Escape for a 2 day stay, week or a month in this darling lake front cottage located on historic Timberlake.
Take note of the specifics:
The cottage is named "The Keebler" because it looks like Elves should live there. In addition to the 3 bedrooms the partially finished walk out basement contains two twin beds, one double bed and a day bed. Perfect play area for kids or great teen room. The setting is enchanting. Pure serenity while you gaze at the water from the home, patio, or dock. Great Fishing and Swimming!!!
Towels & Linens are not provided. You need to bring your own.
Swimming: Dock provided for direct access for swimming. No Diving!!!
Watercraft Provided: Canoe and Paddleboat, adult and child's life jackets provided. Use of watercraft is at the risk of the renter. Owner assumes no responsibility or liability for accidents or injury as a result of use. Release forms must be signed by renter prior to use of boats.
Fishing: This is a private lake so no fishing licenses are required. Lake is stocked with plenty of fish.
Entertaining: The cottage has a large patio & dock for gathering with friends or just to sit and enjoy the view.
Sight Seeing: If you like history, visit the D-Day Memorial, Point of Honor, Poplar Forest - the summer estate of Thomas Jefferson, Appomatox, Peaks of Otter, Discovery Park and for a day trip, visit the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. Smith Mountain Lake is only 40 minutes away. Washington DC is only 3 1/2 hours away.
Special Notes:
1. This lake only allows battery or solar powered motors, no gas motors please...did I say serene?
2. Dining Space: The Dining room table seats six people, a second table downstairs also seats six people and a patio table outside seats 6 people.
3. *Deposit Information: Please Read Thoroughly*
Security deposit is equal to 1/2 of the rental amount or $500 which ever is least.
Entire security deposit, and 1/2 of rental fee is required to secure the dates requested. Deposit is required within 48 hours of confirming rental dates. Full rental fee is required no later than 45 days prior to requested rental dates. Unless otherwise agreed upon by owner and renter, if full rental fee has not been paid 45 days prior to rental date, owner may keep all deposit money, and cancel rental date. Please call if you have circumstances which will delay full payment.
Important! Cash security deposit will be remitted by company check within 14 days of departure date if there are no damages. Credit Card Refunds are remitted within 14 days. The amount of time for financial establishments to make the credit varies so please check with your bank if the refund does not show on your card within 14 business days.
IMPORTANT!
Upon Rental Request, the renter will receive an invoice enabling them to pay by credit card through Paypal a secure third party on line service.
4. Access to Liberty University: The house is less than 5 minutes from the highway 460 access. Highway 460 runs directly to the campus. Door to door, the distance is 10 minutes from the cottage to the campus.
5. Access to other colleges in the area, ask me. I will gladly assist. I do have friends who own furnished rental properties around town. I will gladly refer you to them if we are already booked.
6. CANCELLATION: ALL CANCELLATIONS MUST BE IN WRITING. CANCELLATION MUST BE RECEIVED 45 DAYS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL OR ALL MONIES PAID ARE FORFEIT.

The Unique Benefits of this House
I love boating and fun on the lake and this home is only 5 minutes from all the services. The lake is stocked for fishing and swimming is great! I provide a canoe and paddle Boat for your enjoyment. The quaint cozy waterfront cottage is where families make memories. I named the cottage The Keebler because it looks like Elves shoud live there. You will find all the comforts of home, more so than your average rental because when it is not rented I live here.
