Great place – Great people. After getting married – reception - 8 AM flight from Regan – and finally arriving in the afternoon Bonnie was a huge breath of fresh air even fixing a hiccup on our rental car without missing a beat – she was invaluable. We really enjoyed her suggestions – beaches, restaurants, etc. We had a little wind and rain but the view was always lovely. We will be recommending SMS to friends for sure!

What a great place. My only complaint is that the week scooted by too fast! We really appreciated all the little extras that made going to the beach so easy! After an overnight and delayed flight it was great meeting Bonny here to settle us in. We arrived after dark so the morning sunrise and views were jaw dropping! Even though I saw all the pix online the real deal was amazing! Thanks Chris and Carrie and Bonny - everything was perfect!

WOW – St John and SMS was exactly what we both needed. The island and the house literally sets the tone and facilitates you to live in “island time”. Each and every day was a treat for the senses. Snorkeled at Lamesur and Haulover Bay and Hawksnest Beach is amazing for just being in the elements of the island. Thank you Bonny for taking excellent care of us!! Your recommendation on the tuna at Aqua Bistro was FAB! Donkey Diner for breakfast is a must and Shipwreck landing was great as well. We will be back next year and SMS will be our home for the week!

I came to "find myself" amazing how the exhale came the first night! The villa is amazing for the soul! Bonny is a great Manager. Thorough and caring! Great choice C&C...The views, breathtaking. I don't think there is a better one to be found on St. John. The decor is beautiful handmade sconces are gorgeous! Carrie has done an amazing job on the gardens, the birds and wildlife just love it! Sleeping on the deck and waking up to the views and the breeze-exhale again. In leaving my fast paced high stressed life back where it belongs, I have found a piece of myself that I haven't seen in quite sometime. Amazing how fast life passes you by & you you don't realize what you've missed. Thank You C & C. This was life changing and I will be back soon so that I don't forget to breathe. Love ya!

We very much enjoyed staying at Sun, Moon & Stars Villa. The property was wonderful and the pictures and description accurately describe what is available. Thanks to Bonny for filling us in on our arrival and Carrie for making the scheduling process seamless. We enjoyed eating at Shipwreck Landing and Aqua Bistro. We bought groceries in Cruz Bay but picked up additional supplies at Lily's. We grilled several nights at the Villa. The island was easy to navigate and the beaches were so wonderful. A vacation to remember!

We found SMS on VRBO. We have very much enjoyed our time on St John. The view from your place is awesome and much enjoyed. We would leave each day and go to a different beach. Beautiful beaches, awesome temperatures. It has been very windy while we were here, but today it is very calm here at SMS. We had a full moon and sunrises to take pictures of. SMS is a well maintained home that offers privacy with spectacular views. The steady breeze keeps the place cool day and night. Star gazing was a highlight. Sun, Moon & Stars was wonderful! We did not see the spectacular view until we woke up the next morning. We were still so sleepy after travelling, but couldn't fall back asleep because we knew what we would be missing. This was our second stay on Calabash Boom, our first at Sun, Moon and Stars and everything went better than we could have hoped. After visiting the Virgin Islands on various cruises, we decided to take a chance and stay on the island that intrigued us so, and what a treat this has been! That view just never grows old from this little piece of heaven called Sun, Moon and Stars. Thank you for sharing your lovely home that is so nicely furnished (with a special thanks for having an umbrella for those of us with sensitive skin). We snorkeled at Little Lamesur, Salt Pond, Francis and Brown Bay - all unique in what they had to offer. We ate at miss Lucy's for both lunch and dinner - everything was very fresh - and enjoyed our snack at the Tourist Trap - yes it is really worth the time. Shipwreck Landing was good, also. Mostly, we enjoyed time away from the hustle and bustle. And did we mention that the view just never grows old??? We would love to return!

