The Hubs and I, plus our 2 friends, had the pleasure of spending 3 weeks in this quiet and quaint apartment on the oh so charming Ile St. Louis. It was the perfect home base for easy walking tours in The Marais, The Latin Quarter, and beyond. Hearing the bells at Notre Dame was an added bonus. Metro stops nearby, tons of great restaurants right outside your door (try the jambon et fromage crepe at the stand at the end of the block!), and a beautiful view outside your living room window. Perfect for 2 couples or a small family!

We rented this property for the month of December, and it was a great home base to stage our explorations of Paris from. The Marais is just a short walk to the north with a lot of great food shops and other shopping, and the island itself has one of the best butchers in Paris not far from the apartment. The rooms are decently sized and the kitchen is stocked with whatever you might need for cooking dinner. The apartment has it's own WiFi (not shared) and an iPad was provided for us to use to look things up on the internet. There's also a voip phone on which you can make free calls to the US! Sauveur and Dominic were very helpful in getting everything arranged and showing us how to use all the appliances in the apartment. The apartment was in great shape on our arrival, and there was even a bottle of wine waiting for us! When I come back to Paris, I would certainly consider staying here again.

Perfect Paris Experience

What can I add? You step outside of your home-away-from home on the Ile Saint Louis, and the first thing you see is the serene Seine and a dramatic view of Notre Dame. You are within walking distance of some of the finest eating, shopping, and sightseeing I've ever experienced. Sauveur's apartment is cozy and lovingly appointed, situated in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in all of Paris. Everything we needed was available within reach. We were four adults in this two-bedroom abode, and could not have been more comfortable. This is the second time we have stayed in one of Sauveur's rentals and there is not one thing we would change. The challenge now is to figure out how to get Sauveur to adopt us. Thank you from a grateful San Francisco family.

Clean-great hot water pressure. Everything you need. Sleeping 6 would be a stretch w 1 bathroom. Elevator does not go to the apt-you have to drag your bags up a flight.

Owner response:The elevator does not stop at the second floor, but at the 3rd floor and on. The apartment is indeed comfortable for 4 persons ( 4 twins, 2 queens, or 1 queen + 2 twins). It is possible to have one or 2 more persons sleeping in the living room in a brand new full size sofa bed.

Bon soir Sauveur, I am very sad. I miss Paris and your wonderful apartment. The four of us loved our apartment on Boutarel. The boulangerie, fromagery, crepery, glace, market, and atm were just steps away from the apartment. You provided all the cookware and dishes so that we were able to cook our own meals most of the time which saved us lots of $. It was nice to have two separate bedrooms and living room. There was plenty of space for all of us. We had lovely breezes off the Seine. I couldn't believe I could walk out of the apartment and there was Notre Dame. The view was breathtaking. Thank you for providing the internet access and long distance phone service. No one has ever given us such amenities. It truly felt like home. I hope to come back to your "City of Light" someday and would love to stay on Boutarel again. Thank Dominique for me. I appreciated his help so much! All the best, Lori W

Our family of 5 had a lovely "parisian" experience at the apartment. It was in a great location situated on a tiny street between the Seine and the main street of Ile St Louis (where there were some fantastic shops). The bakery around the corner was perfect for our morning pastries and the supermarket is less than 1 minute walk away (we even let the kids wander down there!). The apartment had everything we needed and it was wonderful to look out the window onto the river. It was an easy walk to either of the 2 metro stations close by. A very French experience which we recommend.

We stayed here with our two teenagers 13 and 15. The apartment was perfect - clean, great central location and quiet. It was great to go back to our own place after touring the city all day. The view was amazing! Also there were so many restaurants with in a block of the apartment. That was wonderful when the kids did not want to come out to eat with us one night and we just went around the block and had an amazing meal. There are so many shops around the corner too. We felt comfortable letting the kids walk around the block to explore our little neighborhood in Paris. We were on a 10 day trip seeing 3 countries so we were able to do a little bit of laundry here too.

Our family recently visited Paris and had the pleasure of staying at your apartment. We were warmly greeted by our host with a bottle of wine, fresh fruit and cold water in the fridge. After a day of travel in hot weather that was much appreciated. He took the time to orient us in terms of the local bakery, cheese shop and grocery store and was a pleasure to deal with. We were 5 in the apartment and although it is a bit smaller than we had gathered from the pictures, we fit in quite nicely with our son sleeping on the couch in the living room. What a pleasure to wake up each morning and have our two older children walk around the corner to pick up fresh croissants at the Boulangerie and a chunk of cheese from the Fromagerie. The location could not have been more perfect. As soon as we stepped out of the building we were right by the Seine with a view of Notre Dame de Paris. Just beautiful! We were thrilled with our stay and fell in love with Paris.

