Stop looking at other rentals. This place is perfect. The only "issue" is the front porch sitting is so awesome you hate to get up and stroll down the street for dinner. :0) We loved the location to everything. The landlord gave us pages if places to dine and the recommendations were onpoint. The condo is very roomy and the bedroom is huge. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and will also recommend this condo to friends.

Excellently located condo just steps away from dining and entertainment. Well decorated with a homey feel, the Real Deal also had a second floor balcony, great for people watching.

The Real Deal was fabulous! Very comfortable living space, great porch for morning coffee, and late night wine and people watching. Perfect place to walk to all places of interest in and around Duval Street. We walked to four different places to view sunset....all spectacular. Ate out every night at great restaurants and the pool/hot tub was an added extra-special treat. Quiet and nice landscaping. Have recommended it several times already. Thanks for the opportunity.

We just returned from a week at The Real Deal, and can't say enough about the condo, the location and the owner's welcoming (she is a true ambassador for Key West!). The condo is on Southard St, and we were able to walk to everything - Key West Bight, Duval, and all the great restaurants. The pool area, while small, was very relaxing with a small water feature and surrounded by trees. Our condo was equipped with everything we could ever need, including a great kitchen, TV's books, movies and a large comfortable bedroom. Just to show you how much we recommend this place, we have already booked our stay for next year! ';

I can't say enough about this property. You absolutely couldn't have a more ideal location. Just park your car and forget it! This property is exactly as described and super clean. Michele provided us with fabulous recommendations and all of them were right on. Blue Heaven was our favorite restaurant and the drag show at La Ti Da is a must. You can believe all the rave reviews for this property.

This place was absolutely perfect for us. The location was ideal and Michele's recommendations were very helpful. In fact, since it was our anniversary, we took her suggestion to eat lunch at Latitudes on Sunset Key. That was our favorite day of the whole trip. The condo is just as advertised and Michele bends over backwards to make sure we have what we need. Coffee on the balcony in the morning was a great way to start our day. The caretaker, whom I call Charles the 2nd, is fantastic as well. He he made sure that we were situated and all was well. He was on the grounds every day so we knew he would be available if we needed him. We will definitely go back to this place. We chose it because of all the great reviews and it was an excellent choice.

I am at lost regarding our stay. Everything was as listed and beyond. There is simply no way to convey to you the bargain this place is. Location, relaxation and a true Key West experience. I could go on and on but just believe the reviews on this one hands down. I never post reviews but had to make sure this owner went recognized. A perfect condo. I will say no more!

The Real Deal is a wonderful condo in Old Town Key West. It's very clean, comfortable, and well located. We particularly loved the large wrap-around porch and the charming caretaker, Charles. Michele, the owner, provided us with numerous excellent, varied suggestions for restaurants and activities. You can't go wrong with this place! My husband and I are already contemplating a return trip next year.

The condo was just as described, you couldn't find a better location in Key West and the owner was unbelievably helpful. She sent several emails with tons of suggestions of things to do and places to eat, wonderful VRBO experience.

We recently stayed at “The Real Deal” and couldn’t have been happier. A little piece of paradise, indeed. The location is perfect – near enough to Duval for an easy walk into town yet situated in a residential neighborhood to enjoy the peace and quiet. The unit itself is spotless, with updated kitchen and appliances, beautifully decorated and the perfect size for the two of us. There is a wonderful wrap-around porch to enjoy some shade, people watching, and a view of the neighborhood. The grounds are kept immaculate by the fabulous Charles who is not only extremely cordial, friendly and a wonderful caretaker but a great storyteller as well! We are early morning people and enjoyed sipping our coffee around the pool each day, usually staying there reading and relaxing until early afternoon before a nap and a trek into town to enjoy some music. While the pool itself is small, unless you are looking for an Olympic workout each day, it is perfect for cooling off when the sun gets too hot. There are many restaurants that deliver in the area so many times we would order lunch in or take a short two block walk to the grocery story for supplies. There is a coffee maker in the unit if you like to make your own, however, I prefer to sample the local coffee places (which are plentiful and all within a few blocks) for their fresh brewed – don’t miss having a cup of Five Brothers café con leche, the best. Michele, the owner, is a joy to work with and will provide you with all kinds of helpful information before you come down. You can tell the pride she takes in ownership, and it’s reflected in every touch. This is truly a fabulous place to stay and we are definitely planning on going back next year!

