Estes Park apartment description
This unique, older property is a ground floor unit of a Swiss-style-chalet four-plex conveniently located on Peak to Peak Highway (Colorado Hwy 7). The three other units have year-round residents.
Less than 5 minutes to downtown Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, 2 golf courses, Mary’s Lake, Lake Estes, Twin Sisters and Long’s Peak trailheads.
Surrounded by almost 3 acres approximately 50 yards off of Hwy 7, it has plenty of parking for your boat, rv, etc. and lots of room for children to run and play. It is on a year round migratory elk path and it is not uncommon to have 100 or more elk bed down on the property.
The accommodations were remodeled in 2007 and include a large moss rock fireplace with woodstove, plush furniture and beds, and a large eat-in kitchen with plenty of seating and granite countertops. Leaving the front door you can access the bike/walking trail across the hwy and go to the golf course, downtown, or just enjoy taking in the scenery at the base of Twin Sisters Mountain.
Twin Sisters Chalet guests can also enjoy the 'elk show' at Kenos Llama Ranch and enjoy a local family of elk; Anna, Hanna, and Destiny as they do their tricks and make new friends.
Please note: Twin Sisters Chalet is a completely non-smoking property, inside and out. No pets. No loud parties. Quiet after 9 pm. Family friendly!

Twin Sisters Chalet is a treasure in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Estes Park, Colorado! I was welcomed by the owner with a thoughtful gift basket. This beautiful property is part of a fourplex in the hills above Estes. It is quiet, peaceful and in an absolutely gorgeous location. Elk roam about the property as if it were their own.
The large, open kitchen is fully stocked to meet all of your needs. Most of the lights in the house are equipped with dimmer switches, creating a warm atmosphere in every room. That chalet is tastefully decorated and extremely clean.
The property is a wonderful blend of antiques mixed with modern style and convenience. With a very rich history, this property was once a working restaurant and was later turned into condos which have been family owned since the 1970’s.
There is nothing like getting away from it all in the majesty of the Rocky Mountains. You are close to town as well as Rocky Mountain National Park.
If you are looking for a cozy, family style home for your vacation, then the Twin Sisters Chalet will be a perfect fit for you!

We have been vacationing annually in Estes Park for over 9 years now and have stayed in a variety of lodging. The Twin Sisters Chalet was - for the price, maybe the best we have experienced. We arrived very late after a long travel day and appreciated the juice, coffee, milk and some fruit left for us. A nice touch for those who didn't have time to stop on the way in. The chilled beer mugs in the freezer were another nice surprise. The unit itself is comfortable and has everything you need. It is one unit of four within a larger, older building - so the setup is a little bit unique. The kitchen has many new higher end smaller appliances. The bathrooms are basic but do what you need them to do. The three bedrooms have plenty of drawer and closet space. The king bed in the master is on the harder side, and all three queens in the other two bedrooms are softer. Unit has wi-fi and satellite flat screen TV, with a DVR as well. The washer and dryer are nice higher end models. The location is fantastic. It is perfectly located to miss all the traffic of downtown Estes, which can be a downright nightmare in summer months. Right on 7 hwy, you can drive away from town to reach Lily Lake, Twin Sisters and Longs Peaks trailheads in a matter of minutes. You can access the main Beaver Meadows entrance to RMNP via Mary's Lake Road, which also skirts the traffic of downtown. As mentioned in another review, the unit is on the highway, so there is some road noise. We didn't notice it after the first night. There are fans in each bedroom that you could use to cancel the traffic noise if you so choose. Being part of a 4 unit building, this may not be a good choice for a loud group who wants to stay up late and be loud. There are signs reminding you to keep the noise down after 9 pm. There are other signs as well with some instructions to make sure the property is kept up - which is understandable once you realize this is someone's private residence much of the year. If you typically treat a vacation rental as you would your own house, none of these instructions will bother you in the least. Would definitely stay here again.

This was a nice little home. Had everything we needed. Only thing that we didn't like is that half way through our stay we noticed that the storage door that said Owner's Storage stay out had another entrance (sliding glass door) from outside that someone had been coming and going because one day the storage door was unlocked and later that day was locked. The lock was on the other side of the door so that we had no way to keep people out of where we were staying but they could come in to where we were at anytime they pleased. The saftey and security was an issue for us as well as no smoke detectors. Kitchen floor was filthy so I had to sweep and mop when we arrived....we have a toddler who picks everything up off the floor. Other than those issues it was homey and close to town.

I guess when we booked this property a couple of years ago, we were not as familiar with the area. It is right on the highway and you can hear the traffic noises. The patio faced someone's travel trailer and trash cans and a parked pick up truck. Inside it was okay but the owner has left signs all around the place about not flushing the delicate old plumbing too much and how to load the dishwasher. I didn't get that much instruction when I lived in a college dorm. Perhaps it is changed but the pictures are the same. I would not stay here again.
