Our guest apartment is the perfect place to relax. The living room has comfortable seating for up to eight guests, and is set up for an evening of entertainment or to just relax after a busy day. Along with the incredible views from the large picture windows, there is a fireplace which provides a warm glow for romantic evenings after the sun has set and the stars come out. The lodge is equipped with TV, DVD, stereo, satelite, and a library of movies, music, books and games for your entertainment .
The dining area, kitchen, and living room share a beautiful open area with plenty of sunshine and mountain views.
The kitchen is fully appointed with granite countertops, brand-new appliances, and all the tools needed to whip up the perfect meal. The cabinets are hand-crafted by Carl, who has been designing and selling his woodworking for over thirty years.
The balcony, which is furnished with a gas grill and plenty of outdoor seating, provides a great gathering area for barbecues and watching incredible sunsets. The backyard offers lots of room for setting up a badminton game or vollyball, and there is a horsehoe pit out in the horse pasture.
The bedrooms are furnished with comfortable queen beds and each is decorated with local themes; The Fisherman's Retreat, the Beargrass Room, and the Bear Den. The Beargrass Room is quite roomy and in addition to the queen bed, also has a queen futon sofa for either a comfy sitting nook or extra sleeping.
Plenty of hiking and fishing can be found right out the back door. In the winter, there are cross country trails that can be accessed from our property. The Two Medicine entrance to Glacier Park is only a twenty-mintute drive away, which boasts one of the most scenic lakes in the park. There are boat concessions, miles of hiking trails, and a historical campstore which is well stocked with park information, gear, and gifts. The town of East Glacier Park is three miles away and offers grocery stores, fine restaurants, gift shops, and a post office.
For large groups, such as weddings, reunions, or retreats, our property is adjacent to vrbo listing # 95176, and both properties can be rented together to accomodate up to 16 guests.

The adjectives to describe Lone Elk Lodge are; comfortable and homey and peaceful after our long walks through ruggedly beautiful country. We started and ended each day very much at ease - and we did see a lone elk across the meadow. We enjoyed all our adventures - the variety of life zones along the Firebrand Pass trail was incredible - Aspen, Pine, flower-filled meadows, lush vegetation and low plant life high up among the rocks - the alpine lakes and magnificent vistas we encountered on other other adventures - the goats, sheep, marmots, ground squirrels we met up close. Then our return to the comforts of our accomodations - a fine retreat and respite.

Fantastic place! Nice view! Great hospitalilty! Thank you for making our stay here so pleasant and comfortable. We've stayed in four different places in Montana, and this was by far the best! (Actually, it's one of the best places we've stay in while on vacation anywhere!) We hope to stay here again in the future when we're in East Glacier! Thank you!

This was our first trip to Montana, and we were fortunate to be able to spend a week in this lovely home. We loved the scenery, the remote area, backyard trail, and all the special touches that were put into the house. The scones were delicious, and we loved the open kitchen and family room area. The fireplace was great on the several cool nights that we had while we were here. We used the cooler that was provided a number of times to take lunch before starting our hike. How handy! Thanks so much for providing us with such a nice place to stay. We'll tell all our friends!
