This home is a beautiful, quaint two bedroom home with spectacular views directly on 3 Mile Bay in township of Chaumont
(pronounced 'Sha Moe') which is a 15 minute ride to Clayton New York - Home of the Antique Wooden Boat Museum. One of our most fun and unique features is a Separate Bunkhouse for the Kids ( or Adults!)
Enjoy your own private dock and enjoy the views from your own large and private porch. If you like, bring your boat, put it at the dock and spend the week boating - not launching your boat in and out every day. Come enjoy the World Class Salmon and Walleye fishing the Chaumont / Clayton Area is famous for!! If you would like some nightlife and fun - Alexandria Bay is loads of fun with great eateries, stores and night spots.
Do you like Antiques? Numerous antique stores and shops abound in the local area and Clayton is the home of the United States Antique Wooden Boat Museum. Each year there is a week where Antique Boat Owners gather together and show off their beauties - Come and enjoy the nautical past of our United States!! Book Early!!
For your pleasure we have installed new Cable TV, Two New TV's and phone service to make your stay as pleasant and stress free as possible. We have central heat, which uses the Monitor System for trouble free comfort.
Our separate Bunkhouse is a small, neat way for the parents to get a little time away or for the kids to play and sleep in. Kids can use their imagination and make the bunkhouse headquarters for Captain Hook and Company. Our pretend that have their own castle they rule instead of the parents!!!
Our home has all new furniture, linens, and accessories ---- We provide all the sheets, bedding and towels.
We have included everything you will need to have a glorious vacation - if we missed something, our office is minutes away, and we will try to meet your needs if something has been overlooked.
Questions we have been asked:
1)What are the rental periods?
We rent this property from Saturday to Saturday almost exclusively - if for some reason we deviate from that policy it will be for a very unusual reason so ask if you have a real need. Please call us if you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy. We are looking for people that will enjoy this home and come back year after year.
2) Are you on the Water?
Yes , Virginia, the water is real - You will have your own private dock where you can fish or place your own boat. Our picture shows the view from the deck to the waterfront and the beginning of the dock. FYI, The dock is very long (new in 2007) and you can go fishing and swimming at the end of the dock. Yes - there is a ladder at the end of the dock for swimmers!! (The picture does not show the length of the dock unfortunately.)
3) How close is the Private Dock from the home?
Our Dock is less than a 50 foot walk from the back of the house.
4) How big is the dock?
Dock will handle boats up to 23 foot, you might get a larger boat in, if the draft is reasonable. The Actual draft available can vary based on the Ontario lake level - normally it is 3 1/2 feet to 5 feet of available water. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee absolute depth as the water level changes with the weather. The dock is 185 feet long.
5) Where can we put our boat trailer?
You may store your trailer in the driveway or, if needed, you may put it on the grass next to the Garage. (we have over three acres).
6) Can I get more pictures? Absolutely! Just ask and we will send you a link to more pictures!!
7)Where is 3 Mile Bay? Go to GOOGLE Earth, use the zip code 13693 and you can see satellite pictures of 3 Mile Bay, Chaumont Bay and Lake Ontario- FUN!!!
8) There is a cleaning deposit of $150..00 which is refundable if you return the property to us in the condition we gave it to you. We will mail you your deposit after your rental. Pet deposit for each pet is $200.. non-refundable
To have a wonderful stay you really need only bring yourself, your clothes and a plan to relax and have fun!

Our family has enjoyed several vacations here at Winter's Run. Fishing is A+, being able to keep the boat at the dock was incredible! Dining Out is awesome, Dinners in were wonderful. The Dock is a quite escape. A Real Home away from Home. The Willow Tree out back was special place for Lilly to pretend in a magical wonderland. Great place for a photo op too! Even if the weather isn't the best there are so many things to do and see in the area. Leaving is the hardest thing!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

We rented this property in June while my husband was home on leave and had a fantastic time! The fishing was great right off the dock, though we still spent lots of time out on the boat. My brother-in-law even caught a 4.5 lbs large mouth right off the end of the dock! I read 3 books that week and the kids loved their willow tree "fort." The local neighbors were very friendly as was the property owner. Definitely worth a do-over!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

This will be my third year renting with Daryl, they are great people and have a beautiful cottage. We went through 750 worms last year the fishing is the greatest. I am able to keep my boat right at the dock they have. My 12 year old daughter caught a 6lb large mouth bass off the dock we also have caught many pike, small mouth and pan fish as well.. We have had great memories made at this cottage and will continue to come back every year. The kids never are bored and sleep great at night with all the fresh thousands island air. Great place to sit back and relax. We have also cooked up many feasts outside on the barb and with the great kitchen in the cottage would recommend it highly thanks again Darly and we will see you again in July jimRecommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Love 3 Mile Bay and this location was great. Swimming, grilling and bonfires were made easy by the owners. Trying to find time to get back there again this year!Recommended for: Families with young children.
