We stayed for 4 nights of a 2 week trip to Waterton-Glacier National Park with our friends. We found the accommodations to be of the highest quality - beautifully built and decorated with marvelous views. The owner, who provided fresh scones on the day of our arrival, was very helpful with local restaurants and directions to Glacier's entrances for Many Glaciers, St Mary and Two Medicine, where we hiked. We even had a close (200') encounter with 4 grizzlies in Many Glaciers area and lived to tell the story! The pictures for this rental do not do it justice and all 4 of us would highly recommend it as a comfortable and convenient place to stay - we didn't want to leave!

Carl, Leslie & Maura are the perfect hosts, In the perfect place. What can I say your place is beautiful. We ought to know my wife & I have stayed in three different units & they are all super nice. Your suggestions on where to eat, places to go & hikes to do are always perfect for us. We feel like that we are just staying with friends. What a wonderful experience it has been each time. It is so hard to leave each time. See you again next Sept.

Our group of 10 long time friends had a wonderful stay at Lone Elk Lodge, filling Summit and Sinopah with lots of laughter. Many thanks to Carl and Leslie for providing transportation from the train station and for their hospitality. The Lodge provides luxury accommodations and was the perfect place for preparing meals, enjoying a glass of wine, and star gazing at night. We hiked for 3 days in Glacier National Park and enjoyed every moment. We would love to return to Lone Elk Lodge.

We stayed in Summit, the upstairs three bedroom unit with a beautiful view of the mountains, and were so happy with our choice. It is truly a home away from home: comfortable, clean, exceptionally well equipped, and well furnished. It's obvious that there has been a lot of attention to detail. Lone Elk Lodge is situated on a gorgeous property just outside of town, where there are a number of restaurants, and close to the Two Medicine entrance to the park. Leslie and Carl are wonderful hosts - kind, helpful, and easy to work with. Highly recommended!

On our trip to Glacier, we stayed 3 nights on the west side and 4 on the east. We stayed in the Rising Wolf condo, July 5-9. This lodge is truly beautiful. We took a peek into all three units (they were unoccupied at the time) and all were beautifully decorated and spacious. Our 2 bedroom unit was large: spacious bedrooms, baths, kitchen and living area. The beds were very comfortable. I was amazed at how well the walls must have been insulated. The units were all occupied by the evening of the 5th. We could hear other residents when they were unpacking, but could not hear a footstep or sound when they were inside the units. Leslie and Carl were friendly, and they were very helpful in providing directions, hiking suggestions, etc. We left early each morning and returned late in the evening, so it was wonderful to return to such a lovely home each evening. It is located very near the East Park and Two Medicine entrances. It is about an hour's drive to Many; an hour and a half to Waterton. However, the drive is pleasant and one can enjoy the countryside. I would strongly recommend this home to all who come to see the majestic Glacier National Park.

Carl and Leslie are very knowledgable about the park. They are willing to answer any questions - even before you arrive. We found their suggestions very useful and enjoyed the hikes they suggested. They told us quicker ways to get around, the best places to go shopping. The whole family is very welcoming. They make you feel right at home. The condo was very clean. It had everything we needed. The pictures are very accurate. All the appliances are in great working order. There was a good supply of books on the park. The location was excellent, it didn't take long to get to any point in the park. We would highly recommend staying at the Lone Elk Lodge to anyone visiting the park. We are already planning a return visit.

We had the privilege of staying with Carl and Leslie just a few weeks ago in unforgettable Glacier National Park. We rented Rising Wolf (the two-bedroom apartment). From the very first email, I knew I was in good hands. The owners are everything you hope they would be, prompt to respond to your request, very helpful and courteous in helping you with the reservation, as well as informative. But then when you get there, they go well beyond that and make you feel welcome in their property, so that they become like your extended family by the time you leave. The products they use (such as soap, laundry detergent, etc) were all ecofriendly, the kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need. The apartment was lovingly decorated and beautifully built, everything and more that they describe in their website. My family usually stays in rental properties when we travel and this is by far the most endearing and the one I most look forward to returning. The lodge is ideally located to explore the park, next door to the Two-Medicine area, with West Glacier and Many Glacier essentially the same distance, so that you can explore both sides of the park from one single, very comfortable and well-appointed location. My nine-year old was so happy with his experience that he was moved to write his own note in the guest book. Nobody in my family wanted to leave. Finally, consider that for often less than you would spend at a hotel you in essence get a house with very friendly but non-intrusive owners available nearby whenever you need good advise about a trail, a restaurant or anything else you can think of. Stay nowhere else in Glacier.

I stayed in the 3 bedroom Sinopah condo for 3 nights in July 2010 with my husband, two daughters (ages 9 and 11) and in-laws. The lodge is conveniently located about two miles from East Glacier and a short drive from the Two Medicine Lake area. Right after coming in and seeing the spacious, luxurious rooms, I immediately knew that we would be very comfortable here and it would be hard to leave. The rooms were extremely cozy, comfortable and decorated in excellent taste. I loved the modern kitchen with updated appliances, granite countertops and new wood cabinets. The dining area and kitchen with its high quality furniture, spaciousness and rustic feel was great to relax in. The large bedrooms had very comfortable beds, soft, plush carpets you could sink your well-travelled feet into, and bathrooms with high quality ceramic and stone design. The condo was well stocked with everything we needed--plenty of soft, luxurious towels, dishes, cookware, etc. The lodge had new, high quality construction and was so comfortable. We looked forward to coming here and relaxing after our days of sightseeing. Our daughters loved playing the board games that were in the lodge, getting cozy in their bedroom, and playing on the hammock and swing in the spacious backyard. The owners were very friendly and hospitable. We highly recommend this beautiful lodge!

