My boyfriend and I came here with our two pups for 4 nights and had a great time. Brina's place is in such a great location - super close to the bay and right across the street from the beach. Everything in the condo was really well taken care of and well prepared for our stay. Brina even let us check in early! Needless to say we had an awesome stay and really enjoyed having a small kitchen and a couch. Can't wait to go back to San Diego!

Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely little condo, Brina! We had such a great time and really loved being so close to everything Mission Beach has to offer. When we arrived a little earlier than check-in, the housekeeper was still there and she was very pleasant and allowed us to leave our bags while we grabbed some lunch. Everything was thought of to make us comfortable - from the stocked bath products to the kitchen essentials. We will definitely be coming back again soon!

It was not what I expected. I expected something a little more modern and cleaner. Oven did not work and there was ac in the window. screen on window ripped. readng the book electrical needs updateing. It is okay for some college kids not for me.

Owner response:Thank you for your stay however our oven does work - I wish you would have called and we could have helped. The A/C is a brand new unit and our HOA does not allow us to wall mount it so keeping it in the window is the best and only option.

Absolutely a great location. Walk one block east to the bay, or two blocks west to the ocean. A bit tight with four of us there, but we happily managed. Brina had everything we wanted or needed in a home-away-from-home and she was very easy to work/communicate with. A great breakfast around the corner at The Mission. Walking distance to good food, grocery, pedicures, massages, bars, and beaches!

You can't beat the location. The bay is practically right out the door and the Pacific Ocean is across the main street. We enjoyed the close proximity to coffee shops and restaurants. The interior is tastefully decorated and many little touches are included. The furniture and the master bed are comfortable. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Overall, a very fun trip and a nice place to come home to every evening. Thank you!

Best for Laid Back Couples

This is the third home that I've rented on HomeAway and based on the quantity of stellar reviews I was certain that this home would be perfect for my family of 4. We have 2 toddlers aged 3 and 4 and rented the property on very short notice for 3 nights. First off, the owner is very responsive, professional and well organized. She was easy to work with in setting everything up and has set up the unit so that it can accessed without having to actually set up a meeting time to transfer keys, etc. The unit is in a great location and has all the amenities you can use and then some. The unit has very tasteful furniture and is roomy enough for a cozy 4 (but definitely not 6 in my opinion). For our family, the critical factor in renting a property is cleanliness and for us, we could unfortunately only give it 4 stars. My toddlers like to roll and play on the ground and I therefore took some wet paper towels wipe down a play area. The main room floor was dirty. I wiped down the floors for half an hour with water and windex (all i could find) to put my mind at ease. The bedroom floor was much better and the bathroom floor to my relief was very clean. My husband also had to replace 3 ceiling lightbulbs that were out (luckily, bulbs were found in a drawer). We were also very disappointed with the linens. To be fair, all the linens appeared to be washed and clean but they were very old and worn down. The face towels were completely discolored and aesthetically unpleasing. The main bed mattress is also covered in a plastic bag/wrapper underneath the sheets. I assume this is to protect the mattress but it is also audible whenever you shift while trying to sleep. Lastly and and most importantly for us, the outside sofa bed area is absolutely not appropriate for toddlers or kids that need to get to bed before 1 am. There is a motion detected safety floodlight right outside the window that is triggered whenever someone approaches the steps. The curtain that covers the window is a sheer guaze and does not block out any of the light. From indoors it gives the effect of a Semi truck parked right in front of the window. The kids were chanting "bright dark bright dark" until about 12:30 am. This wrecked our schedule the next morning and we decided to check out after night one and moved to a hotel. Although we requested a possible one night refund, given our situation, we were disappointed to learn that none of the 3 nights would be refunded.

