This cabin had more than we expected. Very spacious and comfortable. The washer and dryers were quite a surprise especially after a full day of hitting the slope. The kitchen had all the kitchenware we needed in order to cook the perfect meal. The grocery store is just around the corner including a red box to rent movies. We left all our gear outside in the garage area. Safe and clear along with our vehicle. The cabin had board games and books. The wi-fi was a huge plus for us. I will rent this cabin every year. The rental agency was easy to deal with. Very friendly for all our questions....Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Fantastic views from a back window wall facing the mountains. Clean with everything we needed for meals, snacks etc. Very quiet and beautiful star gazing. Accommodations are dated but well maintained. Our stay was very enjoyable as we were within a short distance to the golf course, restaurants and shopping. We could recommend this to families or couples.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stayed in the cabin for four nights. The place is large, very well equipped, with beautiful views of the mountains. Its description on the website matched the reality. The renting company was very friendly, so were the owners. The place is less than a mile away from a grocery store, fast food and restaurants and a major highway. The only thing I would make others aware of is that the cabin carries sounds very well, so if you sleep upstairs, you will hear every word somebody says in the downstair's bedroom. I would recommend this cabin to anybody accept to wheelchair users. The place can be used as a single level as there is a bedroom and a full bathroom on the main level. The laundry room is upstairs. There are a few steps to the main level though. There are a few things to do in Pagosa Springs and plenty of places around for day trips, like Durango, Million Dollar Highway and Ouray, Mesa Verde Park... Half-day trips include Wildlife Park and Treasure Falls. When it comes to visiting Hot Springs, your choice would depend on how much you are willing to spend and what you need. The main Hot Springs in Pagosa Springs are pricy ($20/person) though pretty. Right across the street from those is a low key hot springs swimming pool (cca 90F) that doesn't use chlorine and there is also a hot tub. The pool is about 5 ft deep. ($10/person). For a family I would recommend Hot Springs in Ouray ($10/person, $7/child) where the main pool is about 95F and between 2 and 3 ft deep. There is also a deeper lap pool (77F). The views from the pools are breathtaking. The warmer pool is accessible, having a transfer chair. We hope to make staying in the cabin our family tradition as we really love the place and its surroundings. Thank you for making the cabin available to others.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks for sending in a review. We are glad that you enjoyed the house as much as we do. We are certainly aware when people are upstairs, but if you talk quietly, your words should not be heard. We look forward to having you stay at our KickBack Cabin again.....The Freytags

This house is extremely comfortable and we enjoyed it very much. There were 6 of us and we had more than enough room. The area around the house was serene and quite, yet we could see the neighbors. Pagosa Springs is a fun little town with lots to do and see. We rode the "Wild West Train" in Chama, NM and went to Durango, Silverton and Ouray, CO. - all only a couple of hours away. We visited the Wild Animal Park in Pagosa and ate at several of the restaurants - all very good. We had a great time and Kick-Back Cabin certainly added to the fun. Thank you for sharing your house with us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Wow, what a great place to relax and enjoy country life. We stayed for the first time last year. It was raining when we arrived and we took a nap in really comfy beds. Great scenery and the only thing lacking was a hair dryer (no biggie). We've told numerous people about "kick back cabin" in Pagosa.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We love this house and come back every summer. The owners are reliable and use the house themselves so it is well maintained. The birds are great in the meadow overlooking the mountains. And it is convenient to town with shopping and restaurants.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

Wow! What a lovely place. Your home was clean and well equipped. We so appreciate the extras. The view is beautiful. Our grandson and his 2 friends learned to snowboard and they are hooked. Mary and Ron, thanks for the personal way you treated each call, actually caring that our stay was nice. With 3 teenagers we loved the washer and dryer. Hope to visit your beautiful place again and will certainly tell others.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3
