We loved this house from the moment we drove up to it and it only got better. Great decor, beautiful back yard...just fantastic! Pool was great during the day and the hot tub was great at night. All the galleries, shops and restaurants were very close. The packet that we were sent had everything we needed in it and the suggestions for dining were spot on! Would definitely recommend this property to anyone staying in the area!

Had an amazing time and can't wait to visit again! We could not peel ourselves away from the lush back yard and pool. Marcel was very easy to deal with and was quick to assist with some pool-heating confusion. The very detailed instructions came in handy to answer any other questions. No hesitation in recommending it to anyone who wants to get away from it all...and yet, be only a few minutes from all that Palm Springs has to offer. Thanks!
Owner response:Happy to hear you had a great trip!

This house was outfitted with everything we needed for a memorable family vacation. Very comfortable, spacious, and the layout of the house brought us all together and within sight of each other. The outdoor patio was home for all of our meals, and opening the doors and windows allowed us to enjoy the magic of the desert winds even as we slept. We loved it. With much gratitude, The Huffmans

My wife and two young daughters (5 & 8) just spent a week at the house. Our time there could not have been nicer. The house itself is clean, elegant (with a laid-back, modern sensibility), comfortable, and very "liveable". Lots of windows and sliding doors, so very light and airy and open. The property itself is fantastic - terrific little pool, mature palm trees and flowers all over, a nice hot tub, lawn, extended patio, fire pits, grill. And with the 3rd bedroom, Grandma as able to spend time there as well. Palm Springs itself is a great town with much to do. Hiking in Indian Canyons, great restaurant choices, Thursday night street fair downtown, nice shopping, and for the kids lots of adventures too - Living Desert Zoo, Children's Museum, mini-golf, and of course hours of swimming and a park with playgrounds a block away. And don't miss the Tram - expensive but spectacular. Shorter or longer hikes in the surrounding parklands are memorable. Highly recommended, we'll be returning.
Owner response:Glad you enjoyed it!

We found the Modern Alexander to be really comfortable--exactly as presented on the web site. The home is in a very pleasing neighborhood. We're huge fans of "Alexanders" and it was such a thrill to see a whole neighborhood filled with these magnificent homes! We were there during the hottest month of the year and were very comfortable in the house. The pool and hot tub are a delight--and we were delighted that the yard was so very private. The yard is beautifully cared for and much larger than I expected. We like to cook and found the kitchen very functional. We'll definitely come back to this property on our next Palm Springs adventure!
Owner response:Glad you enjoyed it. We do too!

We loved staying here! I wanted to move in permanently. The house is casual but elegant. Cool contemporary art, great mid-century furniture, smooth concrete floors and a chic grey 70's fireplace in the master bedroom (loved it!) awesome outdoor areas...loved the lava rock firepits and covered patio. I love the Parker and Ace but didn't really ever want to leave the house! -Jody , LA, CA (blackwagondesign@gmail.com)

We spent a long weekend in this property over Presidents Day weekend this year (2010) and had never really gone the Vacation Rental route before, so were a little skeptical. It turned out great. The property was all it was described to be, and more. It was spacious and clean, very well equipped, and the sleeping accommodations were excellent. My family was really happy that I did the homework to uncover this option. (The alternative would have been all separate hotel rooms. The description didn't mention that the sofa in the living room was comfortable for sleeping, and in fact worked out really well for an unexpected guest. It's a quiet neighborhood, although it's fairly easy to hear others in the living room when you're napping in one of the bedrooms. The jacuzzi and pool were clean and nice, and the common area - kitchen and living room - we're great for socializing and hanging out. The outdoor area was nice too, with a huge backyard (the property is at the end of a cul de sac.) Management returned our full damage deposit very promptly, within just a couple days, which we appreciated. We would stay there again, absolutely!

A++++ We absolutely loved this place! The house was gorgeous, well decorated, and well maintained. The owner was very organized and provided us with all the info we needed in a timely manner, and even provided restaurant and entertainment recommendations. We also brought our dogs along and they had a great time in the large yard. Would definitely go back!

This place was perfect for our group of Six. The house is completely stocked yet not cluttered like a lot of rentals and has a very airy resort feel. Beautifully furnished. Great lighting inside and out for a perfect evening ambiance by the pool for our evening rafts and coctails or firepit. Kitchen is generously stocked for cooking. Best price we found for similar houses. The owner was extremely nice and helpful. There are detailed instructions for everything you could possibly need. Our deposit was returned within 3 days after our stay!! $15 cab ride to an amazing mexican food restaurant where the locals go. $8 20oz Margaritas! Overall a great experience. We will be back!! :)

super relaxing. As a frequent Palm Springs weekender, we've tried many places, so this house was a real find. What we like: Open, airy, bright. Not filled with homeowner's personal stuff you find at so many others. Nice modern touches and some cool antiques. Whole place is clean, simple, comfy. Also, nice covered patio section with table and chairs right off the kitchen, facing the pool. When it gets too hot, and in the summer it sure does, this is the perfect way to stay outdoors. We still like the boutique hotels too, but frankly the price can't be matched, and it seems like the owners were influenced by them anyway. If you come out and stay in PS often, you'll know what we mean. One of our top two choices!