Owner response:The more I try to please everyone, the more I realize it is impossible. Bayside Bungalow has been home away from home for countless families and they come back year after year. This whole situation was very strange. First of all, the motion sensor light is on the staircase for safety and it only goes on when someone is on the stairs. There was only one other guest upstairs so unless they were in and out all night, I have no idea why the light would have gone on. No one has ever so much as mentioned this light before. It isn't even a "flood" light - it's an energy efficient regular bulb. And the curtains are heavy linen - not gauze. Secondly, our floors are professionally cleaned well. There is a little beach sand here and there which is impossible to completely remove but it's the beach. We mostly have families stay with us and up until now, none of this has been a problem. As for the linen situation - we change everything every six months. Guests are very hard on towels. Especially hand towels. We recently had to switch from white to blue because of the white towels were so stained. Even providing baby oil and cotton balls didn't help - people on vacation just love to remove their makeup with hand towels. It's a losing battle. Our mattresses are wrapped with washable, waterproof mattress protectors which we can clean in between stays. Personally, I don't think I would want to stay on an unprotected vacation rental mattress. Sorry I couldn't refund your money but that is our policy.

i selected this condo, for a family vacation with my husband and 2 yr old, because of the personal write up from the owner description and photos are accurate the owner is very easy to communicate with & get a hold of, stocked kitchen, ample linens (worn but this a rental not a hotel), beach toys & baby gear included & the location is perfect - at the bay or ocean in a minute (no joke - they are RIGHT there)!!!! a binder with maps, menus & coupons was also a pleasant stand out feature. there are a ton of places to eat within walking distance and ralphs grocery store is just down the street i highly suggest breakfast at the mission = YUM!!!!! locals are super nice *

My family just spent a week at the Bayside Bungalow. It is a good value in a great location - a very short walk to the ocean and Mission Bay, as well as various shops and restaurants. We used it as a base for seeing the greater San Diego area, and found it well suited for that as well. The neighbors were quiet and friendly, and the neighborhood felt very safe. You do get a reserved spot, but I would note that parking is tight as it is throughout Mission Beach. I think an SUV or Minivan would be a tight squeeze. Overall, we were happy with the unit as well as dealing with Brina.

The location of the condo is great. A biking, walking path that runs along the bay is only 100 feet away, and the ocean-side path is 100 yards in the opposite direction. I took advantage of both, walking and biking, every day. A great steak and seafood place, Saska's, is a two minute walk away. The condo has all the comforts of home (cable TV, broadband internet, a tidy, fully-equipped kitchen with coffee maker, toaster and microwave). I plan on returning soon.

We loved this little place. The beach was very close and our dog Sydney loved that. We rented bikes and hardly drove the whole time. Everything you need is right near by. This is a great place and we hope to return next spring.

We've just returned from our stay at Bayside Bungalow and have nothing but praise for Brina and her fine rental. The bay is almost literally out the front door with the ocean side just a 1 minute walk away. My 7 and 6 year old boys had a great time using the wake-boards provided. Keep up the good work, Brina. We would definitely recommend this rental to friends and family! Also, a side note, we found the neighbors to be extremely nice!

The place was TERRIFIC! Everything we needed was included plus some! We enjoyed our stay profoundly and we were delighted that there was no cleaning fee and all we had to do was a short cleaning checklist. A wonderful little place to stay in Mission Beach, and it comes with a portable swamp cooler which came in handy every night! There we no problems whatsoever. Choose this one! We had a wonderful stay at the Bayside Bungalow. It was well kept and had all of the extras including a crib for our 6 month old. Our 4 year old loved the beach on the bay that was full of shells! The convenience of nearby restaurants and shops was also great.

My husband, 4 year old, 6 month old and I had a wonderful vacation in San Diego. We have to give the Bayside Bungalow a lot of credit. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. We were even provided a crib and a dog bed. The location was even better! We were about a block from Mission Bay, which is home to a beach full of seashells and only a few blocks from the ocean. To top it off there was a wonderful Sushi place, Saskas, practically across the street and a lovely place for breakfast, Olives. We will have lasting memories from staying at this wonderful place.

We stayed at Bayside Bungalow for 8 days while attending our daughter's graduation. We had a FANTASTIC time. The unit DOES indeed have every comfort of home. There was even a lawn chair for my husband to take down to beach every morning and drink his coffee and read his paper. We would definitely stay again-especially while Brina owns/manages! If I were coming alone, I would probably rent a smaller car. A full size does fit, but manuevering in San Diego is an issue. Not the units issue though. It's tight all over. Lots of people want to go to San Diego;) We will have many memories to treasure at Bayside Bungalow.

