180 Degree View of Anini Beach. Family Paradise!

If there is paradise on earth, it is at wonderful Anini Beach. Our home is located about 3 miles down Anini Beach Road, away from Anini Park and the crowds that gather or camp there. Rise with the sun and walk for miles on the beach, swim in the warm waters right in front of the house without worry of big waves (unless it is stormy out), bicycle, skate, windsurf, hike to your hearts content.
This is a private home situated in a cove, that has approximately 1650 sqaure feet of living area, and has hosted guests for over 30 continuous years. The two bedrooms are separated from one another for total privacy. The master suite has an attached bathroom, and the second bedroom is located right next to the second bath. Our kitchen is outstanding if you love to cook, and has a view that most homes at Anini Beach wish for. Plus, this house does not sit up on stilts like most do, which means that with very little effort, it can have wheelchair access. There are only two steps into the master bedroom.
You should know that our home has no television or VCR...by choice of our constantly returning guests who wish to escape with their families and have real vacation time together. Even the kids don't mind as they have their parent's full attention for the entire time they are there. We do have DSL, though, if you really need a "what's happening back home" fix.
This home is not a fancy palace with fine art...it is a beach house where you and your family can truly make yourselves at home and wash away the worries of the world by soaking in the beauty that surrounds you. So, if you expect stained glass windows and silk sheets, you won't find them here. And, we do get rain at times and sometimes storms...so we do not guaranty the weather nor offer refunds if the weather doesn't suit you. I also have to acknowldege that the County of Kauai has taken it upon itself to create some parking out front just recently, to my horror as I was there when it happened, but as one guest who has been going over for years told me,"it was eventually inevitable, as it is such a beautiful and quiet spot to spend time at". But, we do try hard to make your stay special...and can offer rainy day tips if you need them. All you have to do is ask.

We arrived in Kauai with a long list of activities to complete during our stay on the Garden Isle. However, most were forgotten once we arrived at this Anini Beach gem! Comfortable and well appointed, we found that we never wanted to leave the lanai! The home is all that the owner describes and more. Plus she was very helpful and quickly responded to any questions we had about the property, surrounding area, and local attractions. Jo, thank you again for sharing your home and for your hospitality. You truly have a little piece of heaven here on earth and we look forward to staying with you again! *Some local places and activities we recommend: The bistro and the bakery in Kilaueah, Tahiti Nui in Hanalei. Smith's Luau, Capt. Andy's Na Pali sunset dinner cruise on the Southern Star (out of Port Allen). Also the Sunday morning service at the Hanalei Church of Christ is very uplifting!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

Aloha! We stayed at this gem for Christmas, New Years Eve and then was married on New Years Day. Words cannot express how this house just draws you in and allows you to soak up quality family time as well as the amazing sun. This house includes all the basics needs to live, not to mention previous guests leave a little something behind for the next guest to use. Six of us stayed in the house and there was plenty of room. The kitchen is large enough for several people to prep and prepare meals. There are two BBQ (charcoal) grills provided and we used them both! On our wedding day, we hosted close to 20 people at the house and the way the house is laid out is perfect for entertaining. The front porch and front yard were some of our favorite places to hang out in the morning, before going steps across to the beach, and in the evening to relax and listen to the waves. There are so many favorites we have with this house. We loved the fact that there was not a television. Two 16 year old girls & no TV = time to connect and talk. The entire area is beautiful! The pictures do not do this little bit of paradise justice. We hope to come back to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Mahalo! ~SusanRecommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

Thank you for letting us enjoy your home! We stayed the week of August 13-20 and had a wonderful time, everything was perfect. We have visited Kauai several times in the past, always staying in the Poipu area, this was the first time staying on the North shore at Anini Beach, we were looking for a spot that we could relax and not have to get in the car everytime we wanted to go to the beach or spend the day snorkeling and playing in the water; this was the perfect spot. Thank you again, we will be back.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: It is so nice to hear, from year to year, how much our little piece of Anini is appreciated. Thank you for you review. I look forward to having you back as a guest again...and again...and again! :)

