Enjoy the spacious back yard with plenty of lawn chairs for lounging after a dip in our 12x24 foot Pool of 5 feet in depth. Our newly installed pool was completed in June of 2011 just in time for summer! It is a half inground half above ground - the latest style.
We have a large patio in the back yard which is perfect for lounging.

You will find the home to be very clean and set up with many essentials for your stay. You will find Super fresh and clean linens and towels. An assortment of teas, coffee, sugar and many basics needed in any kitchen. The kitchen has all of the essential features and appliances including a nice drinks blender..
The house can be rented as the full 3/3 (3-Bedroom/3-Bath) or for smaller parties of 4 or less we offer the same home as a 2/2 (2-Bedroom/2-Bath) for a reduced price with the 3rd bedroom locked off.
Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The master bedroom has a Queen sized bed. The other two bedrooms each have 2 twin beds that we often join together with a mattress joiner to make a single king sized bed in either or both rooms. This way we can accomodate 3 couples easily or 2 adults and 4 children or several separate singles. It's all easily do-able with our bed configuration.
The Venetian bedroom is accessible from inside of the house as well as having a side door exterior entrance for privacy.
The home is recently re-decorated with new landscaping, including a beautiful Rock Garden in Front Yard, new solid bedroom doors for privacy and 2 newly re-decorated bathrooms.

The Sun Room at the rear of the house leads out onto the Patio via a sliding Glass Door. The Gorgeous Water Views can be seen from two of the three bedrooms, the Sun Room, the Patio and entire back yard. The water extends almost endlessly in front of you as we have no property behind us and no property directly across from our Dock, just a long, beautiful waterway.
Wildlife viewing is plentiful from right on the property. Sit on the dock and relax while watching the fish swimming and jumping out of the water, the turtles coming up for air, the crabs crawling in the water below the dock and the occasional iguana walking along the sea walls feeding on vegetation.
There are also exotic birds in the area viewable from the property. Watch the chatty parrots at the top of the mango tree, the pelicans standing on the seawall across from the dock swooping down for the occasional jumping fish.

A note about Guest Reviews: We have always maintained a professional attitude towards rentals and always felt as though we should not bother our guests with our own needs. Year Purchased: 1999
I am on the road often due to my job so I miss my Canal Front home when i'm out of town. No, i'm not a drummer, I just like that photo! I'm actually a computer consultant. I like the idea of other people enjoying the calming canal-view and proximity to the fun downtown and at the beaches. Some of my favorite things to do when i'm in town are: go out for a Kayak ride, go to the beach and surf or bodyboard, take the boat out on calm weather days. When i have guests visiting me, i love "wow"-ing then by taking them down the canal and to the riverfront. The pirate bar is always a fun place to pull the boat into and grab a bite or drink. There's just so much to do nearby that i'm never bored! I'm actually away right now as i write this and I do wish I could be there instead!
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
I grew up vacationing in Fort Lauderdale in the 1980's and decided I wanted to live here. This is my first home and will likely be my last as I plan to retire here. My Home is as lovely as it is relaxing.
The Unique Benefits of this House
When i'm home i spend hours sitting on the back patio, dock and sometimes the boat looking out on the water as i sip on a cool beverage or a hot morning coffee.
My concerns seem to melt away (for the moment) as I look down the waterway at the fish splashing, downtown fort lauderdale in the distance and the boats all along the canal. It feels like a true Oasis. It really does.

We had a great time. My son brought his boat and kept it at the dock for the week. We were either cooking out in the back yard or on the boat. Count us in for next year. Great value for the price. -Joe
