Surrounding small towns and cities are Boca Grande, Port Charlotte, and Fort Myers. To the north is Venice and Sarasota. All offer art and food festivals, movie theatres, and great restaurants. The Key West Express Ferry from Fort Myers Beach takes you to Key West in three-and-one-half hours for day or overnight trips. Sarasota airport is 40 minutes away.
