable bed, solid wireless connection, Bose sound system, high quality gas grill and many maps and guidebooks. We hope to return!

  What a wonderful week we just had at SMS. A truly magical place where we celebrated our engagement and took some time to get away from it all! Highlights…besides the house of course!...include a hike at Ram’s Head and beach at Salt Pond, a super booze cruise “painkiller” heavy ride aboard the Bad Kitty to the Baths and Soggy Dollar and numerous meals out. We loved the Caribbean grilled lobsters at Lime Inn, fritters and fried grouper sandwich (amazing!) at Miss Lucy’s and local foods at Ekaete Pink Corner. We can’t wait for our next visit to St John. Thank you so much for a wonderful week and memories. Lastly, as we sit and sip a Corona on our last night, we watch the sun fade out and something comes to mind. As we moved slowly and joyously through the week, whenever we referred to coming back to SMS, we always said “let’s go home” or “we can call for a dinner reservation from home”. We always used the word “home”, not “the house” or “the place”. I find that somewhat telling as to how truly comfortable it is here. Best Wishes and Cheers!

  What a delight to finally arrive here and walk through your front door! After a year of multiple illnesses, surgeries and treatments Dom and I really needed some R&R! Although we booked our vacation last April, I wasn’t convinced we were even going to make it here at all. Luckily, timing was on our side and it all worked out. I woke up this morning to watch the sunrise as Dom still lay sleeping soundly. The magnitude of the awe-inspiring beauty that surrounds your home brought tears to my eyes bringing me a sense of peace for the first time in almost a year. I can’t thank you enough for having us in your home. It has been a long time coming and this experience has healed my soul, truly. Good fortune, health and happiness to you both! Warm Regards.

  We are repeat visitors to SMS and we plan to keep coming back! We appreciate the fact that this villa has : potable water; a strong and uninterrupted wireless connection throughout the property; a telephone with easy answering machine and a great mp3 ready sound system. This week, there was a local guy operating a back hoe to help improve the rough road that leads up to the villa. Bonny and her team are incredible and we thank them for their careful attention to detail. The garden here is well cultivated with a wide variety of exotic and flowering plants. This year’s highlight for us was the amazing snorkeling we did with the expert help of Captain John Stewart. We highly recommend him.

  What can I say that hasn’t been said before, the Sun Moon & Stars house is absolutely wonderful. My husband & I stayed at the SMS house November 10th thru the 17th 2012. This was my third visit to the island and my husband’s second time to the island, and each time we’ve enjoyed staying on the east side of the island in Coral Bay where it’s quiet & relaxing and we can pretend to be locals. Actually we hope to be locals someday. The SMS house is perfect for a couple’s get away. I was a little nervous when I found out it took 4-wheel drive to get up the mountain, but the drive was not scary after the first time up and down, and I have to say the million dollar views and breezes felt at that elevation were worth the trip. The caretaker who will meet you when you stay at the SMS house is absolutely the nicest person you could hope to meet. You’ll certainly be tired when you arrive from a day of traveling to the island, and she’s great at giving you an overview of the house, what’s in the area, and is a longtime resident with lots of great knowledge. While we for the most part were out of the house early morning and did not return until sunset each day, the house was a wonderful retreat to return to each evening. It was a treat to be able to turn on the outdoor speakers after a long day at the beach and listen to some good music and have a rum drink or two. At this elevation, the trade winds are amazing, and we did not need to turn on the bedroom air-conditioning once. We also didn’t experience any bug bite issues outside or inside, and spent many nights gazing at the stars and discussing how much we love it there and how could we quit our day jobs and make St. John our permanent home. The owners have thought about every need, the kitchen is well stocked with cookware etc. The furnishings are “pottery barn” cute and well maintained. The owners have provided a nice collection of good books and board games for nightly entertainment. We just truly enjoyed the house, and as my husband put it, “we need to make this our yearly house to stay at” and I of course agreed.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
