My whole family (mother, sister, her husband, my husband, my two kids - 9 and 7 - and our two small dogs) has rented a place in the Lakes region every summer since 2007. We have yet to return to the same home twice, not because we like variety, but because one or more members of the group had issues with the house or location. This house will break that tradition, as our stay was so perfect that we plan to make a return visit next year. The beds are comfortable, the layout is perfectly setup for multiple families, the living areas are spacious, and the lake was refreshingly peaceful. The kids slept in the basement, which, thanks to the dehumidifier, was not "basement-y" and was so quiet that they slept in longer than they ever have on these summer vacations. We enjoyed the pool table, and the kayaks saw daily use. We picked pints and pints of blueberries - the sweetest we've ever tasted! - along the lake. On days that we were out and about and didn't get to swim in the lake, the hot tub was a nice option in the evening. The living areas have plenty of room for our large group, and the couches were comfortable and in great shape. The street and surrounding areas were perfect for daily dog walks - quiet, safe, and not excessively buggy. Finally, this is the first house we've stayed in where the owners have been readily available to assist with anything we needed. Nothing went wrong during our stay, but I am confident that had something gone awry, Dick & Maureen would have been on top of it right away. We're so grateful to have found this spot!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My wife and I rented this house for a long week end in June 2012. This house is very nice and has everything you could ask for. Plenty of room, gorgeous view of the lake and extremely peaceful! The lake is wonderful and the property is vey well taken care of. The hot tub and grill on the deck made it extra nice! Dick was super easy to work with and I would def do business with him again. No complaints here!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Stayed for a winter 3 day weekend, the house was gorgeous, hot tub and sauna made the trip. The owner was extremely helpful, each fireplace was stocked with a big stack of dry wood, kitchen set up perfectly for cooking. Could not have asked for a better experience, and would definitely go again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our family of four and puppy had a lovely vacation in this wonderful home. We swam, kayaked, paddle boated, hot tubbed, fished, grilled, and cooked in the well-equipped kitchen. We were delighted to follow a loon while in the kayaks and loved exploring this peaceful lake. Another family of four stayed with us for a couple of days, and there was plenty of room. The kids enjoyed sleeping in the bunk beds in the basement. We hope to return.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

The lake was really clear and pretty quiet. The dock and swimming area were great! The kayaks and paddleboat were used every day. The house was very clean but, we would not use the basement for a bedroom. The deck and hot tub were really nice! A definate plus! Plenty of room for the eight of us! Both Wolfboro and Weirs Beach were less than 30 easy drive minutes away.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week on Sunset Lake. The house fit all of us (2 grandparents, 2 daughters and husbands and 4 grandchildren ages 9 to 1) perfectly. The Lake with dock and swimming area cordoned off with large rocks was a perfect fit for all ages. The water is beautifully clear and just the right temperature. Kayaks and paddleboat were a wonderful addition. The LOONS topped off a perfect week. Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We cannot say enough great things about this house! The house is spacious, with plenty of room for all aged family members. The lake is wonderful! We had alot of fun in the kayaks and paddle boat. We also hiked nearby and enjoyed a couple of attractions in the area. We were also privy to watch a pair of loons introduce it's new baby to the lake! Dick and Maureen certainly provide a nice, clean, and friendly home to rent! We would definatley recommend this property for your vacation!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This quiet, private lake was exactly what our family (two parents, two daughters w/husbands, and two grandsons) wanted. We wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle of Lake Winnipesaukee, and avoid the large numbers of high speed power boats on the big lake. Sunset Lake provided exactly what we wanted-quiet, clean, good swimming, good fishing and wonderful views. All of this within just a few minutes of convenient grocery shopping and restaurants, plus only 20 minutes away from Weirs Beach, which provided great fun for the 10 yr old and 6 yr old grandsons. The home was well equipped, and spacious enough for all of us to enjoy privacy for down time when needed. The regulation size pool table in the lower level was a special treat for our grandsons, who learned a little about billiards from Grandpa. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed to prepare great meals. The home was clean and very well equipped, which added to our enjoyment. Of special note was a large, clean hot tub located on the rear deck, which provided wonderful relaxation after a day of activities. The description and photos were accurate, and reflected the property well. Just be cautioned to get specific driving directions from Dick Flaherty, as the home is tricky to locate (which adds to its charm and privacy.) I have already recommended this property to several friends and other family members.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We stayed July 9- 13th 2011 and the place was so nice we actually ended up getting married in a small, intimate wedding ceremony overlooking the lake. The property needed a little bit of yard work but it would have been fine if we weren't looking to take our wedding photos there. The owners were great!!! The house was clean, very well located and we very much enjoyed the hot tub, grill and boats. The lake is pristine and the swimming area was perfect for all ages- even small ones. Our dog was also in heaven since we have a lab who lives to swim. The sound of the loons was exquisite and we even saw a bald eagle fly past the house once. Overall lovely experience that we will remember fondly every anniversary! In fact- we hope to return for anniversaries in the future :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.
