Aloha Spirit!

As a Kama'aina coming home with my whole family, I was searching for a place that would offer the Aloha Spirit, and not much of the tourist chaos. I was drawn to Al's description of the villas, and felt the location close to Wailua Homesteads would be a perfect spot. Al responded very quickly, and we enjoyed a long "talk story" over the phone as I reminisced about my life on Kauai. I felt this would be the perfect place to bring my family, and I was not disappointed. We came to the villa's on our second week, and Al was very accommodating as we were coming from the beach, so delayed an hour or so..no worry! The villa's size was perfect for our party of 5. The unit was very clean, spacious, and fully stocked with all that we needed. I especially loved the over stock of fresh, plush white towels! We loved being within walking distance to town and to the beach. We used the bike trail for early morning runs. The common area was were we spent every afternoon..relaxing, grilling.... Al had offered a pot luck with the other tenants and his daughter and son in law. What a special night that was! Our son's girlfriend was hooked on fresh coconuts, and Al brought many that he opened, and we could all enjoy. HIs daughter brought all the food from the islands; laulau (my personal fav), grilled Opihi, sashimi, haupia, teriyaki chicken. Delicious! His daughter and son in law sang for us beautiful music from the islands...what an outpouring of Aloha Spirit! A night I will never forget! It was a real blessing to look around and see my family get a feeling of the magic of Kauai.... I will continue to come to this beautiful place...I will suggest all my friends to come here! If you are looking for a warm, quiet, safe haven with a local feel, this is it! Thank you Al and family! We hope to see you again in February!! Valerie

We looked all over for a place to stay that was affordable so we could do more things on our budget. Al Met us out as we arrived at night with flashlight. Owner met with us to discuss options on the island and provided customized portfolio of things to do and see on the island. Saved a lot of time! The place is great! Great for 2 couples. Located in a great area close to a local market in which we bought chilled coconuts. It rained some days and we did not mind and we used the charcoal grill to grill up some really good food. Just a very pleasant stay and I recommend to anybody. We appreciated that the hospitality of Al as it was our first stay in Hawaii! Mahalo!
Owner response:I am delighted that Lance and family had a great time. It is a special treat to find that our in briefing (talking story about the local area and island customs) and our guide book of suggestions and alternatives saved them significant time and money. My father who was one of the founders of the mentioned farmer’s market would have enjoyed seeing the comment on the chilled coconuts. As a matter of clarification: streets are well lit and our entry outside lights automatically turn on at night and stay on for a selected period of time then switch to detection modes. We were using subdued lighting at that time to accentuate the soothing effect created by our warm tone amber led solar lighting: decorative Malibu style lights on the pathways complemented with flickering Tikki solar torches in the patio.

The best bargain in Kauai! Loved this villa! Centrally located and very clean.Allan was such a gracious host. He gave us tips on where to go, restaurants, supermarkets and he went out to his way to find coconuts for my hubby. Allan you're the best! Thanks again.

A great place to stay. Very clean and comfortable and Al was a wonderful host. The location is convenient to everything from the beach to the grocery store to a great little coffee house. The price was right for the accomodations and we received our deposit back in a timely manner as promised. We've recommended it to several friends and plan to stay there again next year.

The true Hawai'i, Aloha at it's best! People who stay in hotels never really experience the islands, or the real people who make Hawiai'i the Aloha State. Mahalo Nui Loa for your kindness, we will be back every year!

This place is perfect for those who want decent accomodations on a budget. There is a small yard with a picnic table and bbq, so you can sit outside and enjoy your meals, or entertain friends. There is an area to store a surfboard and diving or snorkel gear. It is centrally located so you can walk to almost anywhere you want to go...restaurants, grocery stores, the beach, souvenir shopping, the farmer's market and the craft fair. If you're driving, you are midway between Hanalei on the north shore and Waimea on the west shore. We stayed for 15 nights and we will definately come back again on our next trip.