Saveur, Thanks for letting us rent your apartment. We have been to Paris many times and this was the best place we have stayed. I am guessing that the building is about 300 years old and as one would expect, it did not look like a Holiday Inn. It felt more like home. Old furniture, lots of books on the shelves, fresh cut flowers to greet us. What a step up from a characterless hotel. In the morning, my wife would make breakfast while I took the 5 minute stroll to the bakery for fresh Croissants. Nearby markets for unique cheeses, sausages, wines. Quiet comfortable bedrooms. Free telephone to call family in the US. For one week, I felt like a Parisian in my own apartment. Dominique was very helpful and friendly when we arrived. Everything was clean and worked. I could go on and one, but suffice it to say, I know where I will stay on my next visit. If you wish to refer potential renters for advice-don't hesitate to give my address. Great place ! A 17th century apartment on an island which feels like a village in the middle of Paris. Quiet, beautiful and a short walk to the tourist spots. The weather was just right, apartment was like home - very comforable! - and the city was incredible. Would go back any time! We visited couple of gardens with our son and took him to Le Bourget museum for his birthday, so he was very happy.The apartment was great, indeed. Location was the best - we will recommend it to all of our friends. Everything we needed was there and five of us were very comfortable there. My wife and I stayed here for a week from late April to early May 2008. When you first arrive you meet Paulo who shows you the ropes of the apartment, he is a good guy. The apartment is nicely furnished with all the amenities you need. The location however is just amazing. On Ile St louis and with a view of the Seine from one bedroom and from the living area!! We spent our days and nights relaxing and exploring the local areas. You can almost walk everywhere that you would want to go in the main parts of Paris. I highly recommend this apartment. In my book the greatest question to ask someone is "would you seriously go back to that place" The simple answer for us is Yes, we will definately stay here next time we are in Paris.

Dear Sauveur, At long last I just wanted to write to tell you what a great stay we had at your apartment on the Ile St. Louis in Paris. To refresh your memory, we rented the apartment from December 24 to December 31. It was a wonderful place to stay and exceeded my expectations. Paulo was great - very reliable, responsive and helpful, the apartment is very well equipped, the security at the apartment is very good, the computer/internet access was an unexpected bonus and as you know, the location is the very best in Paris. ... Also, I very much appreciated your professionalism and organization. The second week we were in France we rented from another owner in Normandy. All turned out fine, but there was just much less contact and responsiveness and I had a few doubts that all would turn out well. Thanks for your businesslike approach. Whenever we're in Paris (which hopefully will be often) I hope to stay with you again. It sounds as though you may have other apartments? If so, please advise how to access them. Hello Sauveur It's good to hear from you... Your apartment was great - I love the location. What's interesting is that Alon and I walked by it last year and I said that I'd like to stay on Ile St. Louis. The amenities were very good, except the initial problem w/ the tv, but the kids definitely compensated with the computer. We enjoyed having breakfast at home before we set we went out... Iliked the courtyard. Our room was very quiet. It was hard to believe that we were in a big city. I will definitely contact you when we go back to Paris, but we'll probably stay in the saint louis apt if it will just be Alon and me. Please send our regards to Paolo. Dear Sauveur,We had a wonderful time at your Boutarel apartment. Before we left, we tried to find the Livre d’Or so that we could add our comments to those of other guests, but we could not find it. The location can’t be beat—not just being across the Seine from Notre Dame, but also being only a few steps away from bakeries and restaurants with mouth watering treats and quaint shops. The accommodations were excellent. Every morning we brought back a baguette or pan au chocolat or freshly baked tartes and savored them in the dining room to start the day. The beds, towels and linens all contributed to making our stay relaxing after a full day of visiting Paris. Having the washer/dryer was an added bonus. My in-laws who stayed in the apartment with us were so impressed that they showed it off to relatives who live outside of Paris. Thank you for your note. We had a great time. The apartment was great. The neighborhood was great. Loved the grocery around the corner. Paulo did a great job of getting us settled in. VOIP call availability was great. Internet and wireless were great. The weather wasn't very nice, but we had a great time. Early Sunday evening my son and I went and threw a football for five minutes in the courtyard of Notre Dame, so now we tell people "We played football at Notre Dame". Corny american humor. Hello Sauveur, We are home safe and sound and happy! Your apartment was a delight! We enjoyed our stay very much. It is such a charming home and the location was superb for the Metro and shops. Dear Sauveur, Today is our last day in your lovely apartment. We have had just the most wonderful time - and have loved coming back to your wonderful neighborhood and charming apartment. Paulo was so kind and helpful. We have eaten all of our meals in your neighborhood - so good!!!!! This is such a nice area and the subway is great for getting everywhere.
