Several friends of mine and I rented this property so we could run in the St. Jude Memphis Marathon. I can't think of ONE thing that the place lacked. It had all amenities we needed, was in a great location, was SUPER CLEAN and just plain gorgeous. Quiet neighborhood, safe parking. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A relaxing house on Mud Island

We had a delightful week in this lovely house on Mud Island in November 2011. The photos and description of the house don't really give the sense space you get in this extremely well appointed and comfortable house. We had everything we needed and the house was immaculate. The neighbourhood is safe and quiet and we just loved wandering the streets of this beautiful community. We found the neighbours to be extremely friendly and welcoming. We always walked over the bridge to Main Street and caught the funny old 1900s trollies to the attractions down Main Street, of which there are many. Naajee was very helpful and responsive. We would definitely recommend this house to our friends and relatives.

We have had some awesome guests stay at this home. The housekeeper is beside herself when guests leave the place in such good order. In the time that this home has been rented there has been only one big scare. That was when a little league team checked in for a week. We were not informed of this until they arrived. We let them stay with our hearts in our mouths for the entire week. Much to our dismay they left the place in better shape than some adults and even tipped the housekeeper exactly $1.75. Okay, you can stop laughing now.

We recently stayed here with a total of 6 people, and the accommodations worked out fine. The location was great and the house was very clean. The only drawback was that if our group wanted to watch tv or a movie, the only tv's were located in the bedroom/sleeping areas. There also was no dvd player to watch videos. Otherwise, it was a great stay!

We loved staying on Mud Island

We spent 3 days on Mud Island. This home was in a great location. Less than 5 miles from Beale Street and the neighborhood is very safe! We loved walking along the river on a sunny day. Mud Island also has a great coffee shop (great food). This is a great location for individuals who want to experience Memphis. The townhome was furnished with everything you could possibly need.

Perfect Rental in Memphis!!

The pictures show the home as beautiful....but to see this home in person is even MORE amazing! We recently spent several nights in Memphis to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and vow renewal and two other couples joined us to share the rental home. There was more than enough space for all of us to sleep comfortably, and even an extra couch or two left over! The house was immaculate, quiet, and the kitchen was stocked with all the cooking supplies, seasonings, dishware and even the all important garbage bags, ziplocs and cleaning products! It was literally like house sitting for a good friend! We could not have been happier with the location, and were of course grateful that Naajee took the time to contact us upon our arrival to make sure that everything was up to our satisfaction. We will definitely refer friends and family to this rental, and next time we visit Memphis you can guarantee we will stay here again! Oh, and we highly recommend checking out Flight Restaurant...food and drinks were AMAZING as well! Thank you for helping us make our 10 year event such a spectacular occasion.

Wow - it was such a fantastic home - everything was perfect - lots of room for everyone (we travelled with 2 adults and 2 teenagers) - the most beautiful area - the local store and restuarant were great - the walk along the Mighty Mississippi at sunset just has to be done. Very handy location close by the City really easy to get to everything. We had a car and parking wasn't a problem around town. Najee phoned twice to make sure everything was ok - just a really nice touch. Definately recommend - by far the best VRBO home I have ever stayed in. Thank you so much.

Great visit in Memphis at a Great Home on MudIsland

We had a great time and we were very pleasantly surprised not just by the home and decor but also by the neighborhood. The beautiful home gave the weekend that extra special touch. The home was better than the pictures. The 8 females in the house appreciated the wonderful supply of towels but it was nice to have the washer and dryer too. I will definitely recommend the townhouse to friends. I also appreciate the service provided to us by Naajee when we were planning the trip. Everything was made so easy for us. I also appreciated you checking in with us after we arrived to make sure everything was acceptable. If I plan another trip to Memphis I will defintely be in contact.