A Slice of Paradise

The Real Deal is the perfect place to experience the real Key West. It is on a quiet residential street just off the main drag (Duval Street). The location is perfect! You can walk to most of the places that you will want to visit, including restaurants and nightlife. If you fly directly into Key West, there is no need to rent a car. I would recommend renting bikes for the duration of your stay. Biking is a great way to get around this bike-friendly town. The delivery and pick up service from Eaton Bikes was outstanding. Bike locks are included. Key West is an old town with a lot of unexpected and very cool history. Many of the buildings in "Old Town" are over 100 years old. Old Town (South of White Street) is where you will want to spend most of your time during your visit. The Real Deal is one of several units in a beautifully restored old building that captures the historic charm of the town. The condo unit itself is spacious, modern, clean and very comfortable. It includes all of the amenities (WIFI, flat screens TVs, well equipped kitchen, bed linens, towels, etc.). Charles in the onsite property assistant and can help with anything that you need during your stay. He does great work and is very helpful and kind.

Just returned from a week at The Real Deal. Had a wonderful time! Beautifully furnished, neat and clean! Quiet, but close to everything. Loved the grounds and pool! Very well maintained! Charles was a wonderful help to us! Michelle gave us wonderful tips and was great to work with as the owner! The condo is well stocked with almost everything you would need, so you don't need to pack much! The kitchen was very well appointed with almost every kitchen goodie! Even bottle stoppers for left over wine! It was our first extended visit and we look forward to coming back. Bring or rent bikes with baskets as soon as you get there! The condo has a place to lock your bike and it is the best way to get around Key West as driving and parking (even scooters and golf carts) is a challenge! Fausto's Market (right next to the condo) has a great selection of interesting foods, a deli, and wine prices were very reasonable. Do the "tourist things" and visit the museums, Hemingway House, Little White House, and make sure to see the sunset from Fort Zachary State Park. Parking is plentiful there!

Great Place to stay in Key West!!!

My wife and I made our 3rd trip to Key West in July 2011. We have stayed at a resort and another condo previously. This was the best place and location by far. The Real Deal is very cozy with a great wraparound porch to do the people watching that others have wrote about. Many people walk and bike on by here so there is a lot to check out. Inside the "Real Deal" the kitchen is very nice and modern. Great to do some cooking when you are not out sampling the many great places to eat in Key West. Everything is clean and comfortable. Location wise you can't really do any better. Basically Southard street splits the Island in half so that you are easily within walking and biking distance of nearly anything you might visit. The house itself is a block and a half off Duval but as has been mentioned you would hardly notice the hustle and bustle of Duval while at the Real Deal. The courtyard with the pool is very nice and everything is kept clean by the very nice and helpful cleaning gentleman. Easy to relax out there!!! Although we are quite familiar with Key West we took a couple of Michele's recommendations for dinner. Went to L'Atitudes on Sunset Key. Very easy boat rid to get to with just a simple phone call to the Westin Concierge. No charge to go just let em know you're coming. The food and drink was excellent and despite the cost warning it was really not that bad. Had great pizza from the Upper Crust. Otherwise it is difficult to go wrong with food selections as the standards are set pretty high in Key West but the cost is not too bad in most cases. As is the case in Key West there is likely to be some animal company as well. Many cute lizards (outside only) and very friendly compound kitty by the name of Tigger. Loved Her!!! Oh yeah - The Green Parrot is just a hop skip and a jump from the Real Deal. A Key West Classic. All in all loved our stay at the Real Deal and when we go back will definitely look to a return to this very nice condo

I can not say enough great things about "The Read Deal".This property is tastefully decorated and has everything you could ever need for a weekend or a month stay. My wife and I went down for a romantic getaway and had so much fun. We were 1 block from Duval yet never heard a peep from the crowds. The bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed in it andyou still have plenty of room left over to move around. I liked waking up in the morning and enjoying my coffee on the porch that faces Southard St and observe the people coming and going. Having access to a pool made our stay even more enjoyable. This was not my first or last time staying here. I would suggest this property to anyone who is looking for a unique, comfortable and relaxing stay. And if you want some excitement, Duval is just a short walk away!

