Nice place, my Wife & I like to get away in the winter to a cabin in the woods with hot tub and fireplace. The home is open and airy, nice wood boards on every wall, master bedroom was nice and open, the bedroom TV's didn't have any reception but who needs a TV in the woods. The TV in the living room was small but did have direct TV with HBO. Nice open kitchen with cutting board in middle. The outside was totally different from the inside, old rustic looking still with evidence of the storms we had this year. Some of the porch boards might need replaced though. Overall wonderful experience and would love to return.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at the Dunmore Hideaway, Sept. 22 to Sept 24, 2012. The Dunmore, is a quaint., rustic, cabin. It has a great kitchen, fireplace and hot tub. The furniture and beds are confortable. I'ts peaceful, quiet & secluded. We wanted to stay a few more days, but could not get a call back from the owner. We would stay again. R.J.M. (Ohio,TN.)Recommended for: Adventure seekers.

The disrepair of the facility led us to cut our August 3 day stay short to 1 night. The porch was not safe – an entire 8 foot length of top railing on the back deck had broken off (a chaise lounge was positioned in front of it) and throw rugs on the front section covered up what looked like gaps in the flooring. This led us to not trust the safety of the spa on the deck. Missing or inoperable light bulbs throughout the house and other maintenance issues added to the unsatisfactory experience. The washer and dryer worked fine and the house was clean.Owner response: Obviously unaware of the huge storm that overcame our state and left all who live in this area out of power, water, gas or other luxuries. Not to mention the huge amounts of work that everyone was overloaded with. You would have thought that the huge tree trunks still left laying would have given an indication as to what kind of work and disaster we had. Repairmen have been asked to come to repair issues I cannot perform myself but have been overloaded as well. Lightbulbs are left on all the time by renters and even after they leave. And "no" I do not include aluminum foil and plastic wrap as part of my "amenities" as left in your letter. I'm very sorry that the rental did not work out for either one of us, sometimes that is the way things are supposed go.

Three friends & I stayed here recently (October 2011) for a girls getaway. If you want piece, quiet, and relaxation with the feel of being at home, this is the place for you! We absoultely LOVED it! It is very spacious with lots of amenities (washer, dryer, microwave, coffee pot, dishwasher, fridge w/ice maker, hot tub, tv, dvd player, stereo, plenty of bedding and linens, dishes, firewood, phone, wi fi) and affordable. My friends & I concluded that it is a "vacation away from a vaction".....because you don't have to make plans to do anything! We stayed for three nights and just lounged around the entire time. I could go on and on, but you'd be better off to see for youself! I hope anyone else who decides to stay here enjoys their time as much as we did! We plan to go back annually, if not semi-annually. Tina, the owner, was great to work with also! Very friendly and easy-going! Thank you so much for everything! Joyce B. P.S. The ONLY thing I would suggest.....a bigger tv, maybe even a flat screen!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We needed a place to escape to from the stresses of life. We found it! We loved the Dunmore cabin and all it had to offer. Debbie and Tina were both a joy to deal with (re: any issues that came up at the cabin), and easy to do business with. Our stay was for a week and we hated leaving. Our 4 kids ages 10, 4, and twins 20mos. had a blast in the hot tub, and running around in the yard. We all enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and are looking forward to when we can return to the Dunmore cabin. The only reason I did not give a full 5 stars is simply due to the issues that did affect the quality of our stay, I know the owner was in the process of fixing those things (broken dining chairs and leak in the skylight) so the next time we stay will be a 5 star experience! THANK YOU so MUCH!! I have already told friends and family how wonderful our stay was. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was fun to use, although we used the grill most nights.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