I have used VRBO many times, but this place was amazing. I could not believe how spotless, comfortable, quaint and homey it was. It will be the only place we rent for our annual convention. Other reviews were right when they said the pictures don't do it justice. This is a very elegant property, well decorated and in the loveliest neighborhood in Memphis. However any renter should know this is not a true three bedroom home. The third "bedroom" is actually a futon in the den right off the kitchen, so no light sleepers, as each trip to the kitchen or anyone wanting to watch a midnight movie will keep you up. Otherwise, its beautiful! Take a walk or have a cocktail party! It's ideal for entertaining and the location is premium! Downtown in seconds!

Owner response:The den was actually a bedroom turned into a den and has always been listed as a den/bedroom on all our web sites. It has a full bathroom attached as do the other two bedrooms. The Japanese futon, I am told, is actually quite comfey. The person(s) who gets this room also has quick access to the entire first floor (kitchen, living and dining rooms and den/BR) like a suite. So it all depends on how you see it and what the combination of guests is. Hope this helps those who are considering staying at this home. We go the extra mile. Naajee, Rental Agent

What a fantastic home! We stayed three days and wished we could stay longer. Like stayng in your best friend's home when they are away - so homey and comfortable. EVERY convenience and right in downtown, close to everything. Best rental we have EVER had and looking forward to returning. You MUST stay here if you come to Memphis.

Wow! For our Girlfriend's getaway, this house was amazing. The pictures do no justice for how well and exquisite this Mud Island home is kept. We had a great time and this location was so convenient to all the downtown sites we enjoyed.

My husband and I rented this property with two other couples. We were worried about the size based on the pictures, but the house was a lot bigger then we thought - and much nicer! It is in a very safe, upscale neighborhood. The house was very clean and we were very happy with the newly rentivated bathrooms and kitchen. I would definitally come back and recommend this propterty to others! It's only a $10-15 cab ride to downtown Memphis - which was perfect!

Great location, well maintained, felt-like-home with ample living space for our family. The park (2 miles in length) is located just across the street, adjacent to the Mississippi River. Very quite and safe enviroment embedded in an upper middle class neighborhood on Mud Island. Believe you will want to return as we will do in our future travels.

My sisters and I meet once a year (We all live in different parts of the country) for a girls weekend. This was our third experience with HomeAway. The Memphis home was best home yet. The house was beautiful, well maintained and filled with extraordinary art. It was located minutes away from everything in a quiet neighborhood. We would definately recommend this home to everyone.

This house was perfect for our stay in Memphis the week of our daughter's wedding.It is nicely furnished and maintained. Very well stocked - there was nothing we needed that was not in the home. Fantastic location, quiet and spacious. I would never stay in a downtown hotel in Memphis again after finding this home!!!!

Great Place to Stay in a Great Neighborhood. Better then any hotel experience I have ever had. We enjoyed having plenty of places to sit down and relax. The place was clean and decorated very well. The convertible bed was comfortable. We took a cab to Beale St. several time for 13.00 to 15.00 We will stay here again!

I was reluctant to prepay for an online rental sight unseen. My son and wife previewed the property and said that it was very nice. They were right and we were very pleased with our stay. The accommodations for six is stretching it a little, my opinion. Two bedrooms up stairs each with its own bathroom and shower, one futon down stairs in the TV room with 1 full bath room and shower down. It worked, our three grown twenty something daughters shared the king, wife and I the double, and two teenage boys downstairs floor & futon.We would do it all over again, it was a positive experience.

Owner response:The home is ideal for three couples but this family made it work for them. The living room sofa is also a comfey place to stretch out on. All furnishings, door knobs beds, covers and linen and more are sanitized between each guests. We want our guests to know that we go overboard to keep the place clean. We do unto others...

We stayed in this home for Spring break 2007 with our three children. It is located within sight of the banks of the Mississippi river and convenient to all of Memphis. Quiet, upscale neighborhood. Comfortable beds, designer furniture, no expense spared with decor. Garage with opener. We use rental homes almost extensively for our vacations and this one could rate #1. Very nice. No disappointments, no risk here.

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful house when we got married in Memphis in October 2006. The house is just perfect in every way, It needs to be seen to be believed. We have told all our friends, we can't wait to back for anniversary's. We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else while in Memphis.