We have been looking forward to visiting St. John for years and we finally made it happen in December 2011. After emailing with interest in SMS, Carrie got back to us very quickly and answered all of our questions. We had a great week and loved lounging around the house, relaxing on the deck and heading out to the local beaches. The road to the house is steep but fine in a 4x4. There are a good variety of restaurants in Coral Bay and you can pick up your snorkeling gear at Crabbys just down the street. This side of the island is quiet and no nightlife but this is what we were looking for on our vacation. We would recommend SMS to anyone that wants a quiet relaxing villa with an amazing view! The description and pictures provided by the owner are spot on... so you can rent with confidence.

Truly a Piece of Heaven

Well we certainly didn't expect for our first trip to St John to include rain every day, nasty locals (including Bonny!) and tons of mosquitoes....well that is nowhere close to what we experienced! Bonny is the hostess with the mostess and every moment and day here on this beautiful island has been so fantastic and memorable. We could have easily stayed right here on the deck of SMS every day, but we wanted to take advantage of everything that is offered. We started our trip off with our commitment ceremony on Hawksnest Beach with friends and family and then proceeded to do as much as we possibly could! Had a great time on our day trip to BVI! Went to the Baths, snorkeling and of course Soggy Dollar bar. Good times! Best spots to snorkel for us : Salt Pond, Waterlemon (tons of big starfish) and Leinster (3 sea turtles and a shark!) I mean really, you can't go wrong anywhere because it's all so gorgeous, but those were probably our best 3 that we checked out from St John. Restaurants here on Coral Bay were great as well! Miss Lucy's was surprisingly great because it seemed like a little hole in the wall type of place, but ended up being excellent! Should have known. Couldn't keep up with all the happy hour specials going on all over the island. I tried, but couldn't hang and even paid the price! Spent Thanksgiving in Cruz Bay hopping around to a number of places, but ended up at High Tide right beside the ferry dock. Owned by some fellow North Carolinians, holla! Great food, good chill atmosphere with great people. All in all a spectacular week! Thank you so much Bonny for your hospitality and super friendliness and thank you Carrie and Chris for allowing us the pleasure to stay in your beautiful villa! This is truly a piece of heaven! We will be back!

Took Our Breath Away

This was our first trip to St John. The view from the deck each morning took our breath away - much like the car ride up and down the hill! Ting complains of whiplash but giggles madly at the goats and donkeys we sail by. Even two days of stormy skies could not spoil the magic of St John or SMS. We visited at least one new beach every day, though found a strong favorite in the calm beauty of Francis Bay. The ten days between being so warmly greeted on the dock by Bonny to sadly packing our bags tonight flew faster than we'd though possible. Next time we'll make it a month! Until then!

We've had a truly wonderful week here - relaxing, letting go and enjoying the "simple life". Snorkeling at Waterlemon and Trunk Bay were terrific. Hiking the Reef Bay Trail was arduous, but worth it. For our 25th anniversary, we chose to stay at Sun, Moon & Stars. The greeting from Bonny was fabulous, from the quick stop in Cruz Bay to buy essentials to where to dine and hike and snorkel was great advice. St John is really a national treasure and we enjoyed time snorkeling on fine sandy beaches and sailing with Rick & Robin Gallup to Flanagan Island. Slowing down and taking in the island's pace was easy to do knowing that at the end of the day we could watch the sun retreat behind the island and enjoy a cocktail as the lights begin to twinkle on distant Tortola. The pool is nice, the deck is the charm and the garden that attracts hummingbirds - just gorgeous. I hope we can return VERY soon and would encourage any couple searching for a fabulously equipped abode for romance and special occasions to partake of the unique character, unparalleled views and charm that is Sun, Moon & Stars.

While on our honeymoon, we had such an amazing time at SMS. Coral Bay is definitely our favorite part of the island, so much charm at every bar and restaurant. Having spent years embarking in journeys where we navigated the waters of the BVI and beyond, St John felt familiar and somehow like coming home. We spent hours overlooking these familiar vistas yet found it in our way to pry ourselves away from SMS to explore the sites and sounds of this very special island. Much to our delight, the snorkeling here is top notch. Waterlemon Cay and Salt Pond were our favorites, but even Trunk Bay deserved a second trip. Although we ate out several times, we most frequently reverted back to the unsurpassed setting of SMS. Transitioning from evening meal time to star gazing proved to be an especially rewarding way to end a fun filled day. Thanks to Bonny for her warm welcome and expert orientation. Such a lovely start to this restful week.

