Lone Elk Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. It is beautifully furnished, and equipped with anything you might need. Leslie was also very hospitable, and gave us tips on great hikes in GP, places to eat., etc. We loved our stay at Lone Elk Lodge and hope to come back again soon!Did you find this review helpful? Our family of four had a wonderful time staying in the Summitt unit. It was so thoughtfully appointed and everyone slept soundly in the 3 comfortable bedrooms. The view from the great room (and every room for that matter) was fantastic. We could see the beautiful peaks in the Two Medicine area of the park. The owners have put a lot of thought and care into providing a great place for their guests to recharge after a busy day of hiking in Glacier National Park. There are fantastic restaurants in East Glacier, so you won't need to drive hardly at all to get to great food! The lodge is sparkling clean, and the owners are right there if you have any needs or questions! Can't wait to return!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Rising Wolf unit at Lone Elk Lodge. After a full day's travel we arrived to find the unit stocked with all the basic necessities which included coffee and fresh baked scones. The unit has two nice porches from which you can view the mountains or horses on the property. The kitchen was well stocked with many basics. The bedrooms each had a private bath and were very comfortable. The unit includes a washer/dryer (nice!)The location is great with close access to town. There is a good local pub/restaurant just down from the lodge and a great Mexican restaurant with great margaritas. We also enjoyed a couple of breakfasts at the Two Medicine Grill. Local hiking in the Two Medicine area was very convenient (we took boat ride across Two Medicine and hiked to the falls). Leslie was most helpful with helping us choose a great hike including Red Rock Falls to Bullhead Lake in the Many Glacier area. We really enjoyed our three days at Lone Elk Lodge.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stayed for 4 nights of a 2 week trip to Waterton-Glacier National Park with our friends. We found the accommodations to be of the highest quality - beautifully built and decorated with marvelous views. The owner, who provided fresh scones on the day of our arrival, was very helpful with local restaurants and directions to Glacier's entrances for Many Glaciers, St Mary and Two Medicine, where we hiked. We even had a close (200') encounter with 4 grizzlies in Many Glaciers area and lived to tell the story! The pictures for this rental do not do it justice and all 4 of us would highly recommend it as a comfortable and convenient place to stay - we didn't want to leave!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our group of 10 long time friends had a wonderful stay at Lone Elk Lodge, filling Summit and Sinopah with lots of laughter. Many thanks to Carl and Leslie for providing transportation from the train station and for their hospitality. The Lodge provides luxury accommodations and was the perfect place for preparing meals, enjoying a glass of wine, and star gazing at night. We hiked for 3 days in Glacier National Park and enjoyed every moment. We would love to return to Lone Elk Lodge.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stayed in Summit, the upstairs three bedroom unit with a beautiful view of the mountains, and were so happy with our choice. It is truly a home away from home: comfortable, clean, exceptionally well equipped, and well furnished. It's obvious that there has been a lot of attention to detail. Lone Elk Lodge is situated on a gorgeous property just outside of town, where there are a number of restaurants, and close to the Two Medicine entrance to the park. Leslie and Carl are wonderful hosts - kind, helpful, and easy to work with. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

On our trip to Glacier, we stayed 3 nights on the west side and 4 on the east. We stayed in the Rising Wolf condo, July 5-9. This lodge is truly beautiful. We took a peek into all three units (they were unoccupied at the time) and all were beautifully decorated and spacious. Our 2 bedroom unit was large: spacious bedrooms, baths, kitchen and living area. The beds were very comfortable. I was amazed at how well the walls must have been insulated. The units were all occupied by the evening of the 5th. We could hear other residents when they were unpacking, but could not hear a footstep or sound when they were inside the units. Leslie and Carl were friendly, and they were very helpful in providing directions, hiking suggestions, etc. We left early each morning and returned late in the evening, so it was wonderful to return to such a lovely home each evening. It is located very near the East Park and Two Medicine entrances. It is about an hour's drive to Many; an hour and a half to Waterton. However, the drive is pleasant and one can enjoy the countryside. I would strongly recommend this home to all who come to see the majestic Glacier National Park.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Carl and Leslie are very knowledgable about the park. They are willing to answer any questions - even before you arrive. We found their suggestions very useful and enjoyed the hikes they suggested. They told us quicker ways to get around, the best places to go shopping. The whole family is very welcoming. They make you feel right at home. The condo was very clean. It had everything we needed. The pictures are very accurate. All the appliances are in great working order. There was a good supply of books on the park. The location was excellent, it didn't take long to get to any point in the park. We would highly recommend staying at the Lone Elk Lodge to anyone visiting the park. We are already planning a return visit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: Carl and Leslie Haggar have lived in East Glacier for over thirty years, and hope for another thirty. They love hiking in Glacier Park in the summer and skiing the nearby mountain trails in the winter. Carl is also an avid fisherman and hunter, and loves to share his stories about recreating in this beautiful country. They built a successful woodworking business, manufacturing wooden kitchen products, such as bread knives, cutting boards, and recipe boxes. They have since sold the business, but Carl continues to put his woodworking skills to work by creating cabinets and furniture for their vacation rental. They love to share their favorite haunts with their visitors, and are very knowledgeable about trails, streams, and lakes in the Glacier Park area.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The property is located in a beautiful rural setting, with a lovely little trail that goes to an active beaver pond, home to a variety of ducks and geese. There is world-class fishing nearby on the Reservation lakes, as well as in Glacier Park. In the winter, there are numerous trails for both cross country skiing as well as snowmobiling. The rental is very cozy and well stocked and provides a perfect ending to an adventure-filled day.
