La Casita De Tucson - a Unique Private Getaway W/Pool & Spa
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
La Casita de Tucson is a unique private getaway for two adults. Our guesthouse has a hot tub & counter-current pool and a large deck for picnics and sunbathing. Great view of the Catalina Mts from the pool area.
Located in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains, our guests feel the spaciousness and serenity of the Sonoran Desert and enjoy the beauty of our surrounding mountains and star-filled nights. But we are only 20 minutes from downtown and 25 minutes or less to the University of Arizona and several golf courses, including The Pines & Starr Pass. Silverbell, a well-maintained muni, is only 10 minutes away. Good restaurants are about 15 minutes down the road.
The furnishings and decor are definitely Southwestern comfortable. The main room has a high-end home theater with 56" HDTV, Blue Ray DVD player, and built in surround sound. Here you will find an extensive library of CD's and DVD's. WiFi, of course.
The bathroom has a beautifully tiled walk-in shower. Fresh linens & towels provided.
La Casita has its own backyard, patio, and BBQ and our guests enjoy interesting grounds, including cactus gardens, a rose garden, a mission fountain, and three patios with many strange and fascinating plants. Laundry can easily be arranged. The washer/dryer are in the main residence. Just ask.
La Casita is perfect for those who want to visit Southern Arizona's many attractions, such as Bisbee, Tombstone, Titan Missile Site, Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum, Air and Space Museum and our excellent history museums that illustrate the area's rich Native American, Spanish, Mexican and Anglo heritage. Several fine Indian Casinos are nearby. Many hiking trails nearby.

You can ride right to the Sweetwater Preserve (1.6 miles away) for single track mountain biking! The photos do justice to the casita and Buddy the dog is even more charming in person.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed here for five nights in February, 2013. It is a lovely place with lots of room. The property is also nice in the foothills above Tuscon and next door to the national park. We used it as a base for touring around Tucson. The hosts, Jim and Karen were most gracious. They are very knowledgeable about the area and provided excellent recommendations on things to do and see. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves here.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

After our fourth stay with Jim & Karen & Buddy, I realized that, although we have signed the guestbook, we haven't reviewed the property for VRBO. This will rectify that. The casita is even nicer than the pictures on the listing make it look. Everything is very clean and up to date. The huge TV and entertainment system is a great way to relax in the casita, or you can choose from the 500+ books on every subject in the library. The location in the Tucson Mountain foothills is ideal - close enough to the city, but even closer to fantastic hiking on Mt. Wasson. Being in the foothills, you are in the middle of the desert with all the quiet and sky that goes with that. Coyotes can be heard in the night, and this last time we saw a javelina. While we haven't used the hot tub or pools, we sat next to them as we enjoyed the cocktail hour (peanut time) on the deck with Jim, Karen & Buddy. They can give you advice on the best spots to hike and the restaurants people like the best. Our favorites were Vivace for great Italian and a reasonably priced wine list, and Poca Cosa for Mexican food like you have never had before. Be sure to try their margaritas. We will be back again. It is so nice to have a place like this, for about what you would spend on a hotel.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
