A short nature trail out back leads to Bubbles Beach, a quiet eddy with sandy shores, ideal for fishing and picnicking. The town of Kernville, located three miles down the road, is an outdoor recreational center with outfitters for rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, and fly fishing. It has a small town atmosphere with restaurants, antique stores, a historic museum and riverside park where you can watch kayakers at play. Kernville is a Southern California gem. This area is the gateway to the Sequoia National Forest, home of the Needles climbing area and the Forks of the Kern.
