Our two families stayed here in August 2011 & what a wonderful place to be !!! It was perfect for our exploring on that side of the island & the kids loved exploring, climbing trees & picking fruit !! Owners were very friendly & caretaker went above & beyond to return something that I had left there !! Would recommend to anyone & would love to return in the future !!

This place is fantastic. You would be crazy not to stay here! It is extremely well equipped, clean, regularly treated for bugs and best of all, the beds are so comfortable, best beds by far in any place we have ever stayed. The property is loads of fun. Our teenagers had fun picking and sampling all the exotic fruit that grows on the property and our little ones spent loads of time chasing the chickens that roam around. It is very quit and private. You do have to drive to visit the things that make Hawaii special, but so what, I have to drive to get milk too. Shirley, the property manager is one of the nicest people we have ever met. This is the only place we would ever even consider staying in Hawaii. Thanks Denise for a great time.

Felt like home

Date of Stay: 09/11/10 Review Submitted: 09/21/10

We stayed a week, which of course isn't enough, but such is life. It was a busy time with all the things we wanted to see, but every day we looked forward to returning to the house. It was so comfortable, well laid out and just a great place to enjoy. We had some lemonade made fresh from the lemon tree, papaya several times, we nabbed the last orange of the season, and even some grapefruit. Watching all the creatures was great fun especially the baby mongoose. Plenty of birds to enjoy and a few geckos entertained us. We found the Malama market just a few miles away to be very nice and the prices were as good as in the bigger towns. There were 5 of us and it was unanimous - "Terrific". We loved it! Hated to leave. If you like the peace and quiet, room to take a walk, a fabulous lanai view of the ocean in the morning while you drink coffee - you better just stay here. It's a perfect spot in between Kona and Hilo - depending on your perspective not a long drive to either. (We live in Montana so an hour or so for us is nothing but a nice scenic drive.) There's plenty to see and do within 15-20 minutes, so don't think you have to drive that far to get places. We could go on and on, but we'll just leave it with - wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing your home with us! The Watts family

We stayed here in June 2009 for four days and it was just not enough time to fully enjoy this beautiful home and lovely grounds, so we returned again this December for 15 nights. We can't wait to return again. Everything is perfect, high-speed internet, Dish Network TV and DVD, great Bar-b-que, a well-appointed kitchen, fresh papayas and lemons off the trees. A perfect place to relax and unwind to enjoy the beauty of the Big Island. Highly recommend this home for those looking for a non-tourist vacation to Hawaii.