We just returned from a 4 night stay and our first trip to Key West. This condo was wonderful- exactly as advertised and centrally located. Although we had a car, we never used it as we were able to easily walk to all locations. The condo was clean, nicely decorated, comfortable and we loved the porch and courtyard with pool for lazy morning coffee and evening wine. Michele's suggestions for restaurants and places to visit was invaluable to us newbies, and Charles the local host was equally as helpful in an unobtrusive way. We would highly recommend this to anyone considering an authentic taste of Key West. Loved it!

Best Location + Best Attentiveness = Best Vacation at The Real Deal!

My husband, our 20 year-old daughter, and I returned home from The Real Deal last weekend. Our first trip to Key West and initially we had no idea where to stay. Well, we totally lucked out by choosing The Real Deal! From the moment we made our first inquiry, Michele was the perfect owner to work with and gave us a huge amount of pre-trip information to help us make plans. The condo is in the most wonderful location in Key West. Just as her description states, it's a block and a half from Duval, but at night when you return home, you'd never know the action was close by - wonderfully quiet and restful. Furnished beautifully with a fabulous kitchen set up and a fantastic selection of glasses, the condo is all you could ask for and more! The condo is light and airy with lots of windows and a glorious porch balcony to sit and watch people on the street below. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the pool area is lovely and inviting. And, our biggest rave is saved for Charles who serves as the on-site host, groundskeeper and housekeeper. He was so attentive and obviously cares a great deal about providing the utmost comfort and service to guests. Charles is the kind of staff person every owner dreams about because he truly treats the property as if it were his own and creates a wonderful sense of connection with each guest. We walked everywhere and enjoyed trying new restaurants each night. Sarabeths is our favorite restaurant, mere steps away from the condo. Mallory Square and all the sunset celebration activities are no more than 10-15 away walking down Duval. Truly, the combination of Michele's pre-trip suggestions and guidance, the beautifully clean and lovely condo itself, and Charles' hospitality created the most wonderful vacation we can remember. We will return!

What an absolutely amazing place. My girlfriend and I needed a little getaway and this place hit the spot. It was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Easy access to anything on the island made it perfect. After a late night on Duval St it was nice to walk back to such a nice place. Thank you so much for working with us to allow for early arrival and late departure due to luggage and traveling on the Ferry. I look forward to staying there again in the future and highly recommend this place to anyone!

First time we have stayed in this condo and all I can say is WOW!!! We absolutely loved it. Although the entire condo was exactly what we wanted, we loved the front porch the most. Very relaxing way to start the day in Key West, sitting on the front porch in the sun people watching. We felt so much a part of Key West in this little slice of heaven. All the info we received from Michele about things to do around the island was really helpful ... all those little tips help our trip to go very well. It just seemed so homey to have a nice place to come back to after a day of adventure. We cannot wait to get back and already planning our next trip!!! You will not be disappointed! Best place to stay ... hands down!

This second story condo is everything it appears to be: expertly decorated, clean & comfortable furnishings, tropical setting, incredible location for walking to all attractions: Duval St, Mallory Square, Fort Zach, Southernmost Point, Historic Seaport, Beaches, and all the amazing Key West restaurants. The condo owner, Michele, is terrific to work with--always reachable and extremely helpful. If you are a light sleeper, you will hear some Duval St merrygoers passing by and there is a crazy rooster that crows way before the sun comes up. You do get used to these sounds as you settle in to the island atmosphere. The balcony and pool come in handy for taking a break from all the walking and sight seeing. Restaurants to try include: Sarabeth's one block away, Mangie Mangie, L'Atitudes on Sunset Key, Caroline's for great conch fritters and people watching and Cafe Sole for the Hogfish. We loved our time at the Real Deal & in Key West and will return oneday soon!

