Nestled in the trees on the top of Ski Slope, our log home offers privacy and elegance. Designed to evoke the feel of your own private lodge, each log was lovingly hand picked in Montana. A large bank of windows brings the outdoors in no matter the season. The spacious great room with its stone fireplace is the perfect spot to track winter snowdrifts or watch deer and bear and forest birds.
Two professional bakers designed the kitchen. With a prep and kitchen sink, Viking range and indoor grill, it is easy to prepare an intimate dinner for two or a family Thanksgiving feast. The spacious open floor plan easily meets the needs of a busy family.
Designed for ease of living, there are three bedrooms: a bedroom (full-size bed) on the main floor for those who prefer not to use stairs. Upstairs are the master bedroom (queen-size bed)and 3rd bedroom (full-size bed). The loft, with two twin-size daybeds, provides perfect away space for reading or watching a movie. A mudroom minimizes after ski hassles, and forced air heating warms the house quickly - there is a lovely woodburning fireplace to further enhance the lodge-feeling.
Just 20-30 minutes away are the world class downhill and cross country ski resorts of Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, and Royal Gorge to name just a few. Minutes away, the Tahoe Donner ski hill, cross country course, fitness center, heated outdoor pool, and spa facilities provide endless terrific family fun. Of course, in summer you'll find golf courses, spectacular hiking, biking, access to the Donner Lake Private Beach with all its water activities, great rock climbing and much more.
No shortage of things to do to be sure. But if what you want to do is to do nothing at all, then we invite you to our home. Its tranquil beauty is guaranteed to hold you captive making it difficult to ever think of leaving!
On a final note, this home was a labor of love. We trust that those who rent it will keep this in mind and will treat it well. It sleeps six to eight people comfortably. It is not a home for large parties or groups.

What a beautiful house and location! We thouroughly enjoyed hanging out in the house, hiking from the Glacier Trailhead, watching the deer and the chipmonks, playing at the Donner Lake Beach, climbing on the Trout Rec Playground, eating out on the Lodge patio obove the golf course, and enjoying Lake Tahoe from the Sunnyside patio and beach. Great fried zuchini & burgers there also! We will look forward to a future visit!

Historical kayak tour on Donner Lake was great. Eric was a super guide. Archery range was fun with the kids. Otherwise we spent enjoyable days at the Lake and the pools with a morning horseback ride tossed in. A wonderful week!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. The kids loved using the perfect snowballers to have a snowball fight in June! Everything was very comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The Monet Irises puzzle was beyond our collective skill level. Today is Marty's 52nd birthday, and this was a lovely way to celebrate. Thank you, from all of us!

What an absolutely stunnig home! The sunrise out the master bedroom is a sight not to be missed (plus it helped get us up in the morning for skiing). Tips for future renters... don't bother getting up extra early to be the first on the slopes. The Sierra Cement (crusty snow) isn't much fun to ski on. Do what the locals do and wait for the sun to soften the snow/ice in late morning/early afternoon. Another tip... Squaw may be expansive + famous, but we adored the slopes of Northstar. The black diamond runs are really intermediate and nice long runs. The best part of the day is returning "home" to Woutje's house and relaxing by the fire! Enjoy!!
