Photo 1 - Piriapolis, Uruguay, South America Vacation Rental If you’re not familiar with the most beautiful natural setting on the Uruguayan coast, you’ve found it. Piriapolis is a mere 20 minutes from the International Playground of the Americas, Punta del Este and about one hour from Montevideo. Here’s why you might consider a stay in our little beach community. First, there’s the setting: a clear cove, and wonderful lush hills rising from the sea, cradling this city by the bay. Next, Piriapolis is quiet and laid-back expect for the hustle and bustle of the summer crowds in January and February. Even in these frantic months, the flat which is perched just above the city, doesn't suffer from the noise and congestion. If your goal in travel is to see and be seen in international jet set communities, party until dawn, or shop until you drop, Piriapolis is NOT for you. Remember, la Punta is only 20 minutes away. However, if you’ve been there and done that and would rather be asleep at dawn, buy and cook inexpensive fish you can see coming off the boats a few hundred meters from your terraza, have the option of eating/drinking in dozens of spots that are open until early morning, have drinks on your terraza in the early evening with an unobstructed view of heaven, this flat and quaint little town are perfect for you. Now, what does this particular flat have to offer? In a word, Location! Cerro San Antonio is the premier neighborhood in town--quiet, exclusive and close to everything. This flat is perched on a picturesque hillside above the marina and some great seafood restaurants, and is less than one kilometer from the commercial hub of town. The building has only five units; the scale is comfortable, very private and human. For us, these are qualities large buildings will never have.