I have been to the Keys numberous times and this by far was the best location and nicest place we have stayed. Michele has everything you could want in the condo (the beach towels were awesome) and the pictures online do not do the place justice. The kitchen allowed us to cook some of our own meals, there were tons of extra pillows and linens, and the free WiFi came in so handy when booking excursions and looking at reviews. Michele you are the best and we cannot wait to go back next year!

This place is AMAZING! I am very picky when it comes to our vacation rentals and this place was in fact "THE REAL DEAL." Michele was very hospitable, provided great recommendations and even followed up to ensure we were all cozy. Charles the caretaker was also a pleasure and made sure our stay was perfect. Could not ask for a better location. We had breakfast at Sarabeth's which was 1/2 a block and dinner at Cafe Marquesa w/in 1 block (recommend both). Right in the middle of Duval and the marina. We had several lovely evening strolls. My husband and I have been to Key West and The Keys several times and this was one of the best places yet. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!! Thanks so much for sharing with us.

We always try to stay somewhere different when we vacation but we will FOR SURE be staying here on our next visit. My wife and I just finished a week long stay at The Real Deal. What a great time we had! The location was perfect - close to everything we wanted yet nice and quiet (roosters excepted). The apartment was clean, updated, and comfortable - exactly as described. Michele was extremely helpful with tons of ideas and suggestions as to where to go, what to do, you name it. Since there was no outdoor grill we actually ended up with a great sunset event as we just brought what we needed down to FZT state park, cooked there and enjoyed a much more peaceful sunset than Mallory Square. We can't wait to return!

Wow...we loved this place! Michele, you have a little slice of heaven here! Thanks for sharing! We came here for a vacation, got married and then had our honeymoon..what a week! I stayed at "The Real Deal" for 6 days over New Years 2010. It was awesome, and everyone of my friends that was down there for the week that saw it agreed. It is in a great location and has everything you need. The grocery store is 1 block away and so is the Walgreens.

We traveled to Key West for our 20th wedding anniversary and were so lucky to find The Real Deal on VRBO! The location was perfect; we parked the car and walked everywhere. The condo is beautifully decorated and felt like our home away from home. Michele was amazing to deal with, plus we used the info she emailed us as our tour guide and had a wonderful time. We are already trying to plan a return trip!

I cannot say enough about this property. The Real Deal is just that. Reasonable, clean, friendly guests, GREAT location. We were literally two blocks from Duval but you could hear a pin drop in the house. The pool was great to get in and cool off in, having needing to those 90 degree august evenings. I would recommend Danger Tours for Wind and Wine as well as kayaking and snorkel. Michele was informitive, friendly and quick to respond to every single inquiry. We will be back to Key West and we will stay here again for sure.

We have traveled to Key West for over thirty years and greatly enjoyed our stay at the Real Deal. The room was large, clean and well appointed. It was all the site said and more. We enjoyed the morning coffee on the deck, and afternoon drink around the pool. Charles was very attentive to any needs or concerns. We will definitely be back and will schedule our visit next year as soon as the dates are confirmed. Thank you Michele.

What a way to kick off December! Great space to borrow for a long weekend while folks at home are freezing. We wanted for nothing and we appreciated the resident kitty visiting every day! Coffee on the 2nd floor balcony followed a few hours later with cocktails! Best sleeper sofa I've ever stayed in...we'll be back as soon as possible. The Real Deal is everything you could want in Key West. It was very well appointed, comfortable, clean, and best of all close to everything. Michele was a pleasure to deal with as was Charles, the housekeeper. We were in Key West for a wedding and chose not to stay at the reserved accomodations, instead we decided to take a chance on the Real Deal. Best decision ever! We enjoyed the porch, the lovely garden and pool and the local attractions within walking distance. Next visit to Key West we'll be staying at the Real Deal but for longer than the three nights we enjoyed this visit.