Great location!!!! Your choice of the bay or the ocean within steps. The condo is very clean an well kept. Lots of little extras in case you forget something. We stayed two nights with our 4-year old. I enjoyed the clean condo and thoughtful touches provided by Brina, the owner; my husband enjoyed the flat-screen TV and all the channels; and my daughter was thrilled with the beach! We were able to take many leisurely walks around town and felt completely safe, day and night. There are many choices in restaurants and fun shopping. The town, beach and bay were decidedly immaculate compared to Orange County beaches! Thanks, Bayside! We'd love to stay with you again!

I spent 5 days at Bayside Bungalow, and didn't want to leave. Brina was very helpful and great. The bungalow had all the necessities you needed and more! Not to mention the location was perfect. The beach and bay was literally a block away. The only thing is if you have sprint for your cell phone carrier you might want to bring a back up phone. My stay was perfect the nieghbors were extremely nice! I would recommend this place to anybody. Thanks Brina!!

I would recommend staying here. It is a very cute and clean place to stay. The location is excellent - a block from the beach on one side, and three blocks on the other side. It is also conveniently located near many attractions in San Diego.

My husband, toddler, and I stayed at the condo for four nights last week. It was so close to the beach and the bay, and many restaurants were walking distance, as well. We were able to bring our dog, too. The condo was clean and bright. There is a parking spot, but it is really tight. Fortunately, we ran into the owners of the parking spot next to it, and they said we could occupy both spaces, otherwise, our SUV wouldn't fit with another car next to it. There is free parking pretty close at the rec center. Our daughter loved the playground at the rec center. Good clean place to stay, close to beach and restaurants, and the price is right. Thanks!

Owner response:If you have a normal sized vehicle, you will have no problem parking in our space. The space is a city regulated size - there is a wall on either side so if you bring a large truck or SUV, and the pace next to us is occupied, you will have to back in to the space. My husband and I drive a mid sized SUV and we always park in this space when we stay - he does the parking ;)

bayside bungalow is a terrific condo that is within walking distance to all that one needs when visiting Mission and Pacific beaches. We have stayed here twice and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a hassle free vacation. You can park your car and never have to drive again until you leave( we took the trolley to the Padres game). Finally, Brina, the owner, is dedicated to making the vacation as comfortable as possible and always willing to act upon suggestions. Two thumbs up to Bayside Bungalow and Brina!

The location is perfect. We were there with our two young girls age 4 and 6. They had a great time at the beach/bay and at Sea World. We used the city bus to travel to Sea World ($2 per adult one way)The bus stop is literally steps away from the condo. You can easily walk to either the beach or bay. The amenities in the unit will exceed your needs. Plenty of places to eat that are close. There is close-by public parking at Santa Clara. The parking at the unit is compact. We have a Honda Civic that fit well anything larger would be real tight. We loved everything about it and look forward to another visit. The value was the icing on the cake.

What a wonderful place! It exceeded my expectations. It's modern, clean, and in a perfect location (the map doesn't do justice to how close it is to both the beach and the bay). It's also an easy walk to Pacific Beach. I hope to stay here every time I'm in San Diego.

Bayside Bungalo was fantastic. It's a cute little condo that more than met our needs. We took our dog, who enjoyed sleeping on the dog bed provided and resting outside on the balcony with a view of the bay. The proximity to the bay is one of its best attributes. We watched beautiful sunrises over the bay and sunsets a few steps away at the ocean. What a delight.

My mom and I stayed for the weekend and had a great time!! It's in an ideal location, close to the bay, the beach and downtown. The Bayside Bungalow was fantastic. Perfect for our needs, it was conveniently located to the beach, restaurants and the greater San Diego metro area. I would recommend it to anyone. My favorite was the bath robes. My partner disagrees. His favorite was the proximity to the beach.

Great location...only 1-2 blocks to the beach and short cab rides to main bar areas in Ocean and Pacific Beach. Apt. is cute and its great to have your own kitchen and refrigerator.
