Owner's Profile
Why the Owner Chose Dingmans Ferry
We chose this vacation home mainly to escape the hussle and bussle of working in NYC. We had two main criteria in buying this home, 1) close proximity to NYC, and 2) seclusion. After 2 years of searching the Pocono area, we finally found our home.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
Our cottage is in total seclusion, it's adjacent to state land and although we are in a private community there is absolutely no houses around our home. There is nothing but thick forest and wildlife.

Great family getaway property!

We spent a four day holiday weekend in this gated community in Dingmans Ferry and had a fantastic time. The house is situated at the end of a road, so it is quiet and gives you the feeling of being in a private estate. You are surrounded by beautiful woods and what appears to be a pond at the bottom of the hill (there was quite a bit of snow when we were there so it was hard to tell), but the hiking and exploring with our three teens and two dogs was a lot of fun. Nicely appointed kitchen that overlooks a good sized family/great room and eating area made it fun to prepare meals while the family watched movies, played games and sat by the fire. Two full bathrooms also made the trip that much more peaceful (like I said, we had three teenagers with us). Five people and two dogs... we did NOT feel crowded at all... very spacious. At this location you're not far from the Pocono ski resorts, we spent an afternoon at Fernwood and went snow tubing and had a great time... Shawnee was a few miles further down the road. Lot's of shopping in this area (grocery stores and restaurants). We would definitely recommend this place and look forward to visiting during the warmer months! Thanks for your hospitality!
Owner response:We're glad you enjoyed your stay, your welcome back anytime!

We spent two nights at this house and it was perfect! A lovely deck and grill for dinner outdoors, spacious kitchen with everything you might need and three large bedrooms, plus a comfy living room which we played multiple board games in (there are several in the house for your use!) There are beautiful woods surrounding the house and multiple parks for hiking nearby (including George W Childs State Park, where there are waterfalls and natural pools, perfect for a dip!) The owner, Bill, was extremely professional and easy to work with, he responded to all my emails in a timely manner and offered up suggestions for activities, resturants, etc... I highly recommend staying here for a rural, outdoorsy getaway!
Owner response:Glad you enjoyed your stay, you and your guests are always welcome! Thanks

My family rented the cottage for a weekend in July, and had the most amazing time. We hiked at Dingmans Falls, and fished on the Delaware River. All within 10 to 15 minuite drive. The cottage is an open layout of both the kitchen and living room, this is great for social gatherings along with great views of the thick forest. The cottage has 100% privacy and feels like its on 10 acres of land because its adjacent to stateland as we're told, there is absolutely no other houses around you. House was fully furnished with everything, all we brought was our clothes.
Owner response:Hope to see you again soon, fall foliage is quite a sight here in the Poconos. Glad you had relaxing time.

This lovely home was a pleasure to visit, it was private, wooded, really peaceful, and we liked the fact that it was close to skiing and hiking. The kitchen was modern and everything spotless. We especially enjoyed the fireplace, after a day on the slopes it was a real treat. We'll look forward to visiting again.
Owner response:Sue, Many thanks for being such thoughtful guest. You and your family are welcome anytime.

If seclusion and relaxation are what you're looking for, look no further. Absolutely gorgeous. I could not have been more satisfied and impressed with the accommodations as well as the rental itself. The land surrounding the rental is private and the scenery breathtaking. Aside from just a relaxing winter vacation, skiing and antique shopping are just a few miles away. It's perfect for a couple, family, or in my case, just myself and my dog. I will recommend it to all my friends and family. My only regret is that I was unable to stay longer. I will be returning.
Owner response:I wish you could have stayed the entire vacation, and you and the pooch are always welcomed...you were such a delightful guest.

We had a great stay Thanksgiving weekend. The house is roomy and comfortable with an open layout in the living/dining/kitchen area. If you are looking for something quiet and away from the crowds this is perfect. Great park and river access also.
Owner response:I wish you, your wife, and the two boys will visit again, you are one of the most considerate renters...hope to see you again.

This was a great week, and just what we needed...an escape from you reality. The house is nestled in the dense mountains, and has views of the woods from the throughout the house. We fished, canoed, hiked, but more importantly we kicked back and relaxed in the mountain air. The cottage was fully furnished, and we were greeted with two bottles of wine. Thanks for a great time!

We stayed for a week, and it was one of the most relaxing times we had. The layout of the house allows you to take in the pictureque view of the nature. There was so much activity in the area, we canoed and fished on the Delaware River. We also shopped at the huge flea market on the weekends. The amenities also had large community pool, and lake. We really had a blast in the Poconos!

Delightful! We had a small family reunion/birthday party. The house accomodated 6 adults and 1 infant with plenty of elbow room. The setting is quiet, private and really in the woods! Plenty to do around the house and community plus hiking/walking to waterfalls, biking [a bit strenous -- for the dedicated), swimming, kayaking. Great restauarnt to try is RIMBY about 15 mins from house. It was our first try with vrbos and we were all pleased. Recommend highly.
Owner response:I hope your husband enjoyed his 50th birthday! Your welcome anytime!

We stayed for 4 nights, and it was the most relaxing break in a long time....its just you and nature. This house is situated in absolute seclusion, and has panaramic views throughout the house. Even there was plenty of activities and excursions around the house, we opt to relax and take in the mother nature. Lastly, these renters were so kind as to leave 2 bottles of wine and a box of cookies as a complimentary gift for choosing there rental. Thanks for a great weekend!
