Location: Anini Beach, North Kauai, Kauai, Hawaii, USA (25 Miles from the Lihue Airport, 10 Minutes to Princeville)

Accommodations:  Beach Home, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6)

If there is paradise on earth, it is at wonderful Anini Beach. Our home is located about 3 miles down Anini Beach Road, away from Anini Park and the crowds that gather or camp there. Walk to the Polo Matches which run May thru September, rise with the sun and walk for miles on the beach, swim in the warm waters right in front of the house without worry of big waves (unless it is stormy out), bicycle, skate, windsurf, hike to your hearts content.

This is a private home situated in a cove, that has approximately 1650 sqaure feet of living area, and has hosted guests for over 30 continuous years. The two bedrooms are separated from one another for total privacy. The master suite has an attached bathroom, and the second bedroom is located right next to the second bath. Our kitchen is outstanding if you love to cook, and has a view that most homes at Anini Beach wish for. Plus, this house does not sit up on stilts like most do, which means that with very little effort, it can have wheelchair access. There are only two steps into the master bedroom.

You should know that our home has no television or VCR...by choice of our constantly returning guests who wish to escape with their families and have real vacation time together. Even the kids don't mind as they have their parent's full attention for the entire time they are there. We do have DSL, though, if you really need a "what's happening back home" fix.

This home is not a fancy palace with fine art...it is a beach house where you and your family can truly make yourselves at home and wash away the worries of the world by soaking in the beauty that surrounds you. So, if you expect stained glass windows and silk sheets, you won't find them here. And, we do get rain at times and sometimes storms...so we do not guaranty the weather nor offer refunds if the weather doesn't suit you. But, we do try hard to make your stay special...and can offer rainy day tips if you need them. All you have to do is ask.

  • Oceanfront: There is a 4 mile long, narrow country road that dead-ends 1/2 mile further down and exists between our home and the beach, with no features blocking the view except 3 coconut trees. An idyllic setting.

  • Wheelchair Accessible (may have limitations): Wheel chair accessibility is limited, but possible, as our home does not sit high up on stilts. A wheel chair can be accommodated through the master bedroom sliding glass door as it only has one step up into the house. We have no ramp, though nor grab bars in the bathrooms.
  • Kid Friendly: We welcome families with small children. There are games, puzzles and childrens books for them to enjoy, and we offer kid-friendly ideas to make their stay more fun. The beach is very protected by a continuous barrier reef, with shallow swimming holes for them to snorkle and swim in. There is no wave action on the beach unless there is a serious storm (winter months, so they can play and run on the beach without worry of them being pulled into the ocean. We urge you to exercise caution, though, and make sure your children are always supervised.

Personal Currency Assistant™

$2000/week .. +$175 cleaning fee up to four persons.   (2009 rates)
$ 125/week per person, over 4 up to 6 + $200 cleaning fee.
Please ask for a copy of our contract to see refund and reservation policies.
$200/wk deposit will hold the reservation time, with the balance due 90 days prior
to arrival. We only accept checks at the current time.
We generally book on a Monday to Monday schedule, especially during the summer
months and the Holidays.  If a stay is longer than one week, we will book on
alternate days of the week as long as the stay begins or ends on a Monday.

  • We stayed here with our two children, ages 5 months and 4 years at the time. We stayed for 11 days and only left for more ahi and to visit the farmer's market. There is no need to leave, it is so beautiful and the water is perfect for children. Our son learned to swim right out in front and I never had to worry about losing sight of him in the water, it's perfectly calm and clear. We stayed up late trying with all our might to dig into the huge coconuts off of the trees and woke up in the mornings to fresh avocado off the trees in back. We are hoping to make it back this year and it is the only vacation spot we know we will return to again and again. Thanks Jo!

  • Not a better place on earth than this home on Anini Beach! My husband and I too came here for the first time on our honeymoon. We have returned a few times and this continues to be our first choice. We have stayed at another property on this street, it too was wonderful but we love this place. I think the prettiest part of Anini is right out front of this home. There was a shower outback and we enjoyed it every day - simply delightful. There is always a "dibbs" call on the beds in the front windows. Its the best listening to the rain at night and waking up to the deliciously still Anini mornings. I especially love that it does not have a television and the Hawaiin music library was just fabulous. Just like the listing says; the morning stroll with coffee and the evening cocktail(if thats your thing) are truly delightful. I cant believe only 2 people have rated this gem! By far, our favorite! Thank you Jo for sharing and making some of our dreams come true too. Mahalo from the Plane family~

  • This beach house was great! The pictures dont lie. he view from the house is spectacular and being steps from the beach is wonderful. Nice calm water allows to practice your snorkeling. Minutes from Princeville resort and Ziplining. The stars at night were great since I live in the city I dont get to see so many stars at night. Went their for my honeymoon and it was perfect!

  • This is my favorite vacation spot in the world. This house has wonderful older home ambiance (remodeled with great care, only a few steps across the road to the water. Perfect spot to stay and still have access to all the great fun on the north side of the island. It has been 11 years since we stayed here, but the house should be no different than it was then, and I long to return. We stayed here four different summers back then and hope to afford a return sometime soon. We have stayed in other homes on Anini and just love the ground level, unpretentious comfort that this house offers.
