Pool, Screened porch and outdoor "kitchen" positioned for ocean breezes
Location: Isle of Palms, Isle of Palms, Charleston Area, Rest of South Carolina, South Carolina, USA (20 minutes from historic Charleston, SC)
Accommodations: House, 6 Bedrooms + Den, 7 Baths (Sleeps 14-17)
Keywords: House
This spacious, luxury home, built in 2003, offers an open, welcoming floor plan in the common areas yet plenty of privacy in the sleeping quarters. For beach lovers, a two minute walk down the access path over the dunes takes you to the ocean across the street. For pool lovers, relax in your own private pool with spa or rest under the palm trees with a good book.
The large kitchen with 2 refrigerators, separate ice maker, wine refrigerator, and large pantry easily accommodates multiple cooks and helpers preparing meals to be served at the big family table. The outdoor kitchen in the pool area makes barbecueing easy and fun. The spacious great room provides plenty of seating for gathering friends and family while the library/media room provides a calm refuge for curling up with a good book from a diverse selection offered or for watching a movie on the large flat screen television. The screened porch is a great place to end the afternoon with a cool drink watching the kids play in the pool while the sun sets. Huge windows everywhere in the home bring in lots of light and provide beautiful vistas for all.
The entire house and outdoor entertaining areas are all oriented toward the ocean to maximize ocean breezes and views. The kitchen, dining area and great room flow to the screened porch which overlooks the pool. That means those on kitchen duty can still be part of "the action" while preparing meals.
Five of the six bedrooms are located on the second floor, including both Master Suites. All have at least some view of the ocean and there is a lovely covered deck off the 2nd floor hallway which is great for early morning coffee and watching the ships come and go from the harbor. There is a large bedroom on the main floor with private bath which is perfect for older children who may be out later in the evening or for older couples for whom stairs may be difficult. Each bedroom has its own television plus there is a large screen tv in the media room and another television in the great room. There is also wireless internet service for those who need to do a little work while on vacation.
There are several good restaurants and local pubs within walking distance and excellent shopping and a movie theater 10 minutes away. The Isle of Palms marina offers fishing charters, boat rentals, jet skis, parasailing and barrier island tours for the adventurous. The two Tom Fazio designed golf courses at Wild Dunes are available for your use and are just 5 minutes away.

Wonderful Home for a multi-family Vacation!!!

We absolutely loved this home! We had family come in from far and wide to stay. We had 16 people and fit comfortably into the home. The huge dining area allowed us all to sit together with the exception of the four youngest, who loved eating at the breakfast bar next to the table. The pool, jacuzzi, outdoor shower, outside bathroom and outdoor kitchen (including refrigerator) were the best! Great area to hang out in and relax. It was nice that the people grilling were right there with everyone! The screened porch was a nice touch too. It was also nice to relax and have quiet time on the roof-top patio overlooking the ocean. The walk to the beach was easy and we practically had our own private beach. Our area was not crowded at all. The home was convenient to many activities and was in close proximity to Charleston. The only two negative things I have to say are: 1). I wish there was one more bathroom upstairs. Two bedrooms had to share a bathroom (which was not very clear on the description). 2). I wish I could have brought my dog! Otherwise, it was the perfect house for our family!

This property was an excellent choice for our annual girl's beach weekend; 15 women ranging from our 30's to 60's! Utilizing the sleeper sofa in the media room, there was ample sleeping space for all (although one sofa sleeper would not pull out). The decor is luxurious and tasteful and we LOVED the pool area and heated spa. Two especially nice touches for our large group included the large dining table, where we could enjoy a few meals together, and plentyof comfy seating in the living room. The bathrooms were spacious; there's even a full bath outside off the pool area. The "ocean views" are actually pretty distant (only through other homes' roofs) and are visible only from the second floor and upper level widow's walk (which is too small for much sitting & socializing). However, with the beautiful landscaping and the screened porch & pool view, we didn't really miss them, as the beach itself is only a short walk away. The owner was delightful to deal with and provided many thoughtful touches that are sure to enhance any stay. The minor problems we had were quickly and professionally rectified. Our group definitely plans a return trip to this lovely home. Our only suggestions for improvement would be some window treatments in the living room to help cut down on the bright early morning sun. Otherwise...heaven!