My family rented all 3 untis from Lone Elk Lodge the weekend of my wedding. These units are unbelievable! they are incredibly spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. these units are newer, so they have a lot of modern upgrades making it easy to enjoy this home away from home. this is a great spot for those of you who like something off the beaten path without having to sacrifice your everday luxuries. it sits on a beautiful piece of property near glacier national park. you can see a number of the peaks while looking out the windows of the units. the owners were extremely helpful in answering all our questions leading upto our arrival, which made for a wonderful stay once we got there. I can't say enough good things about these accommodations. if you are at all quivering about this due to price, believe me it is worth every penny!

We stayed in the Rising Wold unit from 7/8 to 7/15/2010 and couldn't have asked for better accommodations. We had priced the hotels in East Glacier, and this unit was not much more money plus we had the benefit of having a new full kitchen, washer dryer, 2 bathrooms, great views, and privacy that you don't have at the hotels. The hotels in the area were small so this was a perfect alternative. The owners, Carl & Leslie were also very knowledgeable about the area and what to see at Glacier Park. We had a great view of a double rainbow right from our living room window and balcony one afternoon. If we are ever in the area again we will be staying at the Lone Elk!

We stayed at the brand new Sinopah in late June. I can't say enough wonderful things about the property. It is very conveniently located just a couple miles outside East Glacier in a quiet area with a lovely view. The lodge is beautifully built and furnished and really makes you feel like you are at home. We were a group of 5 adults and 4 teens and had plenty of room. The beds were super comfy and the plush carpets felt so good on our tired feet. We loved the stone and marble in the bathrooms. And if the beautiful accommodations aren't enough to convince you to book, the owners, Carl and Leslie, are the nicest people you will ever meet. From the first time I spoke with Leslie about booking the lodge until we checked out after our stay, they were friendly, helpful, and very hospitable. They not only provided a wonderful place for us to stay but helped us tremendously with planning things to do while there. We looked at many different places to stay before booking the lodge and this was by far the best place and very affordable. I highly recommend it!!!!

We had a wonderful experience in the Rising Wolf condo. After a long day of travel, it provided all of the comforts of home and better with a view of the mountains from our bedroom as the sun was setting. What a wonderful view to wake-up to as well! Leslie and Carl were wonderful hosts making sure our needs were met and providing information for us to make our trip more enjoyable. The bedrooms were quite spacious and the living room and kitchen were more than adequate to relax in and prepare our meals. We did not want to leave and were recommending this place to family and friends before we left. We look forward to visiting again.

We just returned from a 4 day stay at Lone Elk Lodge. We stayed in the new 3bed/ 3bath Sinopah condo. The place was perfect the pictures on the website barely touch on it's beauty. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were luxurious. Both important features after a day of hiking! You are located perfectly to visit East Glacier & The Two Medicine Valley. Don't miss the WHISTLE STOP for breakfast. Carl & Leslie were great with suggestions for hikes and activities. The transactions went smoothly. I am so glad we decided to stay at Lone Elk, don"t hesitate to book it.

Truly a lovely stay! A majestic meeting spot for our family reunion. Leslie and Carl were so helpful in recommending some local "must sees". Our family was able to relax and enjoy the scenic views, local amenities, and take in the park. Our group ranged from ages 2-84! Thanks L & C for the lovely accommodations and cooperation with our crew! Kyle and Judy

This little place is so beautiful and cozy. The owners have put a lot of love into every detail. When we arrived there were homemade cookies and scones! *Yummy* The view of the mountains out the bayview window is breathtaking. We can't wait to make it a tradition to go out to Lone Elk Lodge. ~Kenny & Amber

The adjectives to describe Lone Elk Lodge are; comfortable and homey and peaceful after our long walks through ruggedly beautiful country. We started and ended each day very much at ease - and we did see a lone elk across the meadow. We enjoyed all our adventures - the variety of life zones along the Firebrand Pass trail was incredible - Aspen, Pine, flower-filled meadows, lush vegetation and low plant life high up among the rocks - the alpine lakes and magnificent vistas we encountered on other other adventures - the goats, sheep, marmots, ground squirrels we met up close. Then our return to the comforts of our accomodations - a fine retreat and respite.

This was our first trip to Montana, and we were fortunate to be able to spend a week in this lovely home. We loved the scenery, the remote area, backyard trail, and all the special touches that were put into the house. The scones were delicious, and we loved the open kitchen and family room area. The fireplace was great on the several cool nights that we had while we were here. We used the cooler that was provided a number of times to take lunch before starting our hike. How handy! Thanks so much for providing us with such a nice place to stay. We'll tell all our friends!
