We had a great time. Went for a getaway, just my wife and I. Everything was great, Nolan was easy to work with. Hot tub was nice and relaxing, used the gas bbq. Oh and nicely fenced yard for our dog. Wi fi for computer was convenient and gas firplace made for a nice setting.. So close to everything, I was surprised.. Very good experience. Thank you Nolan

We very much enjoyed our South Lake Tahoe visit and would recommend this vacation rental for future visitors. We found this house to be very accommodating for our stay with all the conveniences of home and in a location that served us well. The back yard is well fenced, which was great for our Cocker Spaniel, nicely landscaped with a hot tub right outside the back door and a BBQ available for your use. Located just off Pioneer Trail road, you are just 5 minutes to the busy State Line area where shopping, restaurants and Casinos are located. We rated this as 4 stars and not 5 because in our opinion, a few optional upgrades would make this place a bit more contemporary. It must be noted that the property owner was very easy to deal with and always prompt to respond to any questions we had. We are already making plans for a return visit next year.

We enjoyed our stay in the vacation rental for our small family reunion of 7 people in August 2011. The accomodations were comfortable and clean with all the amenities one could ask for including a gas grill, hot tube, fully furnished kitchen, comfortable beds, cable TVs (each room), and DVD. The house is only a couple minutes drive to most locations in the South Lake Tahoe area. Great value compared to all of us staying in 3 hotel rooms.

This is the second time we've stayed here. The weather was just perfect, unlike our first stay. We spent a lot of time in the yard. It was nicely mowed and the hot tub felt great! Very relaxing. We barbequed a few times. Jack, our springer spaniel, just loved it. He got a little freaked out, though, on an evening walk when we ran into a bear going through a neighbor's garbage. He woofed but the bear just ignored him. (thank goodness). He lay by the window when he returned from his walk and growled the rest of the night. Refused to step outside to take care of business! Its great that Nolan's property has bear proof cans, because not everyone in Tahoe does. The house was neat and clean, the beds were comfortable, with lots of towels. Having a kitchen and coffee pot was a big advantage. The location is great because it seems like you're away from everything, but you are close to the Lake, groceries, restaurants, etc. Definitely, we'll go back. Nancy Bennett Oakland, CA

This place is a party house. Not to be confused with the nicer places to stay around town and there are plenty. I have stayed here 4 times and had a decent experience twice but the other two were nightmares. I will only stay here again if it were the only place to stay in town and it is not! I was promised a full refund on my last visit and was sent 50% of my money and not given a call or email explaining why. The house has blood stains in the living room on the ceiling in several places and on the carpet in front of the fireplace, what happened i don't want to know. The roof was leaking and the water heater stopped working and the hot tub was filled with sand and was foamy and smelly on our last visit. We also spent time replacing light bulbs, picking up dog waste from previous renters and had a pretty miserable time overall. Nolan had repair people coming by during our week stay, and promised a full refund after i also mentioned that the house also had a chemical cleaner smell that did not go away and that it gave my dog a severe allergic reaction with hives and sneezing, we almost left mid week to stay at the motel 8 to keep our dog from getting worse. The previous visit we got the wrong lock box code from Nolan and also walked in to find the kitchen faucet was spraying water everywhere when we tried to use it. Nolan did respond quickly and was nice but who needs a vacation like that, not me again that's for sure. Don't waste your money here, keep looking as there a ton of rentals in the SLT area. Thanks for nothing Nolan...... Happy Vacation House Hunting.....
Owner response:Good morning and thank you for taking your time to read my review. Quite simply, I did everything I could possible to please this former client other than grant him a full refund following his 4 night stay at my vacation home for the 4th time. Let me explain the scenario: at 10pm on Saturday evening, April 2nd, 2011 I received an e-mail from said client complaining about the water heater being out. I agree this is an urgent matter, so I awoke on the following Sunday, April 3rd, 2011 at 6:30am to urgently find a plumber to rectify the issue. Thus, I paid a local plumber double time, over $207.50 to fix the water heater on that Sunday to solve this problem. Coicidentally and unfortunately, there had been a spring storm that "unveiled" some dog excrement that was not caught by my professional cleaners.. I agreed that a 50% refund would be granted and the former client said "that would be fine." Thus after said client stayed at my vacation home for 4 nights for only $62.50 per night after giving hime a 50% refund, he posts this review over 4 months later?? I actually spent over $1750 replacing the water heater directly after his stay because I am so dedicated to making sure my clients are 100% satisfied, that I will go above and beyond to make sure of this. Good luck finding another vacation rental agency would wake-up on their day off, Sunday at 6:30am to rectify a water heater issue at that hour. In summary, I work extremely hard to make sure every client has a GREAT stay at my house and my hundreds of bookings and return clients per year if proof of this dedication...And one thing I have learned in this vacation rental business: "you can't please everybody" Thank goodness that only accounts for less than 1% of my clients. I'll take a 99% on a test any day of the week. Please mention this "manager response" in your inquiry and receive a complementary bottle of champagne upon check in" Enjoy our home in beautiful South Lake Tahoe. Kind regards, Dr. Nolan J. We had a fantastic stay at this house in may. It was very spacious and in a great location. The beds were comfy and the hot tub was a lovely place to relax underneath the stars. For the price, it was much much better than any hotel or motel. Lake tahoe was lovely, we caught the heavenly gndola up or lunch, and we had a chance to have a mountain bike ride and a couple of runs as well
Owner response:I really appreciate the positive review Nick; I am happy to accommodate. If you or any of your Auzzie friends or family ever plan to visit South Lake Tahoe again, I will be happy to give them a "deal they can't refuse." I figure it's always good to keep up foreign relations. Cheers! -Dr. Nolan

