BEAUTIFUL CABIN!!!

Our family stayed in the Smokey Mountain Lodge in Gatlinburg last week--What a BEAUTIFUL CABIN!! We had 14 adults--11 from Iowa and 3 from Florida--this cabin worked fabulous for our family of 7 siblings, spouses, and our mother. I loved the idea of all staying under the same roof verses staying in individual rooms in a hotel. Each of us 6 siblings took a night to prepare supper for everyone. We ate like KINGS!!! We had adequate seating for all and the grill was very big so we could cook enough for everyone at the same time. The kitchen had most everything we needed to make supper and even bake dessert!! The men enjoyed the pool table in the basement--they called it "their bar room". The beds had mattress toppers which made them very comfortable. Loved the decor--the bedroom each had an animal theme; elephant, zebra, tiger, etc. This cabin is gorgeous.

We understand all the good things they say about it since we get together there every year with our whole family. We were there in June 2010 and are already planning for next year which will be the eight year in a row for us - we never get tired of Smoky Mountain Lodge or the area. We did put in all new mattresses recently - we like to be comfortable also, plus new leather sofas and tables in the living area, and some new bedding. Always stay where the Owner actually stays as it will invariably be nicer and better maintained.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

The Smokey Mountain Lodge is located at red light #8 in Gatlinburg. It is walking distance to downtown Gatlinburg. The decor is beautiful. Well equipped kitchen. The layout is wonderful for a large group. The master bedroom/bath is on the main floor with the Living room/ Kitchen. Downstairs 3 bedrooms/2 baths and a game room. (The air hockey table did not work properly). We had a bear come into the yard and visit for over 2 hours while we watched him on the back deck. The property was clean and well-maintained. The owner of the Chalet was very, very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this Chalet to any large group. There is so much space - you can all gather to play games or have lunch, breakfast and dinner together yet when you need a little time to unwind you can have privacy when/if you need it. Some of the things that we did while in the area were: Zorb- a must do! It was a blast! The Miricle- Very touching. A must see! The Comedy Barn- Good Family fun! Dollywood- Great Christmas shows and decorations. Wonder Works- Fun for all ages. Go Karts and Putt Putt- very fun Clingman's Dome- beautiful esp on a clear day. Cade's Cove- Saw deer, turkey, bear, bucks. Great Smokey Mountain National Park- Townsend - All a must see. Our overall experience was wonderful. We cooked and sat down and enjoyed family, friends and great food on Thanksgiving day. At night time we can look at all the lights in Gatlinburg from the back deck. There is a wonderful view of the sky lift, and space needle. There is fast access to the National Park. Teenagers can walk downtown daily and enjoy the attractions. This Chalet will help any family or large group have an enjoyable vacation in Gatlinburg!! Thank you for such great memories!!

We love to share it with nice people and really appreciate it when they take the time to let us know how much they enjoyed their stay there. You just can't beat the convenient arrangement for a large group, the beautiful decor and the wonderful location right in Gatlinburg. Getting together with family and friends often is one of the best investments you will ever make and you simply cannot put a value on it. We are fortunate to have done this ourselves in Gatlinburg for many years and are pleased to be able to offer Smoky Mountain Lodge to others to do the same.

We loved the location - several of us enjoyed walking to the strip without having to worry about parking. We look forward to making Smoky Mountain Lodge our fall break getaway for many years to come.

We vacationed at the Smoky Mountain Lodge last year and liked it so much we came back. The chalet is terrific and beatifully furnished. We particularily enjoy the animal theme decor and notice some nice additions since last year. We really like the 3-level arrangement with the living area in the middle so the family can spread out and the convenient location close to town.

Taken from the Guest Book: Just a note to let you know how much our family enjoyed staying at Smoky Mountain Lodge. Our grandsons loved the pool table downstairs and we loved having it down there. Santa did find us just fine and thanks for having a Christmas tree. Our nine year old grandson summed it up, he said, Grandmother can we make this a yearly tradition. We all agreed this was a perfect place to come together as a family. Again, thank you for having such a lovely place available for us to share. We plan to make this part of our Christmas in the future.
