Great apartment in the world's most beautiful city

My husband and I have visited Venice several times and have stayed in some very nice B&Bs and apartments, but this one is the best of all. The apartment is spacious and bright, with 5 large windows. Looking out the bedroom as the full moon rose above the old Arsenale wall, right across the canal from our apartment, was magical. Also, looking out a different window, I watched the sunrise as small boats motored across the lagoon in the quiet of early morning. We shopped at the Coop near the hospital, then walked "home" to prepare evening meals. At night, the neighborhood was quiet and we slept soundly on a comfortable bed. We hung laundry on the clothesline, high above the canal. At sunset, we would have a glass of wine at a restaurant built on a pier along the Fondamenta Nuova, near our apartment, watching a parade of boats motor past...with a view of Murano in the background. And lest I forget one of most important things: the apartment had windows with pull down screens and 2 large portable fans (It was still hot in September). Cristina, the owner, was friendly and also thorough in her explanation of how the various appliances worked, etc. We highly recommend this apartment.

A Fantastic Place to Stay in Venice

My wife and I stayed in this apartment for four nights in early October 2011. The apartment was exactly as Cristina had described it. It was really comfortable for two people, and it would have worked well for four people too. Everything was nearly new, spotlessly clean, and worked beautifully. There was a wonderful view of the lagoon and looking out on it every morning and evening was a great way to start and end each day. It is in a real residential neighborhood where average Venetian families live. We walked to everything we wanted to see in central Venice within 15 or 20 minutes every day, and within less than ten minutes we found lots of real neighborhood stores where we could buy anything we wanted for meals we ate in the apartment. Cristina met us at the vaporetto stop (Celestia) right in front of the apartment when we arrived, and showed us through the apartment and gave us a thorough explanation of how everything worked. She had even stocked the kitchen with things for a welcoming breakfast or evening snack. Cristina is one of the nicest, kindest, most helpful apartment owners we've ever encountered. For example, she apologetically told us that a vaporetto strike was expected for the day we were scheduled to leave, and that it might be impossible to get public transportation back to the railroad station. She volunteered to check on the status of the strike periodically and to arrange a water taxi that she knew about and trusted should we need it. On the day we left Cristina arrived promptly on time, accompanied by her husband, for us to return the keys and for her to return our security deposit. Her husband helped us get our things down to the vaporetto stop and then stayed with us to be sure that the vaporetto we needed was really not going to come and to be sure that the water taxi did. He even helped us get our things onto the water taxi. It was a wonderful thing for him to do. I would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Venice who is willing to walk just a little bit more than you would if you stayed in the horribly crowded, touristy areas around St Mark's square. You will love the apartment and you will love Cristina.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and wish it could have been much longer! The apartment was spotless and well equipped. Cristina had thought of everything we might need. She also provided some breakfast items which was great, since the grocery stores had already closed by the time we arrived on Sunday afternoon. She gave a detailed orientation regarding the apartment and neighborhood. The view was wonderful and we could see the mountains in the distance. Having the water taxi stop right outside the door was very convenient and the location of the apartment was close enough to walk to several attractions. If we ever get back to Venice, we will definitely stay here! Thank you, Cristina, for making this one of our favorite places in Italy!

We had a great experience staying in this apartment in Venice. The apartment is one of the cleanest I have ever stayed. I love the fact that it's just right next to a water bus stop. Very convenient. The apartment has everything you need and it is safe. The great view from the window makes a perfect vacation feeling. The hostess was very nice. She explained everything and provided great information. I will stay here again if go back to Venice.

Perfect quiet spot in Venice

My husband and I recently stayed there with our four year old son and found it to be well quipped, clean, airy, and close to everything. We were in Venice for two weeks and found it quite easy to walk everywhere from this condo with our son, who also walked. The hostess, Cristina was lovely and had tons of tourist information for us and some basic food essentials for us, which was greatly appreciated since we arrived on a Sunday with a child. The condo is a perfect spot for a vacation since you are just a few feet from the vaporetto stop, have beautiful views of the water, can easily walk everywhere, and you are in a quiet neighborhood rather than the overcrowded tourist areas. We would highly recommend this location for other families or couples traveling to Venice.
Owner response:Thanks for your beautiful words I am happy for you and your family was a nice holiday I am happy to have hosted a wonderful family like yours compliments for your beautiful and polite and sweet child I hope to see you soon and welcoming you again in Venice thanks

A beautiful experience. I'm not sure of another way to sum it up. The apartment was flawlessly located, with a wonderful view of the lagoon (and the opportunity to start every day with a clear view of the lagoon's daily mood swings) and in an isolated corner of Venice where only locals live. Local markets provide plenty of opportunities for authentic provisions and experiences. The major sites are all still a reasonable and inspiring walk away. The apartment itself is cozy, and we settled into our home immediately. And, above all Cristina is an amazing and concerned host. Complaints for this listing? Only that i had not booked it longer! I'm adding Cristina to my contacts because I'm sure I'll be back next year.

I stayed in Cristina's apartment for 3 nights with my sister and mother on a girls holiday and we were very happy with our choice. Cristina is a lovely lady who was very helpful. The apartment was very clean and in a great location. Cristina had generously stocked it with some provisions (e.g. breakfast buns) which were not expected but very welcome. There is a good supermarket one stop away on the vaporetto (which stops right outside the apartment). I will definitely be back to Venice with my husband and wouldn't stay anywhere else but here.

I was worried because Cristina asked for only a moneygram or Western Union deposit and couldn't take Paypal, but I needn't have been. She greeted us at the appointed time and provided us with breakfast food, maps, books, suggestions and a VERY clean apartment. My boys and I loved the place. It was convenient to walk to San Marco Square and the vaporetto stop was just outside the door. We soon found ourselves comfortable in the quiet neighborhood and were close to a great little market and delightful little restaurants. I can't imagine looking anywhere else for a better price. If you wish to stay up for the night life, be prepared for people leaving for work by 7:00 and hearing the day begin. Cristina is warm, anxious to make your stay comfortable and lives in Venice, so is able to attend to anything which may be amiss. Don't hesitate with this one...even the next door neighbor is friendly!
