Mountain Creek Cottages are located on several acres of secluded mountain land in the Western North Carolina mountains. From the moment you cross over our mountain creek and enter the property, you will find a peaceful and beautiful place to spend your vacation.
The cottage has a lockout unit that allows the cottage to be 2 bedroom/2 bath. This allows it to sleep up to 7 people. The lockout unit has a queen size bed and a twin.
You can listen to the creek, fish in the small mountain lake, rest in the hammock between the lake and the waterfall on the creek or watch for the wildlife that appears at random. Wild ducks and geese come usually in the spring and fall. If you are lucky, you may see large cranes and other birds that frequently come in the summer. In the spring, the noisiest thing there is the frogs in the lake. The bull frogs have a very deep sound.
If you prefer to explore, there are many interesting places of interest within a short drive. Dupont State Forest, Chimney Rock Park, the Biltmore House Estate, North Carolina state theater in Flat Rock,and the Carl Sandburg estate are just a few places within a few minutes of the cottages. If you would like tickets for any of the above attractions (such as the Flat Rock Playhouse) we will happy to have them waiting for you on your arrival. The tickets will be added to your account automatically.
The cottage wwas renovated in the fall of 2006. It has everything you need to make your vacation a memorable one. The kitchen is fully equipped. You do not have to bring things like dishwasher detergent, salt, pepper, paper towels or toilet tissue.
We will supply what you need for your stay (not just a starter supply). You just need to bring your groceries if you decide to eat on site. There are many nice restaurants in the Hendersonville area. We will have some water and snacks on hand when you get there. There is an iron and ironing board, hair dryer, VCR, DVD, satellite TV, movies and DVD’s to watch.
