Awesome Villa and Awesome Town!!

If you are researching a place to stay in Tamarindo, SEARCH NO MORE! This villa is exactly what you want. The villa was plenty big for my party of 8. It was very clean and well maintained. The private pool is perfect for when you don't want to walk to the beach. Everything is conveniently located within walking disntance to this villa. Tamarindo beach, the restaurants and shops are all within a 4 or 5 minute walk. I cannot wait to return to Tamarindo and to Casa Del Rey!

We had a great time in Tamarindo and really enjoyed this home. With 2 adults and 5 children we had plenty of space and spent a lot of time around the wonderful pool and on the patio. Very close to attractions (beach!) clean, well maintained and very well designed and layed out. Unlike the other reviewer I would suggest that you rent a car, its easy to drive around the town (I drove from the airport) and while everything is close it's still a walk to go shopping or eat.

We were a group of 7 adults who stayed here for 10 days in January. Perfect place to get away from the cold of the upper Midwest. Other reviewers are right on target about both the property and Tamarindo. Only two minor quibbles. Unlike the experience of others, no one was present to walk us through the house on arrival. We had to figure out how to operate the appliances ourselves. As a result, we had to take cold showers the first day until we realized the circuit breaker to the hot water heater had kicked off. Also, the 24/7 security person seemed to be MIA on at least two occasions during our stay. Nevertheless we were unanimous that we would definitely come to Tamarindo again, and if we did we'd stay here without hesitation.

WOULD REALLY RECOMMEND! We rented the house for 2 week family reunion: 7 folks week one, 6 on week 2. House was wonderful size- Beds were VERY comfortable (Master was a short matress, but kind of got used to it). Air conditioning was bit tempermental, as was dishwasher: but a few quick calls to rental office- and viola- back on! Great customer service. Security guards very friendly. Wonderful kitchen & showers. Outdoor grill easy to use, but lighting could have been better. BEACH WAS INCREDIBLE: clean, serene, warm water, great waves for surfing or boogie boarding-no matter your age. Easy 5 min walk. Way better beaches than Langosta and Playa Grande! TOWN: clean & easy to walk around in. Walk to supermarket and take taxi back is recommended. We ate at La Baula pizza: (Authtic wood oven, owners from Italy!), Nibanna (great 2 for 1 drinks- esp Coco Loco, great appertisers, great service and a shot of coconut milk/guaro hits the spot) and Coconuts: great food (bit rich /heavy on sauces, but very yummy), wonderful staff! also would recommend Chef Lane Patrick for in home professional meal: great price for all the food he prepared-and he and his assistant are wonderful hosts! Tamarindo offers lots of stuff to do from ages 7 to 70: lots of day tours or just a few hour escapes: zip line, white water rafting, horseback riding, estuary tour, etc. Almost forgot: saw humback whales w/babies on our catamaran sunset tour: kind of rare for Guanacate region- more common for whales in southern area. PURA VIDA for SURE!

Amazing Family Vacation

If you are looking for a great place to stay in Tamarindo, This. Is. It! My family (7 adults- my parents, my husband and I in our late 20's, my sister and her boyfriend in their early twenties, and my brother in his early thirties) had an absolutely wonderful vacation. The house is located just on the edge of town and just one block from the beach. We loved the location because it felt peaceful not being right in the heart of town and yet it was an easy walk if we wanted to go out to dinner. The house suited all of our needs perfectly. My parents stayed in the guest house and the rest of us "kids" stayed in the main house. We found the beds to be comfortable. the kitchen equipped, and the house tastefully decorated. We loved the open feel of the kitchen and family room and gathered each night for dinners or playing cards. We enjoyed relaxing in and by the pool after a day on the beach. While the beach and pool were relaxing, there is plenty of adventure to be had in Tamarindo. The house was spacious and clean and we greatly appreciated the services of Maria, the cleaning lady. We also felt it was an added safety bonus to have the friendly security guards there 24-7, although we never once felt unsafe in the town on Tamarindo. We really don't think this house will disappoint you!

Our immediate family (7 adults plus a 1 yr old) enjoyed the house in Tamarindo in March 2009, and we thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation. We referred to it as the compound, and some days we would literally never leave! We kept the fridge stocked with groceries (we would walk to the big grocery store and take a taxi back) and beer/wine, and cooked all of our lunches and snacks there, as well as many of our dinners! We would read and play cards on the pool deck, and just soak up the sun... my nephew LOVED hanging out in the pool... all hours of the day! The location was pretty good, a close walk to most things (even though we were on the edge of town), but for pushing strollers, sometimes we wished we were a bit closer to town. The neighboring house had many parties, sometimes extending to 4-5am, which was really our only major complaint... we were on a family vacation, not a party one! The amenities in the house were great, inspite of some technical difficulties with the AC and internet from time to time. All in all, we were thrilled, and have recommended the house to our extended family who are looking for a similar vacation. We are now planning another family vacation, and are starting to look for accommodations... and we are realizing how great (and affordable!) the Tamarindo house (Casa Del Rey) really was!

We had a wonderful stay in Tamarindo! The condo was clean and beautiful, only a few minutes walk to the beach. It was the perfect place to relax at the end of the day by the pool. We had 5 kids with us ranging in age from 11-20 and they all loved the place.
