Wow! Vacation homes like this don't come around very often. The Lady Slipper Lodge is located in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest in north cental Minnesota just 3 1/2 hours north of the Twin Cities. It offers privacy and serenity on a 30-acre woodsy point between a 54' deep 80-acre lake and a 25' deep 60-acre lake. The Lodge is just 90' from the the lakes on both sides of the point and there is a lake view out of every window.
The Lodge is the only home on one of the two lakes and it shares the other lake with only one other lake home. All the rest of the land all around both lakes is National Park, state or county land.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Lady Slipper Lodge in early September. This well-kept, high quality cabin has a unique setting on its own peninsula, with great walking trails through the woods. As you drive that last mile or so through the woods to reach the cabin, you'll feel like you are truly surrounded by nature, but with the comforts of home. In addition to fishing, there is plenty of yard space outside for lawn games. And the game room in the basement is great for evenings or rainy days. Even though you feel like you are secluded in your own private place, the town of Remer is an easy drive where you can find pretty much anything you need. Last but not least, the owner is pleasure to deal with, and very reponsive to questions. Thanks Tony!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

We recently stayed at Lady Slipper Lodge between Christmas and New Year's. What an absolutely beautiful place to celebrate with family! We had a wonderful time! The lodge was clean, spacious, and the PERFECT place to gather our whole family together for Christmas. The owner was helpful in answering all of our questions and concerns and was extremely pleasant and easy to work with. The first night it snowed and made the vacation stay complete. We went sledding, ice fishing, hiking, and skating. We enjoyed a warm fireplace, great conversation, games and FUN. Our grandson, age 2, had a wonderful time playing outside and fishing on the lakes. The photos are an accurate representation of the beauty of the lodge. We would highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a great getaway. It is quiet, peaceful, and absolutely gorgeous. We also were able to bring our dogs which was a special treat for them and us!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad the weather and fish cooperated to make your stay memorable. Please come back any time. Tony

Our family stayed at the LSL over Labor Day weekend. The weather was perfect, as was the cabin, the lakes, the trails, the ammenities. Our children (age 2 and 4) caught their first fish on the lakes and were hooked on fishing after that! The "cabin" (if you can call it that!!!) was beautiful, with every utensil/cooking item we needed in the kitchen. We loved the games and movies that were available. The kids had treasure hunts and hikes through the woods. The trails and scenery was amazing. In Remer, the local gas stations were very helpful, and the ice cream shop was a favorite place :) This was the perfect vacation for our family, and we will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful stay!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind review. We think so too and are glad we could share it with you. Tony

We had an amazing family getaway at the Lady Slipper Lodge. The Lodge itself was beautiful. The views from inside the cabin were amazing & the pictures on the site don't do it justice, beautiful large picture windows and cabin decor. There were all the amenities of home which made it very comfortable for all of us. Tony was very very easy to work with and answered every email or phone call the same day, making us feel very secure in the large amount of money we were sending him :) Our family enjoyed the pontoon and seclusion on the lake. The entire time we were there we only saw one other boat on the lake! The fishing was amazing to, lots and lots of Northern were caught by all. The lodge had a great fish cleaning station outside which made it very convenient to clean all those fish! There were also tons and tons of trails to go walking on or to take your 4-wheeler on. The seclusion of this cabin really fit our needs and was amazing. There were only two down falls to this getaway: 1. The insane amount of flying creatures. Bring your bug spray and you might want to get some "yard guard" if you plan to use the fire pit as it was impossible with out it. 2. The second would be the water pressure in the house. If you're an avid showerer you'll be disappointed, as the water pressure in the house is lack luster, but we didn't mind too much as we were "roughing it" for the week :) Our entire family enjoyed it so much we hope to make a yearly trip to the Lady Slipper Lodge!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for the kind words. We are always very pleased to hear that others experience the same enjoyment as we do when we stay at the Lady Slipper Lodge. Regarding the water pressure, we noticed too that when we installed a hose in the upstairs shower recently. I think we'll go back to the way it was without the hose. The pressure was fine then. As for the bugs, just like everywhere else, they decend at sunset and are pretty nasty for 45 minutes or so. Other than that, since we are on a hill, there is always a nice breeze at the lodge and this helps make the house itself and the yard very pleasant. The fire pit though is at the bottom of the hill and it is protected from the wind, so mosquitos there are quite unavaildable.
