My wife and I have stayed at villas all over the world and we agreed that Casa Ola Perfecta was better than advertised. Everything was perfect. The views from the balcony was worth the trip alone. Infinity pool was fantastic and was cleaned every day. I would highly recommend Casa Ola Perfecta to anyone wanting a high end villa at a affordable price when visiting Costa Rica. Amazing Family Adventure Vacation
Amazing Family Adventure Vacation
Our family enjoyed a perfect adventure vacation at Casa Ola Perfecta for a week this June (2012). You know you are in for a treat before you even get to the house. Rancho Playa Negra is a beautiful gated community right on the beach. The property itself has a large, secure lot, with a soft grassy walk, just steps down to the beach. The large house is attractive, well maintained, clean and quite. The views take your breath away from the moment you enter the house. You don’t want to leave the well-equipped lower level with its outdoor kitchen, private bedroom suite and amazing pool/spa/lounge area. We often ate lunch (or snacked) on this level, having just come in from surfing or walking the tide pools. Lounging in the pool and sipping drinks while the sun sank into the horizon was just heavenly. The 2nd level is an amazing perch from which to watch surfers, the changing tides, sunset, and even horses running down the beach. Our family really liked the open floor plan and found the kitchen had everything we needed. The house is set up with TV/Cable, wireless, and stereo. There are games, a ping-pong table and magazines to keep you amused in the evening too. There was plenty of room for everyone to hang out together or get away for some quiet time on of the three lanais overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Our son picked the top bunk in the Surf decor Bunk Room because he’s never slept on a three-story bunk bed before. Our daughter loved the comfortable queen bed in the spacious Flip Flop Bedroom; while my husband and I enjoyed the huge master suite (with a king bed). We felt so spoiled staying here because of the house’s excellent amenities and the fact that we opted for daily maid service and sometimes carried out food from one of the local restaurants. We were surprised to find so many good restaurants in town – Café Playa Negra, Villa Deevena, and La Vida Buena Pizzeria. Make sure you get the ceviche from Café Playa Negra – wow! We went running & mountain biking, rode horses, collected shells in the tide pools, lounged in the pool, and of course, surfed. There are three different breaks right outside the door-Sandy Beach for beginners, Pico for intermediates (breaking right in front of Casa Ola Perfecta), and Playa Negra (just steps away in front of Hotel Playa Negra. This was one of our family’s favorite vacations because of the wildlife, adventure activities, and perfect house.

Unreal Sunsets and Views
Unreal Sunsets and Views
Casa Ola Perfecta is truly an ocean front rental property, being able to watch Playa Negra from the pool and lanai's is great. Private path to go surf, stroll on the beach, or go shell searching. Security for the development is 24hrs, so its nice to be able to leave the house feeling confident that there isn't any theft or crime. We had a few issues that should be communicated prior to arrival: 1. house claims to have wifi, signal was very weak to start off, and then it did not work 8 out of the 11 days for the rental. property manager said ICE(Costa Rica Communication Company) was working on the problem, but every other property & business in Playa Negra had wifi our entire stay. we had to walk to the Playa Negra resort for wifi. Property manager told us, "you need to unwind, not be so attached to your phones and internet," but 4 out of the 5 guests run our own business, so not having wifi at rental was not life threatening, but would have been more convinient to have at rental like advertised. 2. pool's electrical system was not working so lights and a few other features did not work, again not life threatening, but house is advertised with lights and fountains on pool at night. Kind of unsafe for kids if they want to swim at night. Property manager told us that storm "fried the motherboard" and owner has no plans to fix the issue at the current time. Overall, we had a wonderful time, waves were great, locals are so friendly, and the bars/restaurants are awesome. Spent a lot of time at Playa Avallenas, Lola's is a must go. Great atmosphere and local flavor right on the beach about 10 min drive north. Playa Negra is in a wonderful region of Costa Rica, next time we would not stay at COP, in her defense, she offered to contact owner for a refund or credit on next stay, but haven't heard from her or owner. Felt as if we could get more value for the dollar at another rental in the area, especially after talking with some of the other guests/travelers in the area. Despite all of the problems we experienced, the property manager did stay in contact with us, trying to work out the issues while we were at the house. Kind of seems that the house is not being maintained as well as it could be, but it is a rental so understanding this prior to arrival guarantees an enjoyable stay.

Owner response: Casa Ola Perfecta subscribes to the fastest DSL internet service available in the area to support renters and the "Surf Web Cam" located on the 3rd floor. The rental agreement explains that the utility (ISP)providers are not completely reliable and are not controlled by the homeowner or the property manager. From time to time there are internet issues but usually only for a matter of hours. I arrived at Casa Ola Perfecta immediately after this rental group departed to find the internet working. I stayed at the house for 4 days and only one morning for about 3 hours was I without high speed internet. ICE (ISP provider) was seen working on and must have fixed the internet issues before I arrived. The issue with the pool was discussed with the renters upon arrival and my property manager advised that if it was an issue she would discuss it with me. Nothing else was ever said about the pool until the renters departed. The house has outdoor flood lights that light up the pool and patio areas and eliminate any safety issue for night swimming. A new computer system is on order from the US and will be installed as soon as possible. The property manager told the renters as they were leaving to contact me directly about the pool to discuss any offset or refund because they booked the rental with me directly. However, despite having contact information, they did not call or email. Until I read this review I thought they did not contact me due to the fact that the renters did not advise the property manager that they broke a hand carved kitchen desk chair during the stay or other more troubling matters I discussed after my arrival. When I pressed my property manager further about this rental she reluctantly advised me that the renters were in violation of the signed rental agreement by bringing in "ladies of the night" and posessing illegal drugs which were left in plain view during their stay. If given the opportunity to completely understand the purpose of the renter's visit to the area and the apparent character of the renters, I would have preferred to have the house go vacant during their stay, rather than risk the fallout of their illegal activities during this rental. As far as maintaining the house goes, it is regularly maintained and as items break they are replaced immediately or, if it is not possible to immediately replace the item, as soon as practicable. To say the house is not maintained is far from the truth. Numerous return renters prove this.

We have been to the resort home 5 times now and every year it gets more enjoyable! Our kids love the pool and beach , and of course the surf is loved by small and "big kids" alike. It is a wonderful place with friendly people and great food. Thanks Casa O. P.

This is our third trip tio Casa OP in as many years, this time we were able to stay 4 weeks!!!!! The house is super and well maintained. I most enjoy floating in the pool and being able to watch Larry surf. We both look forward to the incredible sunsets every evening. Can't wait until next year. Thanks Casa OP and Playa Negra.

The house has everything you would want or need. The views of the surf and sunsets were incredible. To be able to sit in the infinity edge pool and watch the surfers was a big plus for the non-surfers in our group. This was truly surf paraidse.

Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: In 1998, I found this slice of tropical paradise. Two years later I purchased the lot. In July of 2002, Phase 1 of Casa Ola Perfecta construction was complete. In 2005 the Cabana, Infinity edge pool, outdoor kitchen and full bath were added. There is nothing better than to have a good surf and come back and relax in the pool and watch the sets roll in set after set after set. Casa Ola Perfecta is Pura Vida!!

The laid back atmosphere, beautiful tropical surroundings, quaint town, friendly locals and ease of access from the U.S. (2.25 hours from MIA, 3.25 hours from DFW).
The Unique Benefits at this House:
World class surfing, unique tropical setting, incredible sunsets and all the comforts of (an oceanside) home.