My husband and I stayed a weekend here with our toddler and dog. Everybody loved it. Spacious, bright, and comfortable. The pool is large and the yard is huge! It is very private. Owner gave full instructions for everything from the air conditioning down to the remote controls. There is even a list of entertainment/restaurants in town. The price was perfectly clear, the transaction easy, and my deposit returned quickly. Marcel was also very pleasant to deal with. I have already recommended this house to many clients and friends. We will be back!

This is the second time we have stayed at this house. It is a perfect place to relax by the pool in the beautiful back yard. The dog loves it too! The description of the house is very accurate, the owners have always been extremely helpful and accommodating. They have the best house info we have ever seen from restaurant recommendations to how to use the TV. Our deposit has been promptly returned (unlike other rentals where they wait a full 30 days). The location is perfect for dining, shopping, golfing--everything is just a few minutes away. The kitchen is stocked very well if you like to cook. There is also a great grill as well.

As a frequent Palm Springs weekender, we've tried many places, so this house was a real find. What we like: Open, airy, bright. Not filled with homeowner's personal stuff you find at so many others. But, like some of the smaller boutique hotels we like, all the basics but with nice modern touches and some cool antiques. Loved the kitchen, and the master shower especially. Bathrooms, clean, simple, also airy. One other nice thing about this home is the extra outdoor covered patio section with table and chairs, right off the kitchen, but facing the pool. When it gets too hot, this is the perfect way to stay outdoors! Best of all, and why we keep renting and not going back to the boutiques, is the total privacy, and of course the price, which can't be matched. One of our top two choices!

We stayed at this property in February of 2009 for a week. First off, the owner could not have been more responsive and complete in the information he gave to us. He sent a PDF file with all the details, and our arrival was seamless, and everything was exactly as described. The photographs on homeaway.com are good, but the property looks even better when you get there. Most of the walls are floor to ceiling glass, and the space is very open. The pool is classic, and the heater works perfectly and quickly. There's a lovely lemon tree in the back of the house, and we actually picked a few lemons and made fresh lemonade. The beds are very comfortable, and the double shower is very nice--the kitchen is colorful, and contains everything you will need to cook with. Even the guy who comes to clean the pool is friendly. There's also a battered old croquet set that reminded me of my childhood, because it looked just like the set my brother and I played with on every summer day when I was a kid. It was great to play croquet again. What else...the gas firepit was nice for getting warm after swimming at night. You can see many stars. The mountain view from the back yard is stunning. There are many, many clean towels. The TV is nice, though if you are not an electrical engineer you will have to follow the instructions carefully to use the remotes. It was just a great, well-equipped house--obviously maintained by people who are concerned that their guests have everything they need. We will absolutely go back next year (or sooner).

If you're looking for a quick getaway or a longer stay in Palm Springs, this is a true find. The price is right, the location convenient, and the home is fantastic--clean and well-maintained. We spent 9 days here and found it difficult to get ourselves out of the heated pool ($20 extra/day--a steal compared to other properties we looked at). The home is conveniently located to downtown palm springs, the Tram, the grocery store, and a quick jaunt from the airport (note, there is some intermittent plane noise throughout the day, but it subsides fairly early in the evening). The home is a great example of mid-Century architecture, and the owners have respected the aesthetic--rooms are minimally furnished with period furnishings, but are comfortable, and the house is sizable enough for 4 to 6 people. The kitchen is well-stocked with blender, toaster, sharp knives, utensils, etc. The yard is large, private and well-landscaped. Several fire pits dot the yard--2 gas, and 1 wood burning. The hot tub is awesome and has a great view of the mountains. The owners were very responsive to any of our pre-vacation correspondence and provided us a nice document prior to arrival explaining how everything worked as well as information about the area (where to eat, what to do, etc.). I highly recommend this property.

My husband and I rented this property in February 2008 for our honeymoon and it was perfect! Everything was even more beautiful than expected. The house was beautifully maintained as was the outside of the property and the area was very quiet and peaceful. You will need a car to get to downtown Palm Springs or any attractions, but everything was easy to get to and no more than a 5-10 minute drive. Best of all, one of the owners, Marcel, was incredibly helpful. He responded to all e-mails in a timely manner and sent a very helpful booklet prior to our arrival with all of the information we would need for the house as well as some great restaurant and attraction recommendations. We also had a small problem with working the AC system once we arrived and he called us back in 5 minutes and walked us through working it. Overall, my husband and I recommend this property and would love to come back and visit again soon!