We had been to Key West before and stayed in a condo. Our friends went during the same time and staying in a hotel on Duval. Neither of these places compared to the warm, stylish atmosphere of the Real Deal. It was so convenient to everything (Duval Street, good restaurants, Fausto's, Walgreens, and the sunset at Mallory Square each night). It really made us feel like we were living in Key West. We enjoyed our mornings overlooking Southard from the balcony and our evenings drinking wine in the lovely garden by the pool. We loved it and we will definitely return to The Real Deal!

The "Real Deal" was everything that was advertised on VRBO. It was beautiful, peaceful, comfortable and clean. We walked everywhere and enjoyed many of the restaraunts and activies that Michele suggusted. Joe and I were celebrating our 20th Anniversary and feel we couldn't have made a better selection for our stay.

The Real Deal is the "real deal". We stayed for 6 nights (21-27 Sep) and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Michele has decorated and furnished the condo beautifully. My husband enjoys making breakfast and he was thrilled with the kitchen and appliances in the Real Deal. The location is also part of the real deal. U can walk everywhere, come back to the condo and enjoy the quiet, the pool and garden or just sit on the porch and enjoy the view. Michele provided us a full page of suggested restaurants, shopping and must see places. We carried her list with us and referred to it often. She was right on with all her suggestions. Her list was the "yellow pages" for us. We have added the Real Deal to our "must return location". Thanks again Susan and Jack

We rented the Real Deal #3 thru Michele for my husband's 60th birthday. Since it was such a special occasion I wanted to get just the right place---and we did. The Real Deal is even nicer than the photos showed. The unit was very clean and had everything--even a surprise card and bottle of wine. The pool and the pool area were great and very appropriate for sipping wine or drinking morning coffee. We never had to use a cab or our car--that's how close to everything you are. Michele made everything so easy concerning the booking and refunding the deposit. She had great suggestions as to where to go and where to eat. It is a lovely place and you won't be disappointed.

We loved the Real Deal. This place has it all - flat screen tv's, leather furniture, modern kitchen and bathroom, and a king size bed. The location can't be beat. It's just a short walk down to Duval Street and all the other attractions. This place definitely made our stay. We'll be back!

Our vacation from 8/11-8/15 would not have been so wonderful had it not been for The Real Deal. From the beautifully decorated rooms, well appointed kitchen, and friendly staff/guests, our vacation was complete. So close to all the action, yet so quiet when returning to The Real Deal. Met many new friends with whom we share new memories. Just missed "Fay", of which we are very fortunate. Thanks, Michele, for all of the fantastic restaurant/entertainment tips. DEFINITELY plan to return to The Real Deal!

We've been to Key West a number of times over the past years and havn't really found a rental that we wanted to return to, until now. "The Real Deal" is a perfect spot to stay when in the Keys and I guarentee we'll be staying there again. Michele could not have been any more informative or responsive to our questions and/or concerns. "The Real Deal" is a beautifully decorated, spacious, and comfortable place with access to a great courtyard/pool to meet new people or spend time with the ones you came down with. Not to mention the house location is perfect. I highly recommend this rental. You won't be disappointed.

We stayed at this property in May for 4 nights. The location could not have been better, just a block and a half off Duval, near all the action. This place is just beautiful. Decorated to perfection, the kitchen is amazing, the wrap around front porch is private and a great spot to people watch. I loved our trip, and "The Real Deal" was so perfect. Could not have asked for anything better. Thank you!

We couldn't have been more pleased with the accomodations, location, amenities, and cleanliness. The king size bed was a dream come true! Make SURE you visit Nancy's secret garden right around the corner, and the fresh fish sandwiches from B.O.s fish shack is something I will be dreaming about forever.... thanks Michele for all your help. We WILL be back!
