  The cleanliness was not an issue for us. It was a great place for our family and a perfect location. You NEVER have to get in your car....walk to the beach, restaurants, shops and Fantasyland. Perfect for families.

  My family and I stayed in this home last August. Although in a good location and pet friendly, I found the house inside and out to be out dated and filthy. I spent the first afternoon of my vacation cleaning the house. Upon walking out to the upstairs patio, a spilled citronella candle was lathered all over the patio flooring, which needed to be cleaned secondary to being a fall hazard. There was a melted condom on a patio chair and embedded dirt on all the outdoor furniture, which I cleaned immediately. Above the toilet in the master bathroom read a sign that said "Only bodily fluids in the toilet", which I thought was a turn off. The outdoor shower had used soaps, shampoos and hair accessories throughout. It was dirty and disappointing. Don't waste your hard earned money like I did.

  Owner response: I have hired a new cleaning person for this upcoming summer who has been highly recommended. It is true, the toilet is very susceptible to backing up and my plumber had found tampons, baby wipes and other "flushable" items in the sewer line in past years. Since I put the sign up (as per his instructions) there have been no problems. Many renters are unaware how fragile the beach sewage lines are--it is important to keep them from not backing up.

  My family rented this house this summer and very much enjoyed it! We found the place to be clean upon check in and everything was in working order. The location is very convenient. Walk to beach, restaurants, everywhere. The neighborhood is very quaint and the people are all very polite. My wife is already looking forward to next year!

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

  I do not typically do reviews but I felt this one deserved one. This property is in a great location. Walk to everything. The photos do not accurately dipict the set up. Pet friendly. But if you have a 6 pound yorkie and the former tenant was a 35 pound shedding shepard watch out! The house was not very clean. It seems as if the landlord depends on the families departing to clean up the property for the next family. When I checked into the house to my dismay the air conditioner filters had not been washed in what seemed like a very very very long time. The units were not running cold so commen sense I checked and washed not my job as a vacationer. Their were dead bugs in the bedroom on the side of the bed, ant traps along side. Upon the entering the kitchen work area, the untensil drawers hadnt seen a sponge or a lick of Mr. Clean probably from inception. Mildew in those and also the ice trays. The dishwasher didnt work so the dishes were all put away dirty and left in washer dirty. VACATION means vacation. Upstairs seemed much cleaner, two bedrooms and a bathroom which btw both were scrubbed with clorox cleanup by me. I had to wash the floors and the couch cover and the cushions on the kitchen chairs. That was even before I had a chance to put my clean sheets on the beds. I did try to notify the landlord but she refused to call me, she did give my cell number out though to a repair company for the dishwasher, I guess she thought I was going to miss a beach day for her repair. In addition, the outside shower was ridden with cobwebs, i depend on that so my daughter who is wheelchair bound can take a shower. If you consider this property and use the washer and dryer make sure you run an empty load for my first wash had dog hair all over it. I wish the landlord had enough respect to return a phone call, I would have not left this Review. The lack of courtesy was downright imature and disrespectul. Rent at your own risk. I cleaned the house so for the next couple of families at least you know something was washed.

  Owner response: There is a cleaning person in between each tenant. They clean the house and sweep the outdoor shower. They do not leave the air conditioners on--it is up to the tenant to decide if they want them on or the windows open. The outdoor shower is outside and even though it is cleaned once a week, I cannot control the spiders in between sweepings. As soon as I heard the dishwasher was broken, I sent my handyman and a repairman over to fix it--which they did. 2 of the air conditioners are 3 years old and 2 of them are brand new--installed in mid-June 2011. There are ant traps throughout the first floor as a preventative measure as ants tend to come in from the outside when there is food around.