My family and I had such a great time here! We were so close to everything in South Lake- the beachs at Baldwin and Camp Richardson and then super close to the stateline where we enjoyed the Tahoe nightlife ; ) Also we loved all the local shopping nearby from the unique mom and pop shops to the factory outlets. All and all we had a great time at the cabin from using the hot tub to bbq'ing while playing bocce ball in the backyard...can't wait to come back and hopefully stay at this cabin again!

The house is on a quiet South Lake lane. The neighbors we met were friendly. The house is near Bijou Park which has a nice doggy park. The lake is a few minutes away and all of the shopping and conveniences you might want are also just a few blocks away. The environs are beautiful. There's off-street parking. The house is comfortable, but not opulent. The three bedrooms are small and the beds are big but you didn't come to South Lake Tahoe to hang out in the bedrooms, did you? The biggest, brightest bedroom has a bunk bed and would be perfect for three young kids. I think that room had a game console, but we didn't go to South Lake to play video games. There is a wi-fi router in the bedroom, so getting e-mail and web-surfing are easy. There is a cabinet full of cards and board games in the living room so you have things to do after dinner, provided you wouldn't rather watch TV, relax in the hot tub or go look at the stars. The gas fireplace is cozy and keeps things warm. Nolan has bear-proof trash cans. We didn't see any bears. We did see a rabbit grazing for breakfast in the back yard one morning. A Stellar Jay has made a nest in the picnic table umbrella. We didn't evict her. The kitchen has the essentials. Gas stove, two ovens, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, and I think I saw a couple of blenders. I guess there's one for lime margaritas and one for strawberry margaritas. There were lots of plates, glasses, bowls, flatware and basic utensils. Also several new skillets, a big pot, and plenty of baking sheets. If it's important to you that everything looks new, elegant, luxurious, and professionally-decorated, then you should spend several hundred dollars more, and book a couple of suites at Harrah's, and live it up. On the other hand, if you want to set up housekeeping in the forest; if you know how to camp, but don't feel like roughing it; if you can improvise and don't mind if the forks don't all match; if you travel with a dog, a bunch of kids, or four companions and you all want to get away together without blowing your budget; THIS IS THE P

I stayed here for a weekend in December 2007, and I had great time! Not only was it a good deal, but the place is warm and cozy. There’s a wonderful hot tub and a nice back yard if you choose to bring your dog. The fireplace was a nice asset as well and made the living area a great place to relax after a day in the snow. I plan on coming back here many more times in the future!