The view here...INDESCRIBABLE! You walk out the front door, across the small yard, across a very narrow street, and step on the beach. The water is fabulous!!! The waves don't start until you are about 200 yards out. GREAT snorkeling!!! The island is FABULOUS!!! I loved just driving in my rental car (Mustang convertible) and taking in the sites and the fresh air. The Smith's Luau is FANTASTIC!!! Highly recommend!!! Also, a helicopter tour of the island is VERY HIGH on the list! Jo, thank you for providing such a WONDEREFUL home. Everything was PERFECT!!! Hope to visit again in the near future! My wife and I just spent a week here celebrating our 25th. anniversary and Vow renewal on the beach. The home is immaculate. The ocean view is paradise perfect. Being located on the north shore, this property is away from the main tourist population, but still close to excellent dining and shopping. The weather could not have been better in this area. The house itself has everything needed for a perfect stay. Plenty of linens and the kitchen had everything you could think of. The fact that the home had no TV, was a plus. It totally increased our quality time. The size of this home would have handled 3 times the number of people we had. Excellent family vacation home. So nice to be able to walk bare footed across the street to the beach. Bring wet socks for the ocean though, there is an abundance of coral in the beach area. Great for snorkeling. We would definately stay at this property again. Much cheaper than staying at the resorts, and so much more privacy. This listing was accurately portrayed and is everything it says it is.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you, Terry. I have forwarded your aloha on to Yen, who takes such wonderful care of my home. I know that this was a special time for you and your wife, and am so please to hear that it was all you expected and more. Kauai and Anini Beach are truly "no ka oi"!

This idyllic house on Anini beach was everything advertised and more. It was the perfect setting for our family and it played an enormous role in making it our best vacation ever. The location is great for kids, but really perfect for anyone. The property itself is beautiful and the setting is even grander. Just walk across the road and you’re at the beach where you can sunbath, swim and snorkel. We rented a kayak for the week and it was perfect for that as well. While it is set away down a lovely road, it is close enough to restaurants, shops and amenities that makes it a perfect location. My only regrets are that we had to eventually leave and that I am posting this review (because I would hate for it to be booked when I wanted to back ?). It is a great place!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We stayed here with our two children, ages 5 months and 4 years at the time. We stayed for 11 days and only left for more ahi and to visit the farmer's market. There is no need to leave, it is so beautiful and the water is perfect for children. Our son learned to swim right out in front and I never had to worry about losing sight of him in the water, it's perfectly calm and clear. We stayed up late trying with all our might to dig into the huge coconuts off of the trees and woke up in the mornings to fresh avocado off the trees in back. We are hoping to make it back this year and it is the only vacation spot we know we will return to again and again. Thanks Jo!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Not a better place on earth than this home on Anini Beach! My husband and I too came here for the first time on our honeymoon. We have returned a few times and this continues to be our first choice. We have stayed at another property on this street, it too was wonderful but we love this place. I think the prettiest part of Anini is right out front of this home. There was a shower outback and we enjoyed it every day - simply delightful. There is always a "dibbs" call on the beds in the front windows. Its the best listening to the rain at night and waking up to the deliciously still Anini mornings. I especially love that it does not have a television and the Hawaiin music library was just fabulous. Just like the listing says; the morning stroll with coffee and the evening cocktail(if thats your thing) are truly delightful. I cant believe only 2 people have rated this gem! By far, our favorite! Thank you Jo for sharing and making some of our dreams come true too. Mahalo from the Plane family~Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

This beach house was great! The pictures dont lie. he view from the house is spectacular and being steps from the beach is wonderful. Nice calm water allows to practice your snorkeling. Minutes from Princeville resort and Ziplining. The stars at night were great since I live in the city I dont get to see so many stars at night. Went their for my honeymoon and it was perfect!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

About the owner: I have been one of the longest running vacation rental units at Anini Beach. Read our reviews and guest book. They say it all.
Why the Owner Chose Anini Beach:
This is one of the most beautiful spots on earth. I spent my honeymoon there 40 years ago. It is one of the most romantic places I have ever been to. My former husband was born in Honolulu and raised on Kauai.mostly at Anini, and we spent the summers and holidays there with our daughters. My oldest has just had twin daughters and they have started their own Anini tradition. It is a wonderful place to spend with your children, which is what Hawaiian culture is all about.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Waking with the sun rise, coffee and a walk on the beach, incredible sunsets during most of the summer months, watching for the "green flash" from our deck, usually no waves on the beach to worry about, helping your little ones feed the crabs at dusk, reef walking at low tide, being able to let your children run on the beach most months without worry. Peaceful relaxation. No steep stairs to climb...