Feel like we are at the top of the world. The view is so amazing! We loved our Kestrels, Pearl Eyed Thrashes, hummingbirds and the refreshing breezes. Snorkeling most days and liked to see the Petroglyphs. We were awakened each morning by the calls of "Pearl" our Thrasher bird - also she announces her return each evening. After flight cancellations and a 12 hour drive to Miami so we could make it to our wedding, we were greeted by Bonny at the docks and everything seemed to go right after that. SMS was the perfect spot for our honeymoon. We mainly enjoyed spending time at the villa and eating in Coral Bay. Donkey Diner & Skinny Legs were wonderful and Island Blues if you are in the mood to talk to all of the locals. Thanks for everything. After a crazy day of travelling and delays and cancellations, it was such a pleasure to be greeted by Bonny. She made us feel right at home and we knew all the hassles of travelling during a huge snowstorm would all be worth it. She ordered us hamburgers since we hadn’t eaten all day and showed us the AMAZING villa that would be our home for the next week. Set up with all the amenities and special touch extras, this trip to St John and SMS was the best possible choice as our honeymoon location. We cannot tell you how incredible our stay has been at Sun, Moon & Stars. We did virtually nothing, but lay by the beautiful pool sunning ourselves and ventured down to the beaches a couple of times. This villa is so complete you never need to leave! We cooked here every single meal except one. What we really loved were all the little extras that we have never enjoyed in a villa before such as a huge basket of sun block and mosquito repellent, beach bags, extras in the kitchen like spices and sugar, a couple of cold beers waiting in the fridge, really complete cooking pots and utensils, indoor/outdoor sound system, library of books and videos, fresh flowers everywhere and a romantic table set for two when we arrived. Bonny is far and away the best manager/greeter we have ever had. Overall, we had an incredible time.

Kissed by the sun, licked by the wind, we never wanted our week to end. Beautiful sunrise, early dip in the pool, and yes, it was just a little cool! Our coffee maker is used daily at home, yet here, the blender always set the tone. Visiting Cocolobo at least twice a day and diving was unreal in gorgeous Kiddle Bay. Music at the house, inside and out, and what really is the Tourist Trap about? Playing cards and lots of reading, navigating the roads - BOY we took a beating! Donkeys, chickens, and cats they roam, possibly a pig and one unknown! Skinny Legs and Island Blues, but at Miss Lucy's you can never loose. Shopping was eventful in Cruz Bay, and meeting characters who weren't afraid to say "Hey" Above all Bonny was the best guide ever, Sun, Moon & Stars we will remember forever. "WOW! SMS is an incredible Villa! We came to St John for our 40th anniversary and were not disappointed! The panoramic views, the breeze, the comfortable villa, and best of all the great deck! We couldn't get enough of it (even in the rain)! We will long remember Sun, Moon & Stars and plan on coming back.

One of the most spectacular ocean views ever experienced - thank you. We will always remember morning yoga and swims on the deck, late afternoon boat watching and of course, star gazing at night. All superb!

We loved the little touches like frozen water bottles for the cooler, tour books, sunscreen etc. We watched a full red moon rise to the east of Peter Island - amazing! Everything was perfect...many thanks!

What a fabulous house with the most splendid view ever. We so enjoyed our leisurely mornings with coffee on the porch. We enjoyed many breakfasts at home, picnic lunches and grilled a couple of nights. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this lovely house and front porch as well as our entire stay on St John. We will definitely be back!

This view makes you feel like Lord Of The Universe, which makes it pretty tough to go back to the gray sky sludge of Seattle. Thank you for sharing your home with us and making it so special.
